I really love the narration it's really up my alley with my obsession with flying. I always plan which side of the plane to sit on so I can see my hometown when flying home to the Philippines. I will never sit in the middle aisle. I always have to sit by the window and take in everything with gleeful delight. Thank you for putting so much thought into your videos.
Another feather in your cap, Peter Masella! Excellent narration...so engaging and so informative! You add a 'human element' to what otherwise would have been a drab travel. We can imagine pretty well that you must to carry out quite a bit of delving into things, do the homework so that we can get a fine, finished product! 😊
The last time I flew on a 767 it was a 300 (standard, not ER) back in 2004. Although I flew on a number of 200 and 300 series 67's during the 80's and 90's I am UK based and the trans - continental charter routes that used these aircraft (as well as the 757 - 200 - arguably my favourite Boeing) now rely on NG 737's, usually 800's. I think I have watched all your videos in one day Mr Masella and could fly the LENDY approach into JFK blindfold now.....
Mann Peter I have never found anyone like you, you are the best at what you do! So informational and interesting. I love flying but never knew all that much. Your videos have had me knowing exactly what’s going on when I’m flying. Thank you keep it up and I love your music choices
As a native Bronxite I'm mildly annoyed that you didn't mention the brightest light visible in all of the parts of NYC you could see - Yankee Stadium. At 20:12 it's in the upper left corner. You are always well informed about geography. I both enjoy and learn from your videos.
Thanks! As a former Air Force Navigator and someone who grew up in South Ozone Park this brings back a lot of memories. My father would take me out on Rockaway Blvd and the observation deck at Kennedy (slightly after Idlewild) to watch the planes come in. And if it's not too much rouble, what sort of camera and video settings do you use? Thank again.
@@PeterMasella Wow! Nice photography. Thanks for the answer. I would plan nav legs to go over NYC at night. I spent more time looking out the windows than dead reckoning. It was quite a sight. Thanks for making me remember.
Hi Pete, I will admit that when started to watch your videos i found the commentary but your commentary is extremely informative, eloquent & entertaining. You have a great voice for these videos. I an imagine you have a zillion frequent flyers. I was surprised just how basic the Delta One food is for a first class seat. Is there a reason for this. I am in Australia & Qantas has superb restaurant quality food & free alcohol. Is there any A380's in the United States? Have you done a A380 video. Thank you for these wonderful videos, they must take a long time to edit & produce. Greetings from your friends in Australia!
Thank you so much. The first class food is normally more elaborate but it has been minimized to reduce touch points during the pandemic. No US carriers fly the A380. I know Emirates does fly it to JFK (I was on one years ago).
I don't know why I'm so petrified to fly but one time that I did, when I was waking into the airport and I heard a jet rev up its engines, I started trembling with anxiety and fear. My brother on the other hand, he loved flying. My brother was an instructor. Go figure. Ty for your great videos Peter.🙏
Thanks, Peter, for another fine video. Really enjoy them, and look forward to your next one! Who did you get to help you film you in your seat while reclining and “sleeping?”
I flew on a Delta 767/400 from Atlanta to Lima Peru back in 2005. Economy seat I believe 13A front bulkhead just behind the second door just before the wing, tons of space for the 6.5 hr ride down to South America
Apparently...I somehow MISSED this video a while back...but found it after watching your latest JFK video. For my flight from Seattle to JFK next summer, I did choose a seat on the left...but have no idea what the actual approach will be so far in advance! One question--when were you at SLC in this video? I'm thinking about flying there next year, too, so wonder how much farther along the construction will be.... Thanks!
Generally flights from the west coast will fly on the LENDY arrival procedure to JFK. But you won’t know which runway you’ll land on until much closer to the flight itself. This was filmed in September.
Peter, How does one access the ATC archive? ( I assume that you go back and loop in the narration of the communication between ATC and the pilots of this flight?). I can’t decide whether you are / were a controller or a pilot: you are an excellent geographer for certain!!
Great, very informative video as always. Your level of knowledge is amazing! Question-are you traveling for a purpose, or do you take these flights just to make the videos? If you do, what a great job you have!
Amazing. Those seats look upgraded. Are the 767-300's upgraded too? I heard they will be replaced. They can replace those 767-300's with the A330-800neo's.
Excellent video with great narration! I'm curious, does Delta still let you listen into air traffic control on your in-flight entertainment, or do you have another way to keep up with what's going on?
Almost all flights from SLC to JFK fly the LENDY arrival unless there is a need to take a different route due to weather. This Is true for most flights from the west.
Nothing is certain, especially when booking in advance. I suggest looking for the flight plan for your flight online within 24 hours of departure so you can determine the arrival procedure you will use that day. But in general all flights will follow similar routes daily. For example, almost all flights from the west will use the LENDY6 arrival to JFK. But if weather is in the way, another route could be used.
I just recently flew into JFK from the west on a redeye but I don't think we took the LENDY approach. We flew over the Tappen Zee Bride and turned south towards JFK somewhere over LaGuardia. Then we went over the ocean and came around to land onto 4L. I sat on the left side of the plane but unfortunately the NYC skyline was on the other side. At least I had a great view of San Diego taking off.
Always enjoy your videos
I appreciate that!
i glad i found your channel so so informative i love it peter
Thanks so much!
Seemless take off!
Sure is!
As usual Peter, a first class video presentation! Thank you

