It would be cool if for a hypothetical "Chainsaw Man Part 3:" that Tatsuki Fujimoto makes it a prequel which actually shows us Makima's life from when she was a teenager, up until she joined the Public Safety Devil Hunters. This could expand further on the lore of the series, the history of the World, how things were when she was younger, and her difficulties working with people, due to her Control Devil power. Plenty of horror elements could be implemented into this, too, as I'm sure she did a LOT of bad stuff when she was younger. This in turn; would also make the sales explode. Part 2 (in my opinion) is very underrated, and has redeeming qualities to it that many are overlooking, however, this would be a far more successful continuation of the manga.
Some side-notes I'd also like to add for further clarification: This video is about a prime, composite Makima.
1. At around 17:00, when I'm talking about "Planetary and Beyond" I'm referring to The Darkness Devil, here. I'm trying to showcase how far above it scales compared to The Gun Devil. You could go crazy with The Darkness Devil scaling, and even imply it could control the concept of Darkness itself, which could mean it has authority over any place in the Universe which is dark + the battle speed argument I made.
2. If Makima uses Santa Claus' abilities, or the Zombie Devil, she could be a major world-wide problem.
3. She might have mind resistance hax towards The Cosmic Devil. Potentially would assist her if she fought someone like Gojo?
4. When she makes people explode, it may actually be her commanding the individual to implode. Also, her not doing it to the Katana Devil, is either because he can regenerate, or because she doesn't know his legitimate name. However, Akane was terrified they were gonna get taken out, too, so I believe it's the lack of knowledge of his name.
5. If I have forgotten anything, please remind me in the comment section. I can cover anything I may have missed, in the second video on The Chainsaw Man.

I think Makima wanted Akane's body to use her contract with the Snake Devil. If Akane was imploded I don't think Makima could restore her, unlike being decapitated, wich allowed to just atach her head back to her body.

I think it should be noted that Makima was NOT erased from existence by getting eaten by Denji, since she was eaten by Denji and not the chainsaw man. We know this since she DID come back again in the form of Najuta. The actual reason Makima died when consumed by Denji was because her power only reflected attacks and Denji didn't see it as an attack, but rather as an act of love.

Great video. Small bit of perspective - The Primal Fears are all supposed to be fears that we have instinctively, so Darkness and Falling are equals. The Falling Devil not only represents the instinctual fear of physically falling, but the fear of failing, regressing, deteriorating, ect. It's the fear of metaphorically falling. Same type of logic goes toward the Darkness Devil, which is why there are themes of general mutilation and space included in it.
100% agree. But from a raw power-scaling perspective, the dark is a much more consistent fear because it is so broad, that it even scares animals which can fly, and this fear can be seen as irrational, even as an adult. I know plenty of people who don't fear heights, yet, as kids AND adults; fear the dark. Obviously, it's just my interpretation of the feats, but it's a good argument to make.

@@ClydeRUclipsr I think people can be ok with high heights, but not with falling, I mean, the moment you start to fall by instinc you try to stay up, or at least protect your body.
The higher the fall the bigger the fear, but there's a big diference betwen falling by choice, and falling by accident.
The first one can be fun (the many sports that involve falling) but the second can scare anyone.

With darkness, you have no knowledge, and thus no control of what is in the darkness, and that is terrifying. But equally terrifying is knowing what is happening, but having no ability to stop it, which is what falling is. I would argue that they are equals

I'd argue that she might lose in a pure physical fist fight. However, knowing Makima, she wouldn't even be fighting in the first place. She'd make the Demon Slayer characters kill themselves without even lifting a finger.

Honestly, Makima is a great analogy to the "Big Brother", AKA any autoritharian state. The way characters fear she is there even when It's impossible for her to be listening is basically what peple face under a police state of a Mao or Stalin. The difference is that dictators can only project this omnipresence while Makima literally has such reach.

Fun fact: The arms in the back of the darkness devil actually spell out "Makima"
It's just crazy to me that most of the youtube videos I saw about Makima vs X(specifically Gojo from JJK), Gojo is always considered to "win and it's not even close", when in reality, it's just crazy stupid how powerful Makima is when she basically has control over the entire world, every devil hunter and their contracts, and all the possible combinations of their powers and abilities that she can easily find a way to just kill Gojo without having to pass through his infinity.
They constantly downplay her full capabilities, put her in positions that normally she would never be in, and act as if her defeat to Denji was something that happened to her while in full desperation to beat him with all of her abilities, when in reality, she more or less just let it all happen.

