Thank you. Took way too long!
I came here to make this comment. Tip of the hat for your sacrifice
@@TheRuns2 i've watched enough WC content to figure out each of their patterns lmao
@@ComfortingChaosFarms I don't recall many times where they don't get to the point until 75%-80% of the clip. At least when Simon does a, "Why? , "Here's why", he's explaining along the way that you're not wasting your time wondering wtf the point is.
Agreed when he got to the point.
As a lifelong WWF/E fan, I'd LOVE to see AEW become a huge, successful company. The fans win whenever competition is at it's highest.
Im very happy to read this comment
I second this
AEW is already huge but it just doesn’t seem huge because of how much bigger the WWE is
Same. Instead, even their top guy in his big return had to bring up WWE.
Until they can stand on their own two feet solely about the wrestlers, not the company, they’ll always be second rate.
@@princevegeta9149 honestly though, if we all stop and relaize they got this far in ONLY FIVE YEARS, i dont care what anyone says thats damn impressive
6 minutes in and wondering if you ever get to a point Zzz
These reporters are behaving like a cult. They are attacking EAW non-stop because if they don't, they fear they won't be part of the crew anymore. Basically they don't have an opinion of their own and parroting the people with the loudest mouths, that are all WWE fanboys. AEW is doing great, they have improved a lot since they started and these reporters should be taken for what they really are, WWE fanboys disguised as reporters. Did you see any programs of these fanboys on the humiliating Orton botch? Does any of these fanboys dare to say that Cody, Solo and Gunther are boring and AEW is way more fun to watch now? Come on fanboys, grow a spine.
@@sancatheone6258 lol
@@sancatheone6258 Its not disguised theyve said it straight up. They just love WWE and anything not WWE is not good
Is it that their arenas should be smaller?
that's how video essays work? you don't just immediately get to the point and wrap up the whole thing after 10 seconds! that's not how written essays work either. there's a structure to these things that has to be followed. if you don't have the attention span to sit through a 10 minute video, then just stick to watching tik toks
brother was just yappin for 11 minutes
Most people when they criticise any company they just see to yap about nothing or one this for 10 mins to get as revenue
This guy is rivaling Adam and Simon as what culture's worst presenter
@@andrewmorrison5289Simon?!!😮
@@andrewmorrison5289 It doesn't help when this guy is going out of his way to put on a fake personality as though he's trying out for an acting gig in a Shakespeare inspired flick. He's an insufferably bad presenter
@@JordanODash he sucks so much
AEW's entire appeal in the early years was that it wasn't WWE. Everyone hated WWE at the time and was desperate for an alternative. Along comes AEW and brings together a buffet of strong style, lucha libre, pro wrestling and sports entertainment that intentionally filled in the gaps left by WWE. Now that WWE doesn't have those gaps and is back to form, especially with Vince out of the way, the wrestlers are happy there and so are the fans. The problem with AEW is that there's no need for it when WWE is good. They need a different way to identify other than "not WWE" in 2024.
Not only that, but they need to stop talking about WWE all the time. For example we just had a great Double or Nothing and the return of MJF who can’t help himself but mention Vince McMahon again. It’s off putting, and won’t bring in any new fans
That's exactly it in a nutshell - they're still stuck in the "we're not WWE" rut which doesn't work now WWE is back to it's very best. They have nothing to fall back on other than cheap pops and pandering to fans.
MJF v Punk dog collar most underrated…
MJF Punk feud was the best thing the company has ever done
I liked Ricky's match with Danielson more no bs but it was definitely a great fight
Somewhere in there there's a good point that I would summarize as the product getting more and more inside jokey and more niche until it's alienated everyone who isn't "inside", which is an increasingly small group of die hards. I can't say this video made that point very well, at all, but I think it was in there somewhere.
Underrated match in aew, it’s recency bias maybe, but Osprey v Fletcher. That finale was completely unhinged!!
