During The Baddest when Akali says she's the GOAT, they should've used a football/soccerball instead of a basketball. Would've been a great reference towards her All-Star skin.

The production value of the entirety of K/DA: the music, the animation in the MVs. Everything is just so INSANELY AMAZING IT’S RIDICULOUS AND THROUGH THE ROOF. Everything is so damn clean the QUALITY UGHHH

The drop at 11:40 is even harder, that beat switches to just pure "brutalism" - is that even a sub-genre of beats ? It's normaly a term in architecture, but it fits so perfectly.

I can't really understand why you'd say MORE is bad.... It's just more mature. Obviously if you like fast paced music then that's a thing but MORE seems more in control. Which makes sense because they're in a throne room. After all there was a 2 years break so the members grew up.

There is one dance move they do in this video that falls really flat. It's like the motion capture didn't quite capture it so they tried to hand animate it. The rest of the video, when that move would be repeated, they cut it. It just feels dead compared to the rest of the dancing. The dancing and motion in Popstars is significantly smoother. They also use a camera trick in Popstars that gives it a very subtle different feel. The camera is locked off and only pulls back. It just has a very different feel.

Truly Their level of production is almost criminal. it crazy to listen to stuff riot puts out and then other music. and you cant help feel just how empty the music sounds in comparison.
Tbh the first time I heard pop/stars I expected it to have producers that are already known in kpop because western pop is just... Yea empty. I was literally shocked when I found out that it was all riot
I love seeing producers and professionals react to this because it is just insane. Ridiculous amounts of work and talent went into every part of this.
One thing no one talks about... the camera. Do you know how hard it is to replicate camera moves that look like an actual person is holding them? Because you have no rig, no body to see. Yet this camera routinely overshoots and corrects. There are zoom focus issues like a real cam op would have. It wobbles like someone crouched down and is rocking back and forth. Camera movement is crazy good on this.
They created LED screens in animation for the backdrop... not just a video element in the animation, but LED screens in animation playing a video element. They really wanted this to look like it was really made.
The part when the new character comes into the group.. a vocal coach reacting pointed out the change from staccato singing to legato singing. She sings very legato which fills in where the music has pulled way back. Smoother, ethereal as you put it. Then right as she approaches the light she changes back to staccato as the music builds back up to the drop. Seriously, I don't think I have ever seen any other group with this much production value.
Same! The producers and the video editors like Jordan Orme ... it's so great to just hear something and know it's next level and then have experts break it down and explain to you in detail why you're right! :D
i know this is late but kai sa's verse "i don't fit in the mold i'm a rebel" is a representation of her gameplay mechanic which is different than the "mold"

The Acapella too, I love it. Like the way they use the vocals as instruments sometimes is just insane
The Baddest has a really cool mix of genres. You get the hard dubstep/edm beats but the way she sings over it is reminiscent almost of country. And then a totally different sounding bridge with an almost 80s twinkle synth. The contrasts they constantly throw at you so smoothly really make their music.
This is the first time watching a reaction where I noticed all the girls are wearing heels (Sera is wearing platform heels) besides akali lol
11:20 I love the sharp pitchy "clank" noise that comes in here, my favourite part for sure
I really recommend turning the captioning on for these. The lyrics in Korean are translated, and are great.
the small attention to detail that I love is when Evelynn drags her clawed fingers over the marble bust, in "More", and the scar marks actually follow the tips as she flexes and curls her hand over the shoulder.
I fell in love with Akali when Pop/stars came out (lmao still my picture) and expected to play her a lot but I'm a Vayne main🗿

BTW. One thing you should know Riot isent just throwing money at random people telling them to make them things , they have a music production team & video team at Riot. It's like a branch of riot games that dose all these. Video even got there own like league animated series.
Yes absolutely, good clarification. However Riot did outsourced to Stone Music Entertainment for the recording of MORE. And typically the producer of the song is a freelancer and doesn't work directly for either company. But yes ALL creative decisions, Video and Music, are made in house at Riot. Their team is so incredibly talented! thanks for the comment.
Wait Kda isn't a Kpop Band. it's composed of 2 korean idols from (G) I-DLE namely Soyeon (akali) our Main rapper, and Miyeon (Ahri) Our main Vocalist and Leader of Kda. And 2 American Singers namely Madison Beer (Evelynn) our lead vocalist and Jaira Burns (Kaisa) our lead dancer, lead vocalist and rapper. And lastly the Collaborating member of Kda seraphine, which is a Chinese, voiced by Lexie Liu.
I Hope everyone acknowledges the American Singers too, because it hurts to think that people know they're a Kpop group even if they're not. and two of the members are great but underated American Singers.
At 5:58 I actually did point this out. Sorry if it was not clear. However they are owned by a Korean record label Stone Music Entertainment. This would inherently make them a kpop band. You don’t have to have all Korean members to be considered a kpop band. It’s about the label you are singed to. Thank you for your comment. 🙏

This is also the fourth time they used a fictional group's song release to promote a Skin line. First was Pentakill, then was K/DA Pop-Stars, then True Damage's GIANTS, and finally the All Out EP for the second K/DA skin line.

If you haven't seen their first video (but it sounds like you did, not sure) *POP/STARS* from 2018 you gotta check it out, it's just as Fire, they also performed it live ONCE at the League Of Legends World Championships, they used "Augmented Reality" to have the animated characters perform alongside the real singers, they even had shadows on the stage!

The Baddest is such an incredible track, easily K/DA's best so far (and that's saying something because Pop/Stars, I'll Show You, Drum go Dum and More are also sick).

i'm so jealous of what you know lol... i'm just an ancient and the last time i remember feeling what i felt when i heard K/DA was when young me first heard The Prodigy. Just absolutely saturated, given so much yet strung out for more, "YES! THIS is what my ears want!!!" lose my mind, dominated and left twitching. I can't imagine how much more insane this must be to take in when you actually understand the production and know what it took to pull this off.

Gorillaz was the first "virtual band". Vocaloid singers (which Hatsune Miku popularized as one of the first major Vocaloid stars; 'she' literally sold out stadiums in Japan) were next. But Riot definitely brought a different element to "fictional"/virtual bands and possibly keyed in on the turning of the zeitgeist. Gorillaz was ahead of its time and does a lot of concept albums. Vocaloids/Hatsune Miku are a novelty that showcases technology. Pentakill, K/DA and True Damage are culminations of decades of development in the virtual music scene, in a way. It's an interesting thought that I never had before.
