- Montreux Jazz Festival founder Claude Nobs was a "collector's collector" of music memorabilia, instruments, juke boxes and model trains among many other things. Visit his chalet and see some of it in this video shot during this year's (2022) Jazz Festival. The festival's audio and video archives in the process of being fully digitized are also there as are Freddie Mercury's piano on which he composed and performed "Bohemian Rhapsody", but that along with Mr. Nob's 60,000 or so LPs were not available for viewing. Mr. Nobs died in 2013 a month before his 77th birthday following a skiing accident.
What a collection of music, equipment and memorabilia. Thanks Michael and best of luck with the new endeavour.
I was looking for you.
Mazzy showed me the way!
All the best on your new ventures.
Genuinely excited!
Excellent stuff Sir ... Best of luck with the new channel ... 👍
How lovely…so nice and rich..$$$$
Michael.. First ...good luck..YOU ARE THE KING!!!.. I am sure this will be a great and health change.. I met you back when you were doing your things with TDK(I worked for TDK in LA) back in the 80's. Ironically, I worked in Conklins Stereo in Wyckoff before the TDK days(Lived in Ridgewood)... anyhow--good lick. I'll also mention you in my next You Tube Video. If you have a minute check it out!--anyhow thanks for all you've done for me and for the community. Best regards,
Jack

Invaluable collection of concert recordings from this great festival. I am glad you shared this video. Thank you.
Just subscribed.... Mazzy sent me... and looking forward to getting a wonderful vinyl education! Cheers!
Cool ! I was at the Montreux Jazz festival and saw Plant yesterday
Thank you again for having shared this moment with us !!
Hello Michael,
Enjoying your new channel.
Your review of the SW1X phono preamp in Stereophile reminded me of my Bottlehead Eros2 phono preamp. Also uses pentode-connected EF86s for input, but rather than resistors or chokes uses constant current source loads for all 4 tube plates. At only $825 for the complete kit, it would be worth a review on Trackingangle. Bottlehead supplies premium parts, great instructions and customer support, and the unit sounds superb with both my old 681eee and my new 2M LVB.
If you are attending Pacific Audio Fest in Seattle, it may be possible to schedule a visit to Bottlehead's facility just across Puget Sound.
I really hope someone puts those tapes to good use. It would be great to own them on vinyl.
The Montreux Jazz Festival already has, I own several of them on vinyl.
The ultimate bachelor pad....
Soooo cool. Sub-zero cool :)
Legendary. Illuminating? Nah.
Mazzy sent me here!
Mazzy sent me too. Welcome back Michael.
You gave me a lot of great "screen shots" , the tapes too!
Enjoy Montreux and this beautiful area of Europe that contributed so much to our musical culture
👌👌
Mazzy sent me, checking out your new digs.
Are you still doing video-reports from the different audio-shows? Would also love to see equipment-reviews on TrackingAngle.
They even have "eumatics"😬 in that tape vault!
