She popped a 4:24 1500m (almost 1 Mile run), and if she stayed on pace or better with a strong kick she is looking at a 4:36 to 4:37 1600m run. The fastest I ever ran the 1600m in High School (my last race of my senior year - 81) was 4:43 (and I missed the cutoff of 4:40 to qualify for State). Okay, I feel really inept. But give her credit; her form the whole way is flawless and she goes out at 3/4 kick and stays with it the whole way. Most people start out at 3/4 kick to get a place in the pack and then dial back a little to stay on pace. Not her, she puts maximum distance from the pack and just runs them down. I saw another video of her in the 5K and she lapped most other runners 3 times over on the track. She will be qualifying for the Olympics next spring.
she runs very efficiently, you can see other runner are hopping as they run, katelyn seems to glide across the ground and head head doesn't bob up and down. You can see the other girls hairs flayling side to side but katelyns really still.
Either the big clock on display is not official or they have Affirmative Action people doing the time-keeping. It is easy to pause the video where she's a good 2 feet clear of the finish line and the clock shows 4:23.9
Daniel Alvarez the boys high school record in my school is 4:37... sure she may not win any races, but she can definitely do great against some fairly talented young men.
When showing races, please put a clock up so we can see the splits to get an idea of the pacing. Thought that was obvious, but apparently not. They is a great runner though. Be interesting to see if she can make the Olympics, and at what level she’ll be at.
this doesn’t add up .. they did like 8 or so laps and they said it was the 1500 meter run. 1600 m is a mile and 4 laps so that doesn’t make sense but oh well. Ik people are probs gonna correct me some how
BangBANG1 1: They are not auditioning for CBS Sports. This is FloTrack. They know running. They are avid track enthusiasts; they are competitive runners and coaches, as am I, not ESPN (thankfully). They are providing us with videos of Katelyn, who is being ignored by the national sports networks. I would never have seen Katelyn run without their videos. Just enjoy the subject matter: a generational athlete with God-given talent. A gift. World class, with Olympic gold medal potential. Stop pushing aside the colorful flowers to find the drab weed.
@@WesW3187 You're reading too much into it. That wasn't a teacher, that was a staff member, who mostly went to collect her since she broke a record. She had no reason to stay, if they were giving awards, the runners who placed no.2 and .3 would have came with her.
Forgive me for being pedantic but the races spelling is incorrect. It's 1500 metre...not meter. Metre is a measure of distance. Meter is a device for measuring something or at least recording it. Please stop crucifying English.
the problem with runners going out all hard like that is that they will burnout and not finish. Katelyn fucking kills everybody and goes all out to the finish
And if the camera person lowered the camera just a little when Katelynn was on the back stretch, we could have seen the other runners throughout the race.

all these girls would have beaten me in HS
RESPECT.....Katelyn is a pleasure to watch...true and obvious talent
You can see the other girls hairs flayling side to side but katelyns really still.
interesting indoor running. and She is awesome. 4:24 1.5km? wt...good!
Please post the 3K!!! - that was obviously the interesting race.
8:45 won the World Indoor Championships and Tuohy has run 9:01 already still in HS?
Oh she went for a post 3k jog
Katelyn was so far ahead of the rest she is in a league of her own and made that run look like something she does daily before breakfast
I'm finishing my freshman year of college and I have improved VASTLY from high school and yet this 16 year old girl would still beat me
Either the big clock on display is not official or they have Affirmative Action people doing the time-keeping. It is easy to pause the video where she's a good 2 feet clear of the finish line and the clock shows 4:23.9
Queen!
the way how after she ended she just went "aight im out" like it was nothing
Amazing athlete to hone that natural ability.
This kid is amazing
Daniel Alvarez the boys high school record in my school is 4:37... sure she may not win any races, but she can definitely do great against some fairly talented young men.
Katelyn's mile is 4:33
5:35 love the last ditch effort for not wanting to come in last place lol
9
When showing races, please put a clock up so we can see the splits to get an idea of the pacing. Thought that was obvious, but apparently not. They is a great runner though. Be interesting to see if she can make the Olympics, and at what level she’ll be at.
she had just ran 3k and done 9:15?!! and then backed up with another good time?!
Then there’s me running it 6 minutes and 20 seconds
Amazing time
"1500m in 4'24" "
Amazing 🎉
"After running 9'12" 3000m"
WhAt!?????
