I remember playing an old game, about 8 years ago. It had a mechanic that mobs could explode on death and kill you, devs learned from their mistake and changed that mechanic so it was possible to outplay it properly. I wish PoE2 devs take this lessons too. Btw that game was called Path of Exile and volatile was reworked in 2017...

To explode something needs to have energy, just put something on them to glow a little red and it is done. If they don't see because of the spell spam, that's their problem.

Why does the game where GGG specifically said that they are removing build bricking mods and un-telegraphed one shots have more build bricking mods and un-telegraphed one shots than PoE 1 ever had (even during Sentinel launch week).
@@Nukestarmaster because they clearly dont know what they are doing, they setup the best game skeleton ive ever seen for an early release, but slapped on the worst flesh and skin layer ever. Maps too big, too many one shot on deaths effects, white mobs are more challening than bosses which completely reverses the game feel, mechanics are all step backs like for god sakes i have to pick up expedition currency, i have no map tab, breach is 300 splinters even though its a 1 chance or lose boss. Deli is the only improvement but thats only cause it lasts longer cause the maps it loads into are 2x bigger than a t17, which everyone in poe1 said they hated t17 size but we dealt with it cause they had loot. So ggg in all their wisdom gave hs t17 size x2 for every zone starting in act 2 and then kept it through maps, and removed all loot. I really hope they burn the flesh off and build off this skeleton better.

In contrast in PoE1 only like 10% of deaths I know what killed me. Also haven't found a mod on a map yet that bricks my build, sure, might be too hard for my build currently but nothing that directly stops it from working like reflect or no leech or no regen.

I know that the monster with the massive blue aura killed me because it rendered me completely incapable of fighting back. Also, yeah, I have had a lot of deaths where I didn't know what killed me. Maybe it's my fault for playing sorceress, but when your effects are the _exact same colours_ as the bosses, it's kind of hard to tell sometimes.
I mean I appreciate the improved visuals as much as anyone but Jesus Christ it is hard to spot any ground effects. Me and my friend who plays in party just run away when we've killed a rare. So many random dumb things you don't spot when the screen is covered in spell effects. RIP on the Ultimatum and Simulacrum guys... the cynical part of me wonders... is the Trialmaster even added to the game, hence the elevator not working?
@_unknown_guy oh dude. Now imagine 30/s fire proj with aoe flying into that boss from 7 dudes. Plus 10 fiery skulls. I have literally no idea what small to average bosses even look like while fighting them. The big ones are fine, tho.
I roll away from every single rare I kill and wait 3 seconds because 90% of my deaths in maps have been from on death effects. I'm glad I'm not the only one respecting the fuck out of those overtuned dd shits
I actually don't remember any mid-season nerfs but I do recall them having skills that they came up with and later decided not to have them in future seasons like spark of assassin
Hey Empy, First of all thank you very much for your content and dedication to PoE, I've been watching you (and playing PoE) for 3 years now (I know, rookie numbers), and you're by far my favorite PoE content creator, I really enjoy seeing you and your group pushing the limits of a particular build or mechanic, I've always enjoyed super-high-almost-downright-ridiculous juicing videos or gambling ones of course hehe. As for PoE 2, at least it warms my heart seeing you guys also struggling against the game design, because if full parties of vets like you guys are are having so much trouble getting by on endgame mechanics, I suspect 99% of the players won't make it too. I'm not even talking about new player experience, just imagine lmao. I don't see any of the new players able to stick around until they tweak core systems, which is a shame because there is so much cool art, ideas and sound design in this game. I made an Ice Nova + Comet build before the CoX nerfs and it was so majestic. The biggest issue imo is that we don't really see a difference between level 30 playstyle and level 80 playstyle, we're just a bit stronger, faster, tankier, but the power fantasy isn't here except for visuals. Even seeing the crazy builds you guys can theorycraft and the synergies you can find, it seems slow and not very interactive, regardless of how much power/damage you can dish out. Not even mentionning seeing you guys fear rare mobs while almost defense capped, that's the second biggest issue, so much mechanics are a straight copy paste from PoE 1 when we as players are nowhere near the powercreep needed to face those kind of modifiers. How are you supposed to get by Mana Siphon + Molten Shell + Temporal Proximity as a mage ? It really feels like the team just decided to discard all PoE 1 feedback to make all the same mistakes again. Anyway, I truly hope for the best because beyond the balance issues there is a formidable game here, and wish everyone that reads this comment good luck. I'm not against difficulty, it's just not normal for 6 fully geared characters handed by very experienced players to be literally one-shot by a random rare mob or on-deaths effects while being res capped everywhere. It could happen in PoE 1 because of zoomy builds that didn't have defenses or high-end juicing that involved compromising ridiculous modifiers for ridiculous loot. I like PoE 2 being different and more tactical than PoE 1, I enjoy the slower pace myself, but seeing very good players struggling to claim their ascendancies or being beaten by one rare mob will always be a problem, in any ARPG. People are very vocal because PoE 1 players know how stubborn can GGG be if they don't want to change mechanics to address core problems. I'm not saying it will happen, and of course I hope for the best and for them to shape PoE 2 into a masterpiece, but you can't deny that it has already happened multiple times with PoE 1. We are only in the first week anyway, they will have plenty of time to fix the game, but in order for problems to be revealed it is normal for the community to be vocal about their issues. If you do not have issues with the game, why argue with strangers about their side ? Just be happy and play the game.

