Hey Asad , i am wondering that at 1:20 why the installed characteristic plot will always be same as Quick opening. I mean the graph of installed chars could look like equal % and then to compensate it we would need Quick opening. Note that both are non linear and operating DP in a live plant may not always vary as the graph shown in video.
Dear brother, You are correct, the graph is an example to demonstrate the concept . The end covers the type of characteristics to be selected as per bela liptak table.
we have been sizing valves with Linear characteristics for high pressure reduction while equal % we have been using for flow control valves . That was always our rule of thumb unless there is a change of thought process over the years however with advancement in PID controls and DCS system - the valve travel can be made to behave the way we want
hi asad, how to find the Differential pressure across the valve for minimum flowrate if i don't know downstream pressure ?? how to do preliminary sizing if i don't know the downstream pressure of control valve
I have a positioner attached to my control valve. If my control valve inherent cahracteristic is equal percentage, then what characteristic should I select when I configure the optimisation in my positioner setting? Is it set it as linear or equal percentage? I noticed the characteristic in our positioner setting is always set as linear instead of equal percentage.
@fltp1888 Yes, you are positioner setting should be normally linear. Valve Characteristics is determined by the shape of Plug. Now, suppose you want to change the valve performance without changing the plug, then you should change the positioner settings.
Hi sir please explain always in detail explanation is not understandable for freshers are the persons who is new to subject is not at all able to understand please give me a brief background detail about each term so that any new person or a new engineer who wants to learn this topics he will easily understand your explanation is only if somebody expert in wall design he can understand it's not for the beginners

Asad Shaikh - this video is what I am searching for long time. Thanks for making this video. Very easy to understand
Most welcome Balaji, glad you liked it !!
Mon ami, vous êtes vraiment excellent, merci à vous...
Thank you Asad for making our life easy by making this video
Most welcome dear abhi 😊
This was a very helpful video. Thanks for recommending the process control book as well.
Glad you enjoyed it! @Timothymukansi 😊
Please make a video control valve seat leakage calculation.
As requested the video is ready Saquib. Here is the Link to the Video : ruclips.net/video/j7Ew0JYoMpo/видео.html
Well done! Thank you for sharing this
Glad you enjoyed it!
can u please make detail video on control station assembly?
oh sure control station is a pretty vast but very interesting topic !!

Very true ..... Just it is important to configure the valve correctly !!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge ☺️
hi asad, how to find the Differential pressure across the valve for minimum flowrate if i don't know downstream pressure ??

Very informative 😮
Which valve characteristics used for temperature control ?
So what about quick openning, when's it used
Good video. Can anyone tell please what is the difference between "equal percentage" and "linear"?
Thanks.
Sure thanks for your comment will start to work on it right away

What if Difference between P MAx and P Min is more than 5 ??