ALL PARTICIPANTS /PLAYERS IS STAMINA FULL, PRACTICE FULL, TECHNICAL FULL, POWERFUL, AND STRONG. ........
BUT WINER IS WONDERFUL. .....
beautiful runner
this doesn’t add up .. they did like 8 or so laps and they said it was the 1500 meter run. 1600 m is a mile and 4 laps so that doesn’t make sense but oh well. Ik people are probs gonna correct me some how
It's an indoor track, not sure how many meters there are in an indoor track, but it's less than 400 meters which is why they did more
Caleigh B it’s a 200 meter track
Alaniz Macias k yeah that’s what I thought thanks
xxQueenEstherxx Oh okay gotchu
Beautifully awesome!
I hope these announcers are new. They are not good
BangBANG1 1: They are not auditioning for CBS Sports.
Some high school runners would be better lol
Nigga wtf gay ass profile pic
Jacque I’m not ure nigga.
Hahaha
And where has this young lady, Katelyn Tuohy, been? I miss seeing her performances this Spring‼️👍🏻👍🏻
She won cross country I heard.

BELL LAP at the 4:35 mark.
How are the runners able to go so fast without stopping for water?
bruh I ran out of breath just by watching
Liked the way she just walked off the track while others were still finishing. "I'm done. See ya slowpokes."
That doesn't seem like good sportsmanship. I think she might have not been feeling well afterwards.
clemont williams The impression I got was a female teacher went after her and brought her back.
@@WesW3187 You're reading too much into it. That wasn't a teacher, that was a staff member, who mostly went to collect her since she broke a record. She had no reason to stay, if they were giving awards, the runners who placed no.2 and .3 would have came with her.
Flolus Which is why I said “The impression I got”.
@@WesW3187 I must have been the one reading too much into your comment. Haha
In fact I like this girl so much, how old is she currently?
Katelyn is a running machine...
always spot her in the line up she tends 2 rock back and forth on the line
Katelyn are best ever
Is there any chance we can 3D-print another one of her?? I'm telling y'all we gotta clone this girl!
This young lady ! --------What a stride; effortless, fast, & beautiful. -----------------------------WolfSky9
Forgive me for being pedantic but the races spelling is incorrect. It's 1500 metre...not meter. Metre is a measure of distance. Meter is a device for measuring something or at least recording it. Please stop crucifying English.
I feel like you should be able to do basic math if you wanna be a track announcer, I was kinda doubting them when they called the 500m point 600m
18 people Katelyn Tuohy lapped voted thumbs down on this video...
...and she just casually walks off the track after the Race while mere humans collapse and gasp for air.
The thumbnail looks like the special olympics is going on at the same time.
She's on a role
,or a roll...
@@watch2112 😂
My 2k time is only 1 minute faster than her 3k
Wow I feel slow
the problem with runners going out all hard like that is that they will burnout and not finish. Katelyn fucking kills everybody and goes all out to the finish
Tuohy is ignored by national media.
A ketelyn é imbatível, onde estão as Quenianas. Nunca vi um ginásio ,de esporte tão completo. Isto sim é governante.
Keep it up
4:24 as a time which means she get around a track at a time of 1:06 maybe, which is faster than my 400🤦🏽♀️ this girl some serious
John Cena still pretty fast
So many irish names 🤠
Hers is very fitting
RULER 👑
5:35 = naruto run
Phenomenal athlete but would be nice to see her congratulate the other competitors instead of just walking off??
Kate Richardson she’s definitely not the most outgoing runner
Why is the camera man so bad?
Because it's flotrack
What’s with the commercials in Spanish? I toughtI live in America? I guess I’m going to dump u from my list.
Announcers are horrid
And if the camera person lowered the camera just a little when Katelynn was on the back stretch, we could have seen the other runners throughout the race.
Dawson Miller it's flotrack, expect nothing else
She’s only 17
What does she eat?
A kid in my town runs a 4:28 mile, he should be on here
see the thing is he is a boy. time standards for boys are more different than girl time standards
I bet shes going to be the first woman to break 4 minute mile mark
shell be disappointed when most guys don't enough stamina
Her jogging is my sprinting. And im a slim athletic guy lol
Those other girls probably dislike her success.
Is that a 300m track?
Is the camera man drunk?