It’s crazy that the only reason why Makima lost was because she was just so powerful that the only thing she could do was look down on humans. Ultimately came back to bite her on every part of her body but at least she took a lot of people down with her.

1. Feeling bad for ruining Denji's trip with Makima, Power lets him drink her blood
2. Power can live as long as her blood exists
3. Makima kills Power but her blood is still inside Denji
4. With Power's blood inside Denji, she creates a contract with him in his mind saying in return for her giving him blood, he must find her reincarnated form and turn it back into Power
5. Denji comes up with a plan to use the blood Power gave him to slice Makima open and let her blood keep Makima from regenerating
6. Denji finds a loophole in Makima's contract with the prime minister allowing him to kill Makima as long as he sees "becoming one with her" (i.e. eating her) as an act of love and not an attack
Everything here makes sense in CSM's universe. If you mean Denji's whole eating Makima thing was the "power of friendship/love" it's not because it makes sense and isn't just "protagonist gains a burst of strength out of motivation to protect his friends in order to beat villain"

Makima doesnt scale to Darkness Devil, she is not a primal fear. The only thing she could have done there was to escape. Whilst she made Darkness bleed, it instahealed itself 1 panel later. Makima knew that she coudnt kill it herself. She doesnt go "toe-to-toe" with Darkness nor can she control it ever. Same thing could be said to Falling Devil since she too is a primal fear. Also many Devils can be considered "immortals" so her immortality isnt really something that "scales her" since Darkness could kill her over and over just pointing at her and Darkness only needs Dark to regenerate(which he literally creates with his presence).
She might actually be a technical primal fear. Control is a vague thing. Take falling for example. Falling is a primal fear. It’s also a situation where a victim of falling has no CONTROL. Almost every situation where you can die, we are afraid of it because it’s out of our control. Death itself is out of our control. That’s why the 4 horsemen are so connected. Control is connected to death, war, famine. Famine is connected to control, war and death (and it’s also a primal fear). War is connected to control, famine and death. Death is the ultimate primal fear. You could make the argument that control, famine and death are all primal fears. Famine and death are definitely primal. Control is debatable. War isn’t in even in the debate.

@@vali4478 I know this is a bit late but she could just control fami and yoru so that if a primal fear were to cause world damaging affects it would only amp them. Plus if she was rlly desperate she'd contract with the world leaders via teleportation and control.
The most fascinating thing for me about Makima, is how much she is suffocate you just for her presence, she makes you uncomfortable not doing much, so this for me is pure geniality coming from Fujimoto's art and script.
She can use the animal to spy so that means she uses them to get people's names so she can kill them from range. For the Yakuza she saved Aki from, she got their names from the other Yakuza she threatened (before killing them all too) so she didn't need animals there.

Whats crazy about Makima is that she pretty much scales higher as time goes on and she gains more powers. Like her current incarnation is weaker right now...but she could scale just as hard. Makima was likely much weaker with just her base powers when she began but she worked her way up into being able to go toe to toe with Darkness. I don't think at a base level she is on his tier (her immortality isn't inherent, she had to make that contract to get it and would likely lose to a lot of characters without it). But her abilities are so versatile that they give her the ability to almost give herself whatever she wants in terms of controlling people who have one she wants.
Can't wait for the anime to get into more of the feats and insane Makima moments. Really hope they do her character justice as the story gets more insane

The Powerscaling Devil was born after Dragon Ball Z ended, because mangakas and battle shounen aficionados now fear the damage instituting hard power limits can actually be to the story of a battle shounen manga even though powerscaling was mocked when it was used simply because fans took it so seriously.
Definitely one of the strongest characters in Chainsaw Man so far.

Makima is soo cool man, easily one of the best characters to come out of Shonen recently

Like he didn’t write Asa purely to be a female protagonist, he made Asa to be this social awkward, kinda down to earth and relatable character who happens to be a female, same with Makima🙏.

