Templeton pink! Farrow and Ball, but try the b and q colour match version for a more sensible price. It's a gentle ,soft, creamy pink. A colour that is so easy to live with. Definitely NOT Barbie pink ! Lovely update. My first home was a Victorian 2 bed house that had been lived in by an elderly man who had been born in the main bedroom, and his mother had lived there for years previously. It's lovely to feel part of the "chain" of a house's existence. The house will look after you and keep you safe. Good luck!
I can still remember how I felt after moving to York from London just over 25 years ago - still doesn't feel that long to be honest - and the actual thrill of being able to walk from my house into the City centre. Hope you will both be very happy back in York.
My kitty loves to play on the stairs, stairs are very good exercise for cats. My kitty when she is scared or nervous loved to go under a blanket tent, we throw a blanket on the couch like a tent where she can go inside to feel safe & sleep.
I love seeing people moving out from cities like London. I myself recognised a little while ago that capitals aren't the best places, they lure us with jobs and then squeeze all the juices. I live in Berlin, but am planning to move to a smaller quieter city, Brandenburg an der Havel. Wish you all the best in your new place!
If we'd had enough money to have a bigger flat (so I wasn't working in the living room) I think we might have stayed but we just didn't have the money. If we win the lottery, we'll be back 🤣
That is so nice that you found a place you really love! I totally understand some of the little day to day things such as the sound of the rain. I lived in an apartment with very thick hurricane proof windows and I couldn’t hear the rain at all, it was very sad. York is one of the places I want to visit when I go to the UK again. Please share a bit of the city and some of your favorite places. :)
I have to admit that I’m finding great comfort in your joy at moving! We’re in the depths of a nightmare buying/selling process and seeing this is reminding me of why we’re doing it! I’m so happy for you, Ben and the cats and your books look fab! ☺️💛🍫
As one of your first authors in your publishing journey, I love this video! I loved it when you both married, but now, I love it that you moved from London to the place which fills your heart with happiness. Hugs to you and Ben. See you again soon. GX
Loved this little catchup and set up. Welcome to my beautiful home county, I hope you and Ben will be very happy here. You have so many incredible places on your doorstep now so it’ll be lovely to see them in your videos at some point in time but for now enjoy making your home your own.
So happy you're all settling in nicely, and the cats now have a sunny spot! It would be lovely if you keep us updated on the history of the house, it's so interesting. Best Wishes 💕 🍫
This is such a lovely update. So happy you have moved back to where you want to be! I remember when I was in a flat I was desperate to just go upstairs to bed. Was such a nice feeling when I moved into my house but I bought a 3 storey house and originally took the attic bedroom... Quickly decided there were too many stairs 😅 But you're so right, cats LOVE stairs!
I love that you’re researching the history of your house and I’d like to hear more about it. One of my favourite TV series is the BBC’s “A House Through Time” in which David Olusoga tells the stories of individual houses and their owners over a period of time. I'm happy that you're settling in so well, and that the air smells of chocolate.😀🍫
I love this new background! It's colourful and vibrant yet at the same time relaxing. I love that you researched "your family" 😊 If any ghosts come knocking at least you'll know who you're talking to 😂😂 Glad that you're settled in, I hope you both have many happy years together in your new home!
I absolutely love that you went a did research on the previous family who owned your house! Hopefully you get a chance to find their graves in the cemetery! That's so cool🍫
Congratulations on settling into your new home! So nice to hear that you are happy.🌟 I really like the new bookshelves, love the idea of painting them green and having pink walls.🍫
Thank you! I am rather fond of colour-coded bookshelves! It's my work backdrop and I get lots of compliments from authors so I think they're going to stay that way.