I hadn't seen Fletcher wrestle before, I think he showed he could hang with Osprey. Really impressed with him
4:55 but ironically she's become AEW's number one Women's babyface next to Willow Nightingale
Most underrated aew match Cody vs Guevara ladder match.
The end of Cody in AEW that was a great moment!
That show was my very first live AEW/wrestling show ever, holy hell
I was at that show in Cleveland. Crazy how that ended being Cody's last AEW match.
I remember that that's the one where Sammy just leaps up and does the cutter from the top of the ladder that was awesome
Seriously Cody's best match ever.
Basically when the DARK ORDER took a long walk off a short pier and disappeared.
That happened a lot for me. WWE is guilty of it but not as much.
It's WCWish. One week a group was formed. 3 weeks later no mention of it. That sort of thing.
Should have just broken dark order up after Brody passed away, or pushed evil uno as the new leader and made them a legit group, after Brody they were a complete joke of a faction
Wow. Someone actually did a video criticizing AEW on THIS CHANNEL?
good job 👏🏽 finally someone has the balls to. And by the looks of the comment section, WhatCulture needs to do more of these videos. Love seeing the self exposure of whining AEW fans who accept no faults. Children 🙄
Kenny omega vs Matt Sydal on Dynamite or Omega vs Angels both times. Both were bangers
Most underrated match...Claudio Castagnoli v Konosuke Takeshita Battle of the Belts 3
I still enjoy aew matches more than competition. They had way too many injuries that killed off their stories. And a few questionable bookings.
punk and drew getting injured literally affected wm and king of the ring
Buddy mathews vs Andrade on collision was Hella underrated the story in that match was one of the best I've ever seen
Best match I've seen in a few years
@akagainesy I've recently just got back into wrestling after the pandemic stopped in like 2012 but thank you for someone finally agreeing with me
@@DbpLukcy I left in 2005ish came back a few weeks before revolution 2021 (the barbwire deathmatch one). Like yeah Danielson and Osprey have incredible matches, but all round from both sides, and the selling!!!!, was out of this world in that Mathews Andrade match. They literally made me believe it was a real fight, if you know what I mean
@@akagainesy definitely man aew definitely has its faults but doesn't fail to put out great wrestling it hard not to with the talent roster 😅
I paid to attend World's End last year and haven't tuned in since. I never thought that going to a ppv in person would ever make me loathe an entire product. I'm such a huge fan of Swerve, and I can't believe how little I care about his championship reign. I just don't trust them to do anything right anymore.
ALL of the ‘great’ Marko Stunt matches are shockingly underrated…
This video should come with an “Includes Paid Promotion” tag, paid for by TKO Group, and the IWC.
I've been watching Aew since the beginning of the pandemic .There have been a few misses but a fun show to watch grow, and I love Dam near everything that I have seen . it's different yet retro at the same time. It also has revived my love in wrestling and have few complaints about the promotion.
The Womens Lights out match with Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker was great
MJF's new tattoo glares at ypu in disapproval.
Ironic that THIS presenter is the one delivering this message.
01:14: "Don't look directly at him", thinks the Instant Classic.
What was the point of this video? Like why can’t we just enjoy wrestling nowadays and be grateful we have so much variety in the product now. AEW has had some bad booking and storylines but what company hasn’t? I don’t get the video honestly just feels like he’s bitching about nothing tbh
Because unfortunately the IWC thrives on the BS tribalism
The irony of all this for about 30000 views
The booking has killed AEW for me. From certain champs like Moxley, CM Punk, Samoa Joe, the Jericho Appreciation Society, BCC, along with giving bums like Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta too much TV time, mixed in with how they booked people like Wardlow, Hobbs, and others that deserved more just made me lose interest. Haven't watched since they had Joe beat MJF. Adam Cole? Really? It's just lost anything fun. Mad Osprey, MJF, and other promising stars signed and didn't jump ship to WWE.
