Howell should be a fake GM, no way a grandmaster gets this level of social skills
@@sidmate13/videos
All Australians seem to be like that. Wonder why that is.
he's not Australian he's British and isn't he supposed to be studying to be a lawyer? Heard that in his commentary.@@linsqopiring6816
Anish in X be like......
bro is a commenttator, what do you expect?
My picket fence neighbour is a GM. Except when his wife orders him to cut the hedges he seems quite normal and likeable, too.
Do you play chess?
kid: Yeah I play for England.
Me when i see a puzzle?.. Sac the Queen!
That one was an instant Levy
God save the queen
@@TearTheRoof0ff"sac the queen....can you sac the queen ???o he sac'ed the queen he sac'ed the queen oh he sac'ed the queen....
he said ....he said ....I'm going to the restaurant in Toranto"
@@user-cv6ft9oe8c That whole sequence went through my head lol.
10 yard penalty
Chess has definitely become modernized and is globally popular again on the internet
Daddy Andrew Tate did that
@@bawseeeee602Queen's gambit
The Carlson/Niemann drama is what got me into it.
Pandemic is what did it
That last puzzle is actually pretty easy. Not necessarily because its easy, but because it's so famous as a study that even amateur chess players might have seen it on instagram and tiktok.
I've never seen it and I have like a 300 rating and easily solved it. I have beaten my 1500 rated friend before though so idk. Maybe I have good intuition *shrugs*
It's got so few moves available it's not hard to calc all of them.
that last puzzle is pretty easy ... not because it's easy
you have been watching agadmator ...
@@OttoIncandenzabruh either your friend was loosing on purpose of u are not a 300 !!
Way way above 300 bro ! Good stuff
Give me some David Howell any time. I love this guy.
Please support me
David Howell acts too modest for a former 2700 player. If GothamChess had David’s rating, he would strut around the streets with his nose high up in the air crashing into every single New York building.
Lol. Very true.
That's why a figure like levi was so needed
Loooool
@@2020cine/videos
They both have their place.
This would get the pin of shame on one of Gotham's videos
2:00 love that they are playing on Lichess :)
Please support me
*she*
Haha, just wanted to say the same
@@chessonline4848 prob a he
i also play on lichess))
I have the privilege of playing the youngster, Rock now and again. He’s a phenomenal player and a nightmare to face.
Rock is his real name lol?
I was shocked to find out that’s a boy not a girl
@@simplyphotoshop8035 You're not alone lol
Every city needs a streetclub like FourCorner - big props to James!
James is brilliant and FourCorner is an excellent idea and a welcoming community.
Thanks man!
When I grow up, I want to be like David Howell. Too bad I’m 7 years older than he is 😭
David is too humble to be a GM. Guys c'mmon you have a 2700 + rated player infront of you. I just love Howell and his way of interaction.
3:27 bro said pragg love it ❤️
Here's hoping Pragg can win the candidates.
@@ineptec hope for the best 💥

David's a class act.
4:59 GUY???? oh my...
had the same reaction😭
i didnt realise until i read your comment haha
I'm a long haired guy myself and I fell for it too 💀
Wait, did he call her a guy by mistake or is it really a guy?
you all need to calm down its not that deep lol
it is very interesting to see video content with a public social vibe
David howell is such a spicy character 😂
that guy will definitely be a future grandmaster
isn't it a girl? :D
@@darrak1it's a boy for sure
@@darrak1Even hearing the voice I thought so until Howell used "he" lol.
Ya,the kid in the red shirt should cut his hair, dont want him getting bullied. Just sayin,
@@michaeloconnor6264/videos
Maybe he shouldn't have to cut his hair not to be bullied?
Founder of @fourcornerclub here (dude in the cap). Apologies for my performance. Was baffed to have David just rock up randomly. So great.
It took me 20 seconds to solve EASY puzzle. Dead serious, took me in total 3 seconds for both MEDIUM and HARD puzzles.
nice segment
When i solve a puzzle i first see hikaru's ceiling and if that doesnt work then i watch a video😂
The hard one was the only one I got immediately. That pretty much sums up my chess. Overthinking easier stuff and instantly get the harder stuff.
1:39 😂😂😂😂 "I'm pretty good"
Each of these we're past daily puzzle. Good video idea.
everyone who watchs chess content on RUclips and Twitch and is interested in the game probably has seen the 3. Puzzle with Ra6 before like the little boy. It is a well known puzzle in the chess bubble... my impression
Yup. Paul Morphy composed this puzzle😊
Dw I just thought hmmm I've seen that but I forgot what to do
Props to him for volunteering that though. I'd just let them think I was smart lol.
I only occasionally do chess puzzles, and I only really do ones from actual games rather than composed ones like the last one, so it took me a min of trial and error in my head to get it. I am 1700 OTB so I would be expected to get it I feel. Howell is a true gentleman.
yeah i thought it would be too well-known to be hard :)
I'm around 1,100 level and got the 1st one and the last one fairly quickly. The second one was a little harder, I was inclined to move the rook first for a fishing pole trap checkmate, but didn't notice the potential of the black Queen to then go to d1 and deliver a back rank checkmate on the white King. So the white Queen has to move before the white rook does.
if you do tactics you see those puzzles all the time. My TT rating is around 2200. the last one if you have never seen it can be tricky if you haven't seen it before.
Legend has it that Howell is still in the park playing chess. (he's known for having very long games)
The hardest one is quite well known but still very cool
The 1st one was really obvious to me
Where was this event? I'd love to catch-up and play with other chess lovers in London!
