The fact that Riordan seems to be closely involved with the project is a VERY good sign. When they made the movies they basically kept him at arms length and it showed.
He is going to be great as Percy. Also, if the first line is “Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood” then just it’ll make a lot of people very happy. Your excitement was like mine, I was just running around a room not knowing what to do. This part stuck out to me when you read his date of birth and said he was a baby, in your eyes, I’m also a baby. Interesting to know.
No offense, but he looks more like Grover (book version) than Percy. I think he would’ve been better for that role.

I feel the opposite... it was very awkward and you know, exactly what you would expect from a young actor. But it wasn't good
It's nice knowing that he is a big fan of the series because that means he will love working on the project I also hope that green eye contact lenses work because I feel in a way that is a very important physical feature he has but I am 100% sure the show will work out great and I bet this kid is already nervous to find out who Annabeth us because of the kids in the battle of the labrynth and the underwater kiss

i think that they will put contact lenses in bc in the adam project he has contacts so he isnt/shouldnt be allergic to them
He won't have to worry about that stuff for a couple of years at least. But he will have to be able to work with whoever is the annabeth actress.

OMG OMG, I soooo didn’t expect our new Percy to look like this, but to be honest he’s pretty cute and I can kind of imagine him with black hair. So I guess it works and I’m so relived for the age !
I think they made the right choice with Walker. Child actors are hit and miss and Walker excelled in both his spitfire humor and dramatic performance in The Adam Project, I wish him the best of luck!
I kid you not I saw the movie The Adam project when it first came out and was literally thinking wow that kid should play Percy Jackson in the tv show.
Honestly seems like a perfect fit. I don’t see them screwing up another adaptation so I’ve got high hopes for this kid!

as soon as I found out it was him I went to watch the Adam Project straight away lol. Watched it last night. He is very talented. Definitely has the Percy humour/comedic timing. Some scenes in the Adam Project could literally be scenes in The lightining thief it just made me so happy. I cannot wait to see the show! If they start filming this summer it will probably come out late next year? 2023... who knows. ahhhhhh
also in the adam project he had brown contacts (to match Ryan Reynolds' eyes) so he is not allergic!! Also I think his hair is actually brown it just has some left-over blonde from when he dyed it in Adam Project... I think he dyed it at least idk. But yh I'm sure they will dye it black for Percy
@@giulial5011 ye in the adam project his hair was dyed lighter. naturally his hair is a medium to dark brown i think
My guess is it would drop early 2023 maybe January but the best bet would be when the book released which would be June
I watched The Adam Project a bit ago, kinda soon to when it came out and then I got super excited when I found out he was gonna be playing Percy! It felt like my whole life was coning together and I’m not even a part of it!! I’m so excited to see him play Percy
When you listen to his voice, it sounds like Percy's voice if you imagined it before. And he has the same sort of awkward smile Percy probably has. He honestly is to perfect for the role.
FYI: he already wore contacts for the Adam Project! So we know he’s not allergic

the best part is that this news was released on my birthday (so thanks Rick for the bday present) and I was just checking my phone during class when I saw that on twitter and istg I felt so many different emotions and my friends actually started asking if I was okay lmao

its going to be so fun watching percys life from his 12yr old self up to his 16yr old self whilst also being 13 like the actor so i can watch us both grow up
Wow this is incredible. I didn’t know what to say when I saw that he was going to be Percy Jackson. he is perfect for the role and with black hair and contact lenses, he is going to be perfect!!! I am so excited to see who is going to play Annabeth and Grover. Sure they are going to be perfect, if Rick Riordan choose them!!!

I really wasn't expecting to actually know any of the main cast, since they're so young, so this was a cool surprise. Also, on the topic of green eyes, the color could also be changed in post processing if they didn't want to do contacts.
I was reading again the whole saga after 5 years and fell in love again with that universe... so yes I AM HYPED FOR THAT SERIE

I literally found this out this morning when i woke up (which was 6:00am, PH time), and I was so excited. Walker Scobell was so amazing at the Adam Project, and him being into the books makes me like him even more.

I have watched The Adam Project and he was AMAZING in it. He was very comedic and heroic at the same time in the film- I'm sure he'll do perfectly for Percy's role.

He’s so perfect for the role I’m glad the show seems to already be off to a good start. Honestly, I can picture him as Percy, which rarely happens with book to movie adaptations, and he can wear contacts and dye his hair and omg omg he’s just so perfect for it, and he’s so naturally funny and he’ll be a hilarious main character, I physically can’t contain my excitement for something so long-awaited by me and the fandom!!!

I love Percy so much and i'm excited and scared at the same time, because i've seen many series destroy my favorite books but i can't help but scream with excitement when i imagine him as Percy. I trust Rick knows what he's doing
Think he’s a great choice, my only concern is the dyslexia and ADHD part… I’m sure he’s an excellent actor, but dyslexia and ADHD aren’t as easy to imitate as one might think. I know from having dyslexia and ADHD myself. But I’m sure they’re working with professionals to get it just right

I saw the Adam Project, and Rick's right. Walker is absolutely PERFECT to play Percy Jackson. Aryan was a lot of fun in Cheaper by the Dozen. Can't speak for Leah yet, but I'm confident that Rick is casting the right people.
I know Percy has green eyes but I imagine that will be the biggest debate because Walker's eyes are literally ocean blue. But I hope someone has shown you his Deadpool monologue, he is so funny.