Aew makes great matches but they struggle with the long term story
What a waste of time, we get it What culture hates AEW
Sure seems that way
Don't know why some idiots still accuse them of being AEW marks, especially when they've been hyper critical of them lately
I mean of course they're not perfect but come on 🤦
@@afp445it's just criticism ..y'all act like we can't say anything bad about aew but yet y'all constantly trash wwe
@@Bls-of1ld It's more the other way around: Every WWE video WC does I've seen nothing but praise/worship for the Fed in the comments section, but on AEW videos there's the same 'AEW sucks!' or 'AEW is a failing company' rhetoric constantly. Not complaining, that's just the straight up truth 💯
I’ve been a diehard AEW since day 1. Ordered every ppv never missed an episode of dynamite and would defend them through their flaws to the max but it’s honestly so hard to watch now. I feel like the shows just have no soul. Yes they have storylines but I feel like the storylines are done just for the sake of it but nothing that gets me invested. I feel like it’s just a week to week dream match booking show at this point.
Kenny Omega vs Rey Fennix during the pandemic.
Tony Khan was like "i will sit back and take this fucking shit" if u remember u remember 😂😂
They can be successful if they learn to keep all things WWE out of their mouths and just focus on their company. Book your wrestlers better, have better storylines and stop signing every free agent wrestler. Then maybe your ratings will go up and your tickets sales would be better.
They could easily be an even bigger rival to WWE if they just actually tried to improve themselves. It’s like they aren’t self aware enough to know when something needs to change.
A good obscure example of that I’ve noticed is that their audio quality, especially during entrances, has consistently been behind WWE and even TNA lol. It doesn’t sound as crisp or clear as you’d expect a big money wrestling promotion would be. That seems like an easy enough fix that professionals would have caught onto and fixed by now, but they haven’t. It doesn’t inspire much confidence.
Problem is they aren’t a rival. But they think they are. And therefore when the numbers continue dropping and the ratings as well, it forces insecure Tony to start talking on Twitter and in interviews like oh hey btw guys, we’re WWEs big competition! And you should watch us because we’re the little guy! But don’t watch them because they’re pedos!
And that does nothing but hurt the product more.
They’ll be in a great position again if Tony realizes AEW has never been a rival or a threat, and never will be. But that it CAN be the best biggest and successful number 2.
Which isn’t a bad thing at all. It’s a great thing.
Andy Murray and Michael Sidghwick crying in the corner watching this video uploaded on their channel.
They most have gotten put in time-out by Meltzer.
Michael Sidgwick wrote the article, you moron.
Yeah this 2 clowns are so horrible. Up and Down for example. 90% negative and a little positive = up for aew shows. Wwe on the other hand, every 50/50 is a negative for them.
@@Mezzala90 Andy Murray in particular would call WWE petty anytime the says something about AEW. But anytime Tony Khan does it he says he like this atmosphere which reminds him of Monday night Wars and always defending his social media meltdowns. What a fucking clown.
It’s lost focus and stagnated. They have so much talent, they need more cohesive storylines
the most underrated feud was brandon cutler vs peter avalon on dark
It's hard to take this video seriously when everyone knows that WhatCulture (with the exception of Simon Miller) has become a WWE echo chamber.
TK needs to let someone like danielson and or Omega take over the booking, he's clearly too busy to do it all himself.
Just tape all of the weekly shows in one decent venue like a soundstage or small arena and save the arenas around the country for PPV.
Pac vs Orange Cassidy
Which time?
For me, Pac vs Orange Cassidy was underrated.
TNA is filmed out here in Las Vegas a lot, I would love to attend a show with an NXT Takeover
Really? I waited 11 minutes for you to say “storytelling”?
