This is beautiful. I love horses and the traditions around that noble animals.I know it is for safety, but Why they don't just tie the horses tails while working instead of cutting off ? That magnificent and powerful animals deserve to keep their long and fuzzy tails. Their bottoms look very weird.

Lazyidiot24 cutting tails is forbidden since many years.

Docking prevents the reins from getting caught under the tail, but an extra pair of rings on the britching would take care of that. Unless you're logging, the extra safety doesn't justify a cut. For road and field work the tail can simply be thinned and shortened.