Thanks so much Ben! For me it’s the window seat or no seat! Thanks for watching!
As usual Peter...a very good informative narration from SLC to JFK...it was like i was travelling with you...thanks
Welcome aboard! 😀
Very informative. Thank you.

Very nice Peter! I love looking at all the geologic features of the Great Salt Lake. So I'll sit back and relax until we get to JFK.
:-)
Hey Pete thanks for the videos
Thank you for watching!
It's a Seven SIX Seven. I did have a drink every time you said Seven Sixty Seven so now I love your video anyway.

Thanks Peter. Looking forward to this 👍

Amazing video. Travelling isn't something I'll be able to do anytime soon so I enjoy living vicariously through videos like these.
Glad I am able to bring the experience to you!
Really enjoy your informative narrations, a big plus for AvGeeks! Great job! 👍

Really enjoyable video. If only nyc didn’t have clouds. Looking forward to the next one!
Clouds are an aviation vloggers enemy! Thanks for watching!
Awesome video 📹

Thanks Again Peter!
I'm actually flying out on this same very aircraft from PDX to JFK, this upcoming Saturday. First Class/Delta One, Cannot wait!
You are going to love it!
Great video

Very well done, as always 👏🏻

Lela, flying is the safest way to travel!
Thank you for sharing your prosciutto sandwich!
Buon appetito!
Great narration! What video software allows you to type names of places and rivers on top of your videos, please?
Thanks! I use Camtasia.
Great Video Peter ! I assume that a Boeing 767 has a 2-3-2 twin aisle configuration in the economy class. It is an amazing plane no doubt.
Thanks! Yes, you can see the 2-3-2 configuration at the 17:00 mark of my video.
Thanks, Peter, for another fine video. Really enjoy them, and look forward to your next one! Who did you get to help you film you in your seat while reclining and “sleeping?”

All of the ATC is archived and available online so I listen post-flight.
@@PeterMasella Ah Ha! That makes sense. Thanks.
Hi Peter, if you don't mind me asking, how do you find out prior to travel what route into JFK the flight will be taking?
Almost all flights from SLC to JFK fly the LENDY arrival unless there is a need to take a different route due to weather. This Is true for most flights from the west.
how do you know which arrial route will be in effect at the time of arrival ahead of time? Especially when booking the flight in advance?

Just curious, do they sterilize the headphones in your seat “suite”? Can you keep them?
It looks like the headphones are new for each new passenger....I don’t think you can keep them but I’m not sure.
question; if i am flying business class on delta can i visit the skyteam lounge even though i am not a delta club member?
Delta does not have business class. The higher levels of service are Delta One and First. You can use the Delta Sky club if your ticket says Delta One.

When 4L is in use, LENDY arrivals will fly over LGA, then make a right turn to the final approach course.
