For $60, I would've expect this to come with a stand
never expect that from bandai maybe 3rd party kit would have the diligence to provide one

Id still prefer the HG, yes the figure have many details with the correct colors, but it's nothing u can't do to the HG. I painted myself many of those details by hand.
The thing that botheres me the most is, that the p-bandai g-witch Gundam (excluding calibarn and lfrith pre-prod) have the permet moldet ... meanwhile the regular releases come mostly with flat surfaces for stickers

The HG Calibarn was a joy to build. It's gorgeous, too. Even straight built. The stickers on the HG broom were a bit of a pain but they look fantastic. It's unfortunate the RD version doesn't have that shiny green back there... and the display pieces for the bits are very nice to have, but without a stand included? Ugh. That's just Bandai trying to get you to buy an Act 5 base. Either way... build it or buy it, these are two great figures in the end.
HG is better. Price difference is too large to justify minimal improvements.

@@cabnbeeschurgr6440 i mean we do have a 1:100 scale aerial, and while i do have two complaints (two of the gund-bits fall off too easily, and the shield doesn't like to stay on the arm) its an alright kit, in my opinion anyway
$60 with a shorter gun, that is the most disappointing part for me.

I was also confused when the hg had a shield when in anime it clearly doesn't have one, the shield bit was taken from the aeriel after they semi combined if my memory serves me right.

A worse product for three times the price. There’s absolutely no excuse for having figures around when there’s kits. Bandai wasting their resources once again.

I've recently built the HG version of Calibarn and it is one of my favorite builds ever. For 15 bucks I think it looks better than stuff I've paid 50-60 for.
I really wish that Robot Spirits will be a lot more cheaper. Definitely not worth the price but I'm at the point of my life where I'm not enjoying the building process - I just want the gundam. I'm lazy.
To me personally, Robot Spirits are for people who don't want to put effort in building Gunpla kits.
HG is the entry type (I know there are "Entry Grade", but you get the point) of Gunpla, and it is already superior in many aspects.
With $60, you'll be looking to buy an RG kit which is definitely what I'm planning to do when WfM suites enters the lineups
For a figure like this $60 is cheap,
It's just that we are used to pay Bandai model kit prices, which are one of the cheapest kind of "figures" in the world,
An average action figure from SH. figuarts, figma, mafex, Tunshi, snail Shell, they all barely have accesories for this same price, when they do include accesories they cost more than $80 easily
For something like this Calibarn with all the options it's still cheaper than most action figures

the robot damashii was amazing, and have more anime like detail proportion, but damn that blueish grey innerframe were ugly, i think if the innerframe is more greyish just like the HG, or maybe even a little bit of dark metalic grey, it would have been perfect, imo the blueish grey made the innerframe feel more "plasticy" and a cheap one at that

I am once again struck by how good the mechanical design for this show is. If only it wasn't attached to the show it's attached to. C'est la vie.
Newcomer to gunpla and returning to the anime’s. Calibarn/ Aerial frame is my favorite frame of all time. I love the look, the colorway and the way it fights. Such a cool way to get back into Gundam overall
the robot damashi calibarn look cheap because of the grey parts and putting it side by side to hg calibarn make it 3x worst because by a single look you can tell that HG calibarn is more premium even though its cheaper.
the rainbow permet is level 10
and in the final battlle the aerial max score was 8

WFM Robot Spirits honestly shouldn't be in ver anime line. Not even thruster and beam cannon effect part

I'm going to say this review sucks. The high grade it looks better. Pay 15 bucks for really good-looking model. Pay 60 bucks for a plastic looking action figure
Is it just me or the 60$ one's head looks squished. It isn't wide enough so the hg looks way better to me
Ver anime yet still has the support arm for the broom canon that is NOT in the anime
Thats just a limitation of our world. Without the support arm the broom would just be too heavy and drop to the ground and be unable to pose well
Robot Damashii kinda mid. Too small for the price, I would rather put in another 40 bucks for a Metal Robot Spirits figure which is significantly more solid, around 1/120, and SO BEAUTIFUL
Just remember : for $60, you get the MG Narrative ver Ka.
Or atleast 3-4 of the recent RG releases

i personally prefer the HG but even if you don't there's no denying the differences are WAY too close to justify paying quadruple the price!

The Calibarn may have only appeared for a few episodes, but it certainly left an impression on me. It's definitely my second favorite Gundam.

It's such a gorgeous MC gundam. I rarely like MC gundams because i'm not a fan of the tricolor scheme but the all white with red shell units just look so good. It's a shame it only got used for a grand total of 3 episodes.
@@Polka_Ch What grade? Recently got into the hobby and built the calibarn as my first kit. I'm considering building either the rg unicorn or the rg hi-nu for my 2nd one, both kits I really like.

Calibarn does not only pay homage to Gundam Unicorn alone- but also to the original 5 X- Numbers G-Weapons from Gundam SEED:

I regret not snagging this, especially after i managed to get the Aerial Rebuild from a Surugaya for like 82k yen.
The robot damashi will arive tomorow and cant wait for it. Preorderd aerial rebuild too go beside the calibarn. Love in depth on the shell units. hg chest is indeed better👍

Nowhere is Calibarn $16 lol. Even mine straight from Japan with free shipping was $23.
Even at 23$, it's still 3 times cheaper
I think the biggest take away from this, is I want them to make a 1/100 Mechanical Calibarn already lol.
I always felt that the robot spirits were meant for the people that either can't or don't want/have time to built models kits but still like gunpla.
Robot Spirits are way overpriced. They are nice figures, but $100 for a toy that size is a bit too much.
RG 2.0 RX-78-2 is 300 dollars (That’s at least what i found).

the proportions on the figure look weird compared to the HG, like the chest is too large, and I feel like the frame parts are in too light of a grey

The old school msia figures were pretty awesome for the time. I haven't bought one of the robot damashii figures, because I'm mainly into the model kits. They look ok. I like the added effects they come with

The concept design of the chest is very similar to the Date Masamune.
You can get permet score 5 on the HG by just using a red highlighter on the stickers. Or get a 3rd party sticker. P Bandai just for it is kinda silly.
True, if the p-bandai included pre-moulded shell units for every part, not just the chest it would be more worth it