The thing of it is that the Jericho Appreciation Society story should never have been made a story about The Promotion. The hook is built in; it's about Chris Jericho's ego. Chris was tired of people who were supposed to have his back wandering off because Eddie Kingston convinced Santana and Ortiz that they belonged with him because he was "street" or whatever. So he built a new group of people who had PERSONAL reasons to be loyal to him. It was about what he had done for Hager, for Sammy, for Garcia and Menard and Parker. The things that wrestlers do for other wrestlers if they are not destructive locker-room cancers like CM Putz. A "family" story, in other words.
What this has to do with "wrestlers" v. "sports entertainers", I don't have a bloody clue.
I mean, this is the story that Jericho (who has a lot of influence backstage) clearly wants to tell. People don't appreciate him! That's the whole "Learning Tree" story he's doing right now, perhaps fueled by a legitimate dislike of how Taz Jr. is being pushed beyond his skills. Great, wonderful, do that story, show the man who HAS earned respect being so driven for the need for affirmation that he (eventually) drives everybody away.
But making Jericho a metaphor for the WWE is just silly.
Most Underrated AEW Match Hangman vs. Murderhawk
Know that Adam Copeland is gonna be out they should habe a tournament for The TNT title with Jay White & Ricky Starks meeeting in the final
No more tournaments
I love the wrestling AEW puts on, its different from WWE, so for me i can enjoy both. However what turns me off is when they keep tearing each other down instead healthy competing. I feel like AEW should stop worrying what WWE is doing and just continue putting on excellent. wrestling.
Exactly. It was funny when wwe was back in 2019 but now since wwe is good again it's isn't the cool thing to do.
But I thought Y’all at Whatculture Wrestling said it was fine for Years😒
Scorpio Skye v Sammy Guevara TNT Title Ladder Match on Dynamite.
He makes good points .... but the real issue is that the problems outlined in the video is just a symptom of a larger problem ... Tony can't book. He doesn't have the skill or experience to craft compelling stories, and he never has. Everyone was so desperate for AEW to succeed that most were willing to overlook the flaws in the booking or, even worse, pretend that the booking was good. We are starting to see the inevitable result of AEW's awful story telling -- declining ratings, tiny live audiences and a general dissatisfaction with the product and as long as Tony Kahn continues to run the show, it's not going to get better.
Signing everyone that they can made it a problem. You have all of these ex-WWE superstars taking up TV time, but not all of them are really drawing anything. There are plenty of AEW originals either sitting at home or in the back, waiting for an opportunity or eventually make an opportunity for themselves. I'm sure there are some just waiting for their contract to expire or just end up being released to go elsewhere. Another thing is that the honeymoon phase is over and it is hard to bring that back. While competition is great, it's hard to compete when there isn't much to compete with. If Vince was still running WWE, then they would potentially have a better chance of getting closer to WWE's viewership. It doesn't matter how many times anybody from AEW says that AEW is the "best professional wrestling company in the world," they need to start making a better product.
Tony’s check must’ve have bounced on you guys lol
I'm sorry, but i just can't cosign a company that allows a 50 year old man to do a high risk spot knowing his injury past and the fact that he was once told he could never wrestle again. At some point you gotta protect your stars from themselves. Some cheap memorable pop isn't worth someone getting seriously hurt and they do it time and time again for the raging fanbase that loves risky wrestling. There's other ways you can garner memorable spots man.
im an AEW fan but i agree with everything he said, it doesnt mean i dont enjoy the show but fixing those things would make it better and maybe give us the feelings we got when it first started
this is why I hate the IWC. this channel sucks, rage bait stuff like this is what gets wrestlers and AEW fans harassed just for being passionate about something they enjoy. you already ended Simons collision ups & downs which many fans loved and its probably only a matter of time before this is exclusively a WWE channel. just tone deaf after AEW just had ANOTHER incredible PPV. why I remain unsubbed
Dont be a mark lol
@@Bls-of1ldFollow your own advice 'E' drone
If wrestlers are happy about the new environment and wanna speak on it so be it if they're being told to do so that's different

I admit I LOL'd when Tony got booed on The Buy In to DoN (his OWN PPV pre-show) when announcing "The Owen" 2024 with Martha Hart...
