Now it has two Muslim states on opposing borders. You surrendered in 1971 because you were not essentially part of the struggle that created Pakistan in the first place. You just woke up one fine morning to find that your area was included in a newly created country called Pakistan. You don't feel the pain of losing East Pakistan. Your army since, has not made any effort to redeem or avenge East Pakistan. You later generations remained indifferent to the surrender that you invoked to the eternal shame of Islam and Pakistan.
Dhaka was surrounded by large rivers on all sides, yet Indian paratroopers entered Dhaka (from Tangier). Entire East Pakistan was divided by 136 rivers and rivulets, making large scale invasions impossible by enemy. You just needed to stay one more week or 10 days in all...before UNSC imposed cease fire would make India vacate the territory of East Pakistan.
