I am exploring family connections here, but also to much earlier Payn’s in Ulster (Armagh) and Kilkenny and Cork that seem to belong to family of that name in East Anglia, close to the Botelers who they shared the office of Chief Butler with in the 15th-c.
Ireland was one of the few places in Europe where the Norman's were stopped militarily and reversed. The plantagenet claimed but rarely held Ireland. They claimed france too.
Hopefully, these gain more traction. St. Patrick and the Christians. Worst thing to ever happen to England, Ireland and Scotland. Their behavior was really beyond the pale. lol