I love when I'm trying to manually fire a comet that's on a 10 second cooldown, but my controller auto locks onto a random mob 180 degrees in the wrong direction.
Honestly those guys that have the shield that reflects projectiles are worse than most rares I see in maps. They even have their own waystone mod lmfao.
There are still essences, omens, and chaos orbs to gamba on items that have some good mods some bad mods. It still has a long way to go, but it's a good base to expand on with more reasonable mechanics as opposed to PoE1's huge mess of disconnected and often redundant crafting mechanics.

My biggest problem ls cirrently are the on death animations, in particular there one that drops my frame rate from fixed 60 to like 15 each time it occurs It’s the one that leaves all the little bloody tentacles on the ground and I do not Understand y this one animation is bricking my pc ggg please
My fps doesn’t drop but my you fans literally go to 100% when this happens and it’s so annoying, I don’t even go above 70c and it’s making me want to pull my hair out, every time I kill a rare I start running so I don’t have to see that effect lmao
You've been able to use that mtx like that since it came out lol. All pieces of the scourge set summon different demons. They do nothing, but one is for coomers.

Enter Act Two, get a Ele Quarterstaff that rolls 100% Flat Bonus Elemental on it, with two Sockets to add another 100% Damage on it? Instantly getting 300% more damage on ONE ITEM on ONE AFFIX, and walk through Act Two unaffected by enemies? The game just isn't right. It's fundamentally flawed.

I still don’t understand why GGG loves on-death effects so much. They said they added dodge roll to make every fight more engaging, melees are just “Rolling” because you cant dodge every explosions.

He doesn't share his filters. He doesn't want to mess people up if they make a mistake on it and have people blame him cause they were missing good drops or something.
On death effects and stuff on ground has no place in this game. They took away mobility and speed but left those things in. It's the equivalent of having to jump a big gap but not being allowed to run. That's not difficulty, that's bad design. I don't think PoE2 is a bad game, but i can see why they're delaying PoE1's new league. If 3.36 came out this week i could see a lot of people just quitting PoE2
corspe explosion need sto be removed. its so FUN when you go to loot a rare you just killed, and then surprise die.. AT LEAST MAKE IT MORE OBVIOUS! impossible to see with all the visual clutter
Thanks POE-god empy. I've felt unwilling to play POE2 today for the first time due to reasons you just showcased. I am not even to maps yet, but have no currency to craft replacement items that I've had since Act2-3. The only way I get better items is if the vendor has them or I use a wisdom scroll. If I choose to craft, I still dont have more than 1 Regal at any one time because I'm 'crafting'.... I also dont like that we are Testing the game and they dont respec our character when they nerf/remove an interaction so I'm bricked because I dont have the gold and currency to swap builds around..
I spent a ton of gold, more than 20k, I think, to unbrick my dogshit monk at act3 (my decisions made the build bad, not nerfs), the build wasn't completely dead, but I hadn't both survability and damage. Spending currency on crafting was a big mistake as I'm not in ssf, but I can say that I made through acts without trading at all. And then, in like 10 maps, I had 10 ex and 11 regal drop which allowed me to replace my entire equipment. Maybe I got crazy lucky, but regals are definitely easier to find in higher level areas, which is great for ssf players.
I fear PoE2 becomes just a reskin to PoE1 in terms of endgame gameplay. One week after release, and some folks already starts to spam fest, clean maps like it is in PoE1.
It's hard to say this, because I have such high hopes and aspirations for this game moving forward.. but it has to be said. One shots remaining in this game is a FAILURE by the development team. I know they said they'd balance these things as we moved forward, but I've only seen player nerfs and no changes to visual clarity, random one shots, or ascendancy trials.