@@7gone7 get it. Makima’s gender does serve an intentional purpose to the story, which is to seduce denji into a life of comfort. But she was also written in a way where her gender was not her main identity. She wasn’t a female antagonist. She was a cool antagonist who just happens to be female. If Makima was written as a dude, I feel like she would still do the same thing she did.
Personally I don't think Makima scales to the darkness devil. Hurting someone and being equal to them isn't the same thing. You can make the argument that the darkness devil was less damaged and more surprised that Makima actually damaged it. I don't see primal fear devils getting challenged in any way very often.
Even if you don’t think she scales directly to it she is at least relative to darkness

Like CSM, Gantz is a manga where the mystery, the suspense, and the pacing are always interesting with each chapter. I urge everyone to at the very least read it.

When I first saw Makima's face, it gave me a feeling of "something is not right about her" and then later on I discovered the door scene.
At that point I realised what that feeling was. Seeing her face made my brain immediately realized "She is an enemy".
And now everytime I see Makima, I can think of only one thing: Murder, murder, murder!!!
Yeah when I saw her I always had a bad feeling. It felt like she was always wearing a mask and the only time she was genuine was when she was crying at the theaters.

To be fair... When Makima steps out of train car to meet Tendo and Kurose was way better shown in anime than in manga. The absolute terror in Makima's eyes is what always catches my eyes. This feeling doesn't occur to me when reading it on manga...

Just reread the manga and the story really does feel different knowing about Makima, I was so interested in her I didn’t realise how manipulative she was to Denji
The only reason Makima lost was because A. She wanted to retrieve Pochita so couldn’t obliterate Denji and B. Power’s blood could significantly slow her regeneration.

humans are born with the innate fear of falling, it’s inavoidable. meanwhile such things as darkness or fear or dark are relitive to some (blindness, colorblind) since they don’t have those concepts. I think falling devil is pretty fairly scaled

Makima is terrifying in some ways i think of her like the personification of gaslighting and manipulation, there could be real people that manipulative(similar reason i was terrifiedof frolo as a child). I like Power she's awesome and fairly innocent

Its entirely up you interpretation is his power would even work on her as the devil of literal control or if her mind control would work on him as something "beneath her". There is no he just wins here
While I think how she was taken out was a little anticlimactic, I still enjoyed Makima's entire arc more than almost any other character in a long time, what an absolutely amazing character.

The Falling Devil is actually equal to the Darkness Devil, because the concept of "primal fears" comes from a study that lists Darkness and Falling as the two fears that even babies are born with. This is why Falling Devil is even a Primal Fear at all.
(Another relevant study for the series lists a hierarchy of fears, with Death as number 1 and Loss of Control as number 3. Coincidentally, all three horsemen that aren't Death have abilities that let them take ownership and control of others, Makima is just the most direct example of that. Also... Mutilation seems like a pretty decent fit for Chainsaw Man.)
I think Makima is easily one of the greatest villains in the history of fiction. Certainly THE greatest female villain I’ve ever read.

Scaling Makima is a bit weird because she falls under the same category as Kabuto because when doing verse battles no one ever just gives Kabuto every reanimation he has access to. Mind you Kabuto should be able to control even Madara if he activates and leaves on the tag.
As reanimations have only been shown to become free when they are being released or have access to their emotions.
Not true, Madara can break and reincarnate from the jitsu, it's literally part of the plot. Same with the other 4 hokage but they can't incarnate
@@Wavedashnoir Madara was left with his personality intact. If Kabuto had just placed his tag in Madara’s head he could have put him in autonomous mode which we have never seen any reanimation break out of.

I think people overestimate a bit how much Makima did to Darkness Devil she got the shot off on him just by the element of surprise and even then he reacted to it and after that, he just folded her.
They both faced each other and attacked at the same time. She wasn’t going all out, and along with that, she was still able to get everyone out in time.

Makima is without a doubt one of the two scariest villains I’ve ever seen in fiction, the other one being Gaunter O'Dimm, which is funny, because the two are very alike. Both are otherworldly beings masking in the body of a kind stranger. Both can hear and influence the happenings far away from them. Both will offer you help, just to then take it away in the most brutal way possible
Makima is extremely overrated, Gaunter o'Dimm is far greater😅
@@Mitakaaaaaa I respect your opinion, but I'd say Makima in anime adaptation will be as scary. Gaunter is terrifying because you experience him in game, where it makes you feel powerless. But Makima is currently just in manga form, therefore her true terror doesn't stand out as much imo
