Performance on a standard base PS4 is also miles better for some reason due to driver conflicts.
I would imagine because iirc, the PS4 Pro has the same specs as base PS4, but there are two of the same GPUs instead of one, and AMD's CrossFire never had much success even when multi-GPU setups were popular, so expecting it to work well in 2022 is a lot to ask for

I think it's pretty great that you can run Game Cube games on a newer playstation. I really love that modern consoles are basically just very highly custom PCs. Since they started running AMD APUs, the consoles are a lot more useful for general purpose computing. Like, the Cell CPU in the PS3 was a monster in it's day. Though it was PowerPC architecture, and the RAM config was kinda dumb. Everything I've heard about developing games for the PS3 has been negative, so I can only imagine trying to use it as a PC wouldn't be a good time. I wonder if anyone has made a translation layer to run Xbone games on it. I very much doubt it could emulate them. But the PS4 and PS4 Pro are the more powerful version of the same APU. more or less. It'd be interesting to see if there's anyway to "trick" it into thinking it's running on the Xbox One. Seeing Xbox exclusives on a PS4 would be hilarious

So the bottleneck on the PS4 its definitively the CPU, it holds back the linux gaming experience by a lot. However there is a way to improve CPU performance, OVERCLOKING, yes, 1.6Ghz its way too slow, this gives the CPU a multi core performance similar to a second gen i3. If the CPU could be overclocked to 3-4Ghz then the situation would change drastically, multi core would be on par with a second gen i5. Looks great 👍 can we see more emulators RPCS3 working?
Yeah, if my PC ever needs to have a part replaced, I now know a great PC to turn to would be my PS4!
