    Seva Kunj History,
    the Story of Seva Kunj,
covered in the video series of Important famous temples of vrindavan,
Best temples to visit in vrindavan, and Must visit places in vrindavan,
Seva means “to serve” and Kunja means “forest grove”.
It is said that in this place, on the first full moon night of the Kartik month, Krishna performed Rasalila with gopis. Lord Krishna used to massage the Lotus feet of Srimati Radharani and decorate them with vermillion. He also used to comb her beautiful long hair, and decorate her with flowers and gems studded ornaments before Rasalila. There is temple named as Rangmahal depicting these beautiful pastimes of Radha and Krishna in the form of fine paintings. Near to Rangmahal is Lalita Kund which was created by Lord Krishna to quench the thirst of Lalita sakhi during Rasalila.
It is said that still Rasalila happens here every night which is the divine dance and only pure devotees can perceive it. No one is allowed within the Seva Kunja boundary after sunset. During the day time there are numerous monkeys in this place, but they also leave as the sun sets. Even the birds are not seen here after sunset. It is said that if anyone enters this garden at night, they will immediately go insane.
Originally, Seva Kunja was not just the area within the walls of the present small forest, but the whole area about a mile in each direction. Imli Tala and Shringar Vat also are a part of Seva Kunja.