Claire! Despite the hardships you look so happy in this, I'm oddly excited that you're so excited about your new life! ❤ The set-up looks stunning, can we look forward to more house content once it's closer to your vision? 👀 Can't wait for your next one, congratulations on your move! 🍫🤎
Thank you! Absolutely, we're planning to be in this house for at least 5-10 years so hoping to share bits of our journey once we've saved up enough money to start the renovation works 🏠
Congratulations on the move. I know exactly how you felt when describing the moving process. We bought our house last year but it took a year of bank negotiating, changing banks, multiple houses falling through, bidding wars that went way out of our budget etc..before we finally bought the home we are in. But it took weeks before I could finally relax and believe that it was over. Take care of yourself now that you are finally home. X
Hello Claire! I hope all is well with you now that you are getting settled and that the stress level will continue to diminish. I look forward to seeing your videos on York and your new place. Have a great week. 🍩
Great video, Claire! So happy you're settling in nicely and I also enjoyed hearing about the history of your home :-) I was born in NZ, but my maternal side of the family is from Yorkshire, so it's really nice to hear about that neck of the woods!🐈🍫🍬📚
🍫 welcome back to Yorkshire, Claire! love the way you’ve researched the history of your new home, what a special way to acknowledge the legacy of the house! there’s a BookTuber meetup in York that Katie Lumsden is arranging for the summer months, let me know if you’d like me to pass details along x
Wonderful catch up! Looking forward to hearing and seeing more of your adventures in York! That research you did/are doing about your "little family" sounds fascinating! More about that please! 🍫🍫🍫🍫
So excited for you! 🥰 I’m glad that you’re settling in. I loved hearing the history of the house and the previous families. Can’t wait to see more vlogs from York 🍫
Now you can update your FAQ section above to "I live in Yorkshire"! Great that you can see stars now, hear birds singing and the cats are happy with their new home too. Hope you get a little reading before bedtime.
congrats on the move - hope you're enjoying the change! 💐🫖🏠 🍫 looking forward to future vlogs 😊 enjoyed your sharing of what York is like. The book shelves look beautiful!!
I just 'met' you yesterday in a book video of Ariel's and then discovered your videos here. What a delight to meet you and now see how happy you are with your new home. You describe everything so well, I feel I am right there in the room hearing the rain (love that too!) and the pigeon in the chimney (hope it flew out!) and seeing the cats in the sunbeams. I look forward to hearing how your life as the stewards of this home unfolds in whatever colorful shape that takes. Make sure to watch videos before painting your Billys to avoid paint chipping. All the best to you and Ben! 🍫
All you need in a house is love and books. Everything else is a bonus.
100% ❤ Though less mould would be fab too 🤣
🍫A lovely catch-up! Your new setup looks great. 📚 Congratulations on your move and on your new home. Excited to be able to "see" some of York.
Thank you so much!
Your bookshelves look gorgeous. Congratulations on moving to York. 🍫🍫🍫
Thank you!!

I couldn't agree more with being a part of the chain! We're hoping to give the house some well-deserved TLC!

I'm so glad you're finally home even though there were so many glitches along the way. Congrats on your new home!!!
Thank you! It's been quite the journey but SO worth it!
🍫 I work not far from Nestle and love the chocolate smell. Years back I had a terraced house close to the factory which was lovely!
🍫 Great to hear that you are settling in well. The history of your ‘family’ sounds fascinating.

I haven't found them yet but I'll keep you updated 🪦
🍫 new subscriber, Ariel sent me 🎉 would be fascinating to learn more about the original owners of the house.

It's only just feeling normal! We've been absolutely shattered for the first few months. Loving being back in York though so it'll all be worth it 😊

I think york sounds like a beautiful place ❤ and smells like chocolate 🍫 love to see you are doing good
You might want to switch your black Penguins with the shelf below it to bring the heavier color to that line. 🍪
The problem is that I want to keep my classics collection together and in my mind the black Penguins come first 🤣 You’re probably right though ahaha
OMG the bookshelves look amazing ! 🔥
Congratulations on the move! Lovely new filming set up 🍫
Thank you so much Katie ❤