Weirdly enough I got the easy and hard quickly but overcomplicated the medium one and got it wrong
Same 😂
Nice. Got them all. First one probably took me the longest because I focused on the queen rook options first. I've only played a handful of games but I've done a fair bit of puzzles.
Yea the first one was harder than the second because of all the distractions.
This puzzles very easy all three.
I only got medium can't believe I missed the M1!
I love the last puzzle! If I'm not mistaken it was created by Paul Morphy himself
If you ever have to explain what is zugzwang to someone, show them this puzzle. It's also easy to remember how to set the position up 😊
Pawn promotion in a King and pawn vs king endgame is a better example when the attacking king has opposition. The simpler the example the better for beginner students.
plz tell me I'm not the only one who got the last one instantly while making a mistake with the first two 😅
5:12 yet, he would never be the new Magnus if he had not that much integrity.
This rook a6 puzzle is way too famous
The first one had mate in 1 and a mate in 3. Can you say a forced mate in 3 is a wrong answer?
If the idea is to find the quickest way to win I guess you could say it's a wrong answer
Yeah...Its wrong And its useful in board chess...sometimes you physically cant move 3 pieces so...Finding quick mate is necessary...
They were both too easy and too known but yea, i love chess content in public:)
Where in London is this please?
4:57 big oopsie
Nice to hear "Prag" in fav player list from these guys😂❤
Was anyone thinking the answer to the hardest one was something like 1.Ra5 a6 2.Rh5 then the black bishop goes somewhere 3.Rh7 then the black bishop goes somewhere on the same diagonal again. 4.Rxb7 then if the black bishop goes back to b8 to guard against the mate on a7 white plays 5. Rxb8# and if 4.... a5 5.Rxa7#
After 2. Rh5, how can rook move 3.Rxb7 ?
@@moseru131Thanks for pointing out the error. I've edited it now, so I hope it's right this time.
I took 10 sec for all 3 combined
solved all of em within a few secs, I'm not even that strong but these are 1800-2000 level at max
I didn't get the 2nd but I got the 3rd lol
I've seen the hard one way too many times
Love David 😃😍
Miss the easiest puzzle and solve hardest one💀
sunny london
the hardest puzzle here was to guess that long haired kid was a boy, I solved it just before the third puzzle.
I got the first two instantly, the hard one took me one minute. Not too bad I guess.
I was able to solve the easy and hard one but i couldn't solve the medium. 😂
I don't know I am right but if I can sacrifice THE ROOK and THE QUEEN. I will do it
very easy! I saw all of them in under 5 seconds.
Best commentator here
The last puzzle was a famous study by tal right?
That was so easy
I‘m a 600 and I‘m really bad at puzzles, but I found the two first ones 😊
That was the easiest thirty pounds I could have won.
£15, although how they say it makes that less than 100% clear. (but I was there)
that medium was easier than the easy one
I didn't solve the first one but solved the second and third 😅
Please support me
AYOOO i visited that very same park when I went to london hoping to play street chess and no one was there 🥲
I struggled on the Easy one and solved he medium and hard one in like 5 seconds each. How did people miss the medium one just sack the queen for a rook mate
It was very easy ...
4:01
The last one prob the easiest
I solved the hard one in 2 minutes, man it hits hard 🔥
feel like the third one was easier than the second one
Nah bro
weirdly enough.... that first one took me the longest. I saw the other ones in a second, because patern recognition
Same
The “easiest” was the hardest to me but I got the others done correctly and pretty fast
Bit confused why that is 😜
this guy
I don’t get why rook h3 queen h7 doesn’t work.
Lol I only got the hard one 😅😅
Why don’t u guys do this in Italy for example? I don’t see any chess related activities here😂
Did anyone else manage to solve the easy and hard but not the medium one? That's what I achieved lol.
i love chess
Please support me
That were 3 puzzles that I saw immediately (1600). These puzzles should be solves easiely with a bit thinking 😂
@ 1:27 - his wife probably says the same thing...😆
I got the last puzzle correct, but missed the first two😂
Yeah I also found the last one the easiest for some reason. I think it has something to do with the fewer options and also how fast you can rule them out one by one.
Where do I find sunny London?
it's "when" - this was in August 2023
I like the video, but “impossible puzzles”? I hate being that guy, but literally took me less than 10 seconds to solve them.
Evidently impossible for the random 1100s and 1400s in London
Too easy puzzles. I mean yes, third one is trickier but i have literally seen that problem too many times already. Guess i would have look like a genius in this video.
Weirdly the last one was easiest for me probably because not many choices then second to last was second easiest and the first one took me the longest still though found all pretty quick my brain does like computer
Ba6 immediately
I solved them all and I'm 1200 😢
This *guys* going to be a superstar.
Surprised me lol.
3/3
Nice 👍
these are easy not impossible
ez puzzles
I solved all the puzzles 😂😂, I'm I also a future grandmaster?...😅lol
I got easy, lost mind in medium n hard was agaun easy
„1100 rapid so its pretty good“ saying that to a 2600 otb GM hurts XD guy needs a reality check
I thought morphy's puzzle would be too famous to be hard :/
"I'm rated 1100 on 10 minutes so I'm pretty good" lol, no mate, you would get demolished at a chess club.
Yeah but he's had 2 beers
He was obviously being sarcastic
calm down kid, he is better than like 90% of the population if you think the amount of people that don't play and someone who has played a few games would be around 500-1000. no need to try and talk down to him because someone at a chess club would be him.
eh i solved the hard puzzle the fastest and the easy one the slowest
Every decent player has seen the Ra6 puzzle, should have given a tougher final one
