  • This is a review/follow-up video to my unboxing/first impression of the Logitech M650 Bluetooth/USB-A wireless mouse. I used this mouse for a few weeks and have reached some conclusions about it, mostly good. I highly recommend this mouse, see the video for more information and God bless!!

    The side buttons are a godsend for browsing the web, they function as forward and back buttons by default. Also, I believe specific to the M650, holding the side button while using the scroll wheel enables horizontal scrolling

    Thanks for the video. Which one is more comfortable for clicking or more silent? I need one of those to save hand. The conventional clicking mouse hurts hand after so many clicking, then I found Logitech M590, which was amazing but it is not working properly after a few years use. I tried to update driver but it looks like Logitech discontinues M590 so I have to choose between M330 and M650. Which one is better for hand or softer to click? I am not concerned ant other features.

    Thanks for the review. Let's say I connected the USB receiver to my desktop, and paired the mouse with my notebook using Bluetooth, If one of them is out of range, should I expect it automatically connect the other device. For ex. I was using the mouse on my desktop, put it on my bag, went outside and turned on my notebook. Will it connect to my notebook automatically? Or simply without USB dongle If I pair it to both computers using Bluetooth, will it connect either one inside the range?

    This mouse came with my keyboard and wow you are so right. The mouse is so smooth and quiet. The keyboard with it is just as great. Thanks for the review. Just curious, what do the 2 buttons on the side do? I can't figure it out.

    hi, I just bought the Logitech M650 Mouse and I really like it, but I do have a question, I don’t want to use bluetooth, so If I’m using the USB toggle, is there something to click off the Bluetooth on the mouse itself (I have it clicked off on the computer settings) so it doesn’t keeps wanting to search to connect Bluetooth even though I have the toggle connected? I feel that that may be the issue Why at times the mouse cursor freezes on the computer screen when I’m moving it. I appreciate the help.

    I'm waiting to take delivery on the white one. I know the discolorization is gonna be an issue but it looks soo good I couldn't resist. The cotton swab & alcohol suggestion is great. I'll do my best to stay on top of it. My present mouse is the Logitech M535 and It's my favorite mouse of all time. I just felt like getting a new mouse. I've had mice with side buttons functionality but found that I wasn't using them either especially since the M535 scroll wheel rocks to the left to previous page.

      Glad to hear you're trying this one! It's good to get some variation when you use a mouse all day every day! I'm keeping up with the cleaning, I think it's helping. Would've been better for that area to have been hard textured plastic, but it is what it is. Wouldn't have felt as premium, probably. Hope you really enjoy it!

      @@beanbag345 It arrived yesterday and set up was quick & easy. The only glitch is that the programmable functionality of the buttons as far as I'm able to discern after several attempts is only available for MS or Apple devices. The literature clearly states the this mouse is compatible with Chrome OS. It is, but not fully. They ought to have said so. Anyway, the preset back & forward is fine with me. I found a light gray mouse pad on Amazon and am waiting on that. The color combo will be 2kool4skool.
      Regards,

      Did your previous mouse Logitech M535 support horizontal scrolling?

    • @gnolan4281
      @gnolan4281 4 месяца назад

      @@Time2ChooseYou As I remember it did have horizontal side to side scrolling. The M650 doesn't have it which surprised me; I guess I took it for granted that it would. Still, it's not s function that I used very often and the new one (after one year) still looks new and feels a bit more sold and precise in the hand. I've done quite a bit of experimenting with mice and these inexpensive Logitechs make the high dollar ones seem like a waste of money....but I'm not a gamer so can't speak to that aspect.