Turns out letting Cody leave was the worst move they made…he actually did good with creative and he was running the show and not Khan
Bruh, they just need to get rid of big factions bs, factions SHOULD be rare, then it works.
I thought this video was going to focus on the injuries and unnecessary "spots" which cut short angles and story lines.
AEW is from 2019-2021, with some sprinkles some good stuff here and there from 2022 through now
Cody vs. Dustin Rhodes, my favorite AEW match of all time
WHAT!
It's not a secret if you are talking about it
AEW is a great company regardless. Every company has it's lows. At least this company is still running and still being able to showcase solid performances. Because of AEW, fans build more interest to watching other companies who could show quality wrestling as well.
Leaving Tony in charge of everything cause he’s not good at any of it lol
Why is it snowing through this whole video? 😂
Underatted Match people forget about and sleep on OC vs Ospreay
Well put
This is actually a very good and on point video by Gareth. AEW talent yelling at the screen to tell me how great it is and how they'd "die for the company" is annoying and childish AF.
And head on over to the AEW sub reddit if you're up for a laugh. It's like a cult.
The biggest issue with AEW is that they were built to be the anti WWE. They had success by just not doing all the stuff that we hated that WWE would do. Now WWE is good and cool and just being not WWE isn’t good enough.
britt baker vs ThunderRosa lights out match it may be the best rated womens match but thats just how great it was, when i showed my kid he was amazed really enjoyed it despie being at the age where he doesnt like womens action, he told me he didnt know women could even do that and how they were really cool thats converting a kid to the product but not enough people are willing to show there kids

Oh look, WWECulture with yet another “look what AEW are doing wrong” video, these channels are getting tedious now, the gaming channel turned into an anti-Xbox channel, this is turning into an anti-AEW channel.
Ooh, AEW signed Okada, Ospreay, Mone etc AEW are signing everyone. Yet no mention when WWE signed Tama Tonga, Jacob Fatu and the other one (legit don’t remember his name) but nothing is mentioned
In my opinion, AEW actually saved wrestling. Look at where WWE was when AEW began. They had no good ideas. Competition, and some copying, made WWE begin making better choices, including putting more wrestling on their weekly shows, longer title reigns, less PG garbage, etc. AEW makes mistakes, but they also deserve a lot of credit you seem unwilling to give them.
Unfortunately not many folks are willing to give them any credit. There are just too many WWE loyalists who hate any wrestling company that isn't their precious Fed. AEW is far from perfect, but there's no denying that they have indeed saved wrestling, whether some folks like it or not.

My biggest issue: please highlight the women more! I’m so sick of 2-3 segments of Joe shmo low-carders. The fact that they finally had an 18min match for women is genuinely disgusting.

LOOKING AT THESE COMMENT…PEOPLE WANT TO HATE AEW…KNOCK IT OFF
I do admit AEW acting like its the true home of Por Wrestling is a bit off putting Lets you mistake AEW as the only one doing this. TNA did this, ROH did this, heck WWE as done this to such a degree not until recently have they even acknowledged other companies exist. So I wouldn't call this a critical mistake of AEW. Just a common one amongst many companies. I'm assuming Whatculture just put that in the title to get clicks
The Elite story is very good and for me personally the “feeling” has been brought back (not as much as early AEW tho) and I don’t care if the IWC thinks the same or if they hate it
The criticism here is that AEW promotes itself and tries to sell itself as the best wrestling. You know just like every tv show ever. Reports as if WWE and every single wrestling promotion never does this exact same thing.
Hangman vs Danielson iron Man match.
You name a company all elite. Then you name a shitty tag team “the elite”. Then casual fans tune in and go, “if this elite, I’d rather watch re runs.”
Super great matches are elevated so much higher with stories and believable characters. The Elite aren’t good heels, good characters, good wrestlers even.
But hey, they spend a billionaires money so good for them!
