    Running Mojave I deleted all the attachments folder, and all the files with .db in the message folder and it works again for me. Thanks for the video

    The Messages folder showed a folder called "attachments" rather than just one file.
    I deleted the folder, and now all previous images sent are not viewable or downloadable. Please include the warning of the possibility of this happening in the description, in order to help others avoid my mistake and copy this folder to another location first.
    Thank you,
    Geoff

    Just a heads up: it won't load images or videos that were sent before you perform this fix. Seems to only affect images/videos that are incoming afterwards...just so your expectations are set.

    I had a file named Attachment, but no file extension. Deleted it, relaunched iMessage, and sent my self a picture. When I received it, a folder named Attachment was created, and the image appeared correctly in iMessage Thanks!

    this isn't working for me. running el capitan. issue started under yosemite. i've tried every trick listed on the internet, including this one but the problems persists.

      What exactly is the problem you're having

    • @zotan
      @zotan 8 лет назад +2

      +Cheyenne Roohani i cannot send or receive images or video in apple messages. this started happening after installing yosemite and persists in el capitan. i drag and drop into the chat window and the image immediately appears in the chat window on my end but the intended recipient never gets it. the transfer bar at the top never appears either. i can send images/multimedia just fine to SMS chats in messages, no problems there. they do not show up in the file transfer history window either.

    Hi, I'd love to know how to do the opposite of this! I use a Mac for my work computer and love chatting with my friends but don't want to worry about anyone sending any risque images. Is there a way I can set Mac Messenger to no download images?

    • @shineeyman
      @shineeyman  7 лет назад

      Travis Myers I'm not aware of a method of just blocking images. Your best bet is probably to keep your computer closed when you're not sitting there so that no messages come up when you're away from your computer

    I cant seem to find options when I click on "GO" when I'm on finder? help?

    • @shineeyman
      @shineeyman  8 лет назад

      +hassan cheeseballkhalid When you click on GO when you are in Finder, press the option key on your keyboard. There are two option keys on the keyboard, one in the bottom left and another in the bottom right hand corner of your keyboard.They are directly adjacent to the Command keys on either side of the space bar.

    macOS Sierra, and I have this problem. However there is no "library" tab or anything.

    • @shineeyman
      @shineeyman  7 лет назад +2

      Jeremiah Bray I have sierra now as well. I just checked and was able to follow the steps. When you click on the "go" tab at the top you need to hold down the option key and the library option will show up. It's a hidden menu item. You can only see it when you hold down option