    I had MX Master 3S
    And the issue was with free spin scrolling. In MX it has two options for scrolling the first one as you explained like the M650 has, and the second is free spin mode. But for both options there are issues.
    For example when you use mode like M650 has, namely smart scrolling, and you are trying to scroll a little bit faster as usual(3-4 consequent moves) up or down it slows down scrolling of a page, and experience like mouse skips your moves.
    The second one in a free spin mode, and that was extremely unexpected - because whe you try scroll, and when wheel is stopped it makes some extra scroll step. For example you stopped on some particular place, and mouse performs extra move on screen (page moves like you scrolled a little)

    • @olehgre
      @olehgre Год назад +1

      I think some similar issue could be present also with M650
      But I'm not sure

    • @beanbag345
      @beanbag345  Год назад +1

      Hey, appreciate the comment and scrolling observations! The M650 scrolling I've found to be solid and very useful. I do see a little of the additional scrolling, one to two lines just after a fast scroll while I'm scrolling back up a bit, it's like it's not entirely sure you're done scrolling. To me, it's a pretty minimal issue as the fast scrolling is still very fast. Haven't used the MX Master, have made the silent clicking a priority in my recent mouse usage. Might have to check it out 👍

    • @olehgre
      @olehgre Год назад

      Agree, but absolutely not expected when you are making some routine work in a fast mode, I mean some work activities switching between some files (docs or code) and try to scroll to the point when you are expecting to find particular place, and that tine when you are trying to focus it happens(extra move) . Slightly annoying thing when you are trying speed up some routine.
      Do you have issue when continuously try to scroll(like with ordinary wheel) but more intense, forcing scrolling, not allowing free spin. In that case I faced with some freeze of scrolling

    should I use Bluetooth or usb receiver to save on battery life? Also does it have smth like auto sleep so that when you are not using it for a while it turns off?

    • @beanbag345
      @beanbag345  2 месяца назад

      I haven't compared the battery life between the USB and Bluetooth usage, I mainly use Bluetooth only. The Logitech website says with Bluetooth you'll get up to 20 months and with USB up to 24 months. I use a rechargeable AA and usually get about 6-8 months before I need to recharge, but I use it all day 5 days a week. It does have a sleep/inactive feature for when you're not using it, wakes up very quickly. You can also turn it on/off with the switch on the bottom.

      I have that same problem of stutters from time to time with the M590, which I still love it. I use Linux Mint and the USB receiver and I haven't been able to pin down the issue. I think it also happened in Windows with Logi software installed. I found out that switching it off and on solves the issue for me.

    I am confused between these 2 mice! Signature is 2700 Indian rupee’s while M331 Silent plus is 1300₹! I am a IT worker and will use mostly for documents and coding! Do you feel the price difference( nearly double ) is worth the signature for side buttons and scroll wheel?

      Been using 2 fantastic M331 for over 3 years (browsing, gaming, video editing), both still working fine with some minor issues. Exterior issue: both rubber will get chipped after ~2 years for me. Functionality, left right buttons softer after 2.5 years; and the reason why I buy the second one is the scroll is dead because I browsed the web so much 😂 now I’ll try M650 for the back/fwd buttons and fast scrolling, hope the scroll last longer this time.

    I have the logitech m650 and it's a great mouse. The silence and the smart scroll but the one thing I hate about it is the shape of the mouse. The way I hold my mouse, this shape isn't comfortable. So long periods of using it makes my wrist and forearm hurt. I'm looking for a new mouse now.

    • @beanbag345
      @beanbag345  9 месяцев назад +1

      The shape was the one concern I had, I tried a Logitech mouse of this shape but larger, M210, I think, that's what that one did for me. This smaller one has worked out great for me, I've been switching out with another couple mice from time to time. Thanks for the comment, I hope you find a great mouse 👍

    • @beanbag345
      @beanbag345  Год назад

      Hey Classic Moments, in the Windows Settings menu, go to devices and click to add a Bluetooth device. On the mouse, press and hold the little button on the underside of the mouse next to the optical sensor until the little light is flashing. When the mouse becomes visible/ shows up on the pairing menu as Logi M650, click to pair.
      You can also use the USB insert from under the battery cover, just plug it into the computer USB port and click the little button on the underside of the mouse once, that should do it.
      Hope this helps!

    • @beanbag345
      @beanbag345  Год назад +1

      This M650 is the standard size, it's a compact mouse so maybe a little smaller than a mouse that'd come standardwith a computer. It has a large version, the M650L, might work better for large hands. The large mouse also has a left handed version, the M650L Left.
