Actually, without understanding the Bangla language, it's hard to understand the value of this song. Cause each and every word and phrases are literal emotions here. The melody is just 5% of this song. You know, we cried out the first time when we listened to this song. Even Arnob cried while singing with Ripon.

  • @ikhtiarsobhan
    @ikhtiarsobhan 2 года назад +127

You will understand better if you concentrate on the themes, rather than on the actual lyrics.
Both of the songs is about longing for the loved ones. Both of the singers are away from their loved ones but expressing in a bit differently.
Arnob is singing it from the urban perspective, where people are more restrained, they hold back their emotions. He is missing his loved one deeply but he is reluctant to say it directly, or not sure how to say it. One of the line Arnob singing is "ei kothata kemne boli" which means "how can I tell her" (that I am missing her that much).
Ripon is singing and wailing unrestrained. He is from the rural part of the country where they do not hold back their emotions in the name of civility. He is saying directly what he is feeling and asking his love to come back to him. No holds bar, so you can feel the emotion much more directly.
    Hope this helps.

It was released in 'Buddha Purnima'.( According to Bangladeshi time) The most special day for the Buddhist community. You might have already figured out that Coke Studio Bangla has targeted the festival/special days mostly celebrated in Bangladesh to release its songs. This song depicted one's eternal longing for his/her loved ones, waiting and the bittersweet feelings of it. Probably it also reminds us about the pain and longing of Gautam Buddha's wife Yashodhara (Joshodhora in Bengali) when He left His home to know about life's greater meaning. But nobody talked about the wife who was left behind. It's just a thought. Somehow can be related with this particular song's plot.
And I have been literally listening it from the time it was released. Was also waiting for your review! I am so happy that you have felt it from the core of your heart. Precious reaction indeed!

That man, Ornob, is a legendary Musician from Bangladesh, known for his wonderfully unique works with rich indigenous musical elements this land has to offer & also fusing them with modern contemporary elements. FYI, he also happens to be the Producer of this season.

  • @ulfatarrafikhan5427

In Arnob part, he is missing his loved one so much and thinking about her all the time.
The high pitch part that was sang by Ripon, he is wishing if his loved one could came to him as he is far away from her.
The high pitch is actually a traditional Bangali Style. This is called "Bhawaiya " that is a type of folk music.

Part of the trick behind this song is the way Boga is singing. It's a style of folk song called Bha-wai-ya. You'll hear a lot of "ha" sounds from his chest. It is supposed to mimic crying.
Bhawaiya songs are all songs of longing and incompleteness. The men of the family in villages had to leave for months on emd for work. Or the the oldest kod had to leave for work. They were written long ago, when people did not have any method of communicating as we do now. They didn't know if their loved one would come back.
Bhawaiya songs can certainly be for lovers and spouses. But they are also for people who have lost a loved one. A parents, a child, a sibling.
This song is brilliant in that the lyrics apply to any scenario where you have lost someone. Be it; they passed away. Or a failed relationship.
Bhawaiya songs are meant for you to acknowledge and mourn that loss.
There is a lot of delicary in Arnob's delivery. A city folk, the implication is that they're more fanciful and careful with their words. They're able to express more detail about the dynamism of his feelings. He paints a visual picture.
Boga's Bhawaiya touch is someone who is barely hanging on. He's screaming at the sky. Asking his loved one to return. Doesn't matter who it is.
"Just come see me one last time".
We, the listeners can place ourselves very easily into either their situations. Emotions are unpredictable and dynamic. Sometimes you scream at the universe and sometimes, in quiet moments - you sit in your room. And you plead.

The story behind this song (Arnob's part) is actually quite amazing. This was a poetry letter written by a person(Saron) who lived in India to Arnob's sister as she moved back from India to Bangladesh. Saron used to like her and was missing her. So he gave it to Arnob to pass it along to her sister. Arnob then made a song out of this letter.
The words can never be fully translated to English as they will loose a lot of emotions.

The uniqueness of the Bhawaiya song is you can feel the lament in the singer's voice. If you see the original lyrics, you will notice there is a pain of not being able to cry and there is an ardency to cry with a loved one to reduce heartache. Here is talk of separation from not seeing one's beloved one for a long time, which can be anyone, as well as family members too. In this song, 'sweetheart' refers to a longing loved one we can touch and weep to lessen the burden of the heart.

On the other hand, if you hear the mournful cries of lake birds and water geese, they will torment your mind with grief. The resonance of nature's sorrow with the poet's sorrow is what is met here.
The urban part of Arnab, the Bhawaiya part of Ripon, and the grief of nature, all created a harmonious eternal agony through their voice, lyrics, and the painting of our imagination. Specially Ripon, as if he had brought down the goddess of sorrow on earth.
Your reaction is so beautiful. Lots of love 💙💙

You pronounced Chiltey correctly. Roud will be pronounced as 'Ro-u-dh'.
Arnob has transitioned into a music producer/composer over the last ten years. Before that he was a famous singer and a star himself.
And you got the feel of this song just right. It does bring a tear because it is such a soothing song and the lyrics refer to remembering & missing your loved ones and just wishing to see them again.

Yeah, definitely the background looks cozier. Would love to see you experiment with the light, probably green/red! Anyways, you got the song right. Cheers!

Two different song infused together here, Arnob singing an "Urban Ballad" and Ripon Singing a "Vaoyaiya", a folk song from North Western part of Bangladesh and adjacent India. Although the songs are on different tone and different tone, both of them are on same topic: "longing to see their loved one"