Visual clarity, oneshots, on-death effects. All of them are still terrible in POE 2. The rares arent the problem, the problem is that they are more dangerous after they are dead than alive. The entire point of the interactive gameplay this game is supposed to have is to not need these things anymore. They only exist in poe1 because its the only way to kill players, since you never interact with monsters basically. In poe2 rare fights are supposed to be challenging so i dont know why tf i still die to some chaos Explosion every 5 or so maps after everything is dead
@@Zylosio I'm pretty sure as people start to get to end game that they're going to have a whole bunch of complaints about on-death effects and they're only going to get louder. So this is the best opportunity during early access to get it changed because they'll never change in POE1.

GGG added a new rarity of enemies. Shield enemies. They replace rare enemies.

Why do on death emchaics exist in this slowed down game? The justification for it in poe 1 was the zoom zoom and only way for mobs to do damage.

On death effects and stuff on ground has no place in this game.
They took away mobility and speed but left those things in. It's the equivalent of having to jump a big gap but not being allowed to run.
That's not difficulty, that's bad design.

Thanks POE-god empy. I've felt unwilling to play POE2 today for the first time due to reasons you just showcased. I am not even to maps yet, but have no currency to craft replacement items that I've had since Act2-3. The only way I get better items is if the vendor has them or I use a wisdom scroll. If I choose to craft, I still dont have more than 1 Regal at any one time because I'm 'crafting'.... I also dont like that we are Testing the game and they dont respec our character when they nerf/remove an interaction so I'm bricked because I dont have the gold and currency to swap builds around..

I spent a ton of gold, more than 20k, I think, to unbrick my dogshit monk at act3 (my decisions made the build bad, not nerfs), the build wasn't completely dead, but I hadn't both survability and damage. Spending currency on crafting was a big mistake as I'm not in ssf, but I can say that I made through acts without trading at all. And then, in like 10 maps, I had 10 ex and 11 regal drop which allowed me to replace my entire equipment. Maybe I got crazy lucky, but regals are definitely easier to find in higher level areas, which is great for ssf players.

I fear PoE2 becomes just a reskin to PoE1 in terms of endgame gameplay. One week after release, and some folks already starts to spam fest, clean maps like it is in PoE1.
It's hard to say this, because I have such high hopes and aspirations for this game moving forward.. but it has to be said. One shots remaining in this game is a FAILURE by the development team. I know they said they'd balance these things as we moved forward, but I've only seen player nerfs and no changes to visual clarity, random one shots, or ascendancy trials.

The rares arent the problem, the problem is that they are more dangerous after they are dead than alive. The entire point of the interactive gameplay this game is supposed to have is to not need these things anymore. They only exist in poe1 because its the only way to kill players, since you never interact with monsters basically. In poe2 rare fights are supposed to be challenging so i dont know why tf i still die to some chaos Explosion every 5 or so maps after everything is dead
@@Zylosio I'm pretty sure as people start to get to end game that they're going to have a whole bunch of complaints about on-death effects and they're only going to get louder. So this is the best opportunity during early access to get it changed because they'll never change in POE1.
