    Hey I just wanted to say thank you for these tutorial videos. My step-daughter is 9 and always wants me to do tricks. I'm nowhere near your level of speed or cleanliness when doing these but I can fool her and she loves it. So again thanks for giving me something that I can use to bond with her more. And who knows maybe she'll decide to become a magician and eventually fool me.

    Just wanted to say THANK YOU! I've been watching your videos for a year or so now and NEVER bothered to try anything. I just enjoyed watching your content! Well, now I have ordered myself 3 decks (blue monarchs, red wheel and your own Memento Mori) so I can actually start learning this stuff. I know I'm no youngster (31 next week!) to be learning these but it's never too late really is it! Once again, thanks for the amazing content!!!!

  • @maxnichols6753
    @maxnichols6753 7 лет назад

    One thing I saw that you did was put your thumb down on the deck when you slide the card into the pinky break and it makes a bigger gap and allows an easier target. What's really cool is you usually do it in a split second before; when actually performing and not teaching it. You're actually why I signed up for RUclips cause I wanted to subscribe.

    The spread control is gorgeous, and I count it a close cousin to a lovely little move Derren Brown published in Pure Effect (and demonstrates in The Devil's Picturebook) called the "velvet turnover." The two moves are quite different (his is done atop a squared deck using a lateral palm) but they are conceptually quite similar. And I say that as the highest praise I could ever possibly give to another magician.

    When pushing off the bottom card, that hand should be lower and angling the spread upwards to help hide the edges of the falling cards and where each are coming from. It's very easy to see the extra edge fly in. While most wouldn't know what just happened... they'll know that something weird did.

    Oh...
    When I heard on facebook that you will start a gaming channel I thought it's a prank and when I saw the youtube link I was sure it's a Rick Roll. Even now,when you talked about the channel I still couldn't believe it and while I was checking the description I saw the link to a recommended book and I was asking myself it it's Royal Road because I'm reading it. But when I clicked on the link and saw Rick's face...damn! Congrats! That was a good and old joke. I got Rick Rolled but it was funny.
    And thanks for the tutorial,I needed those tips for the spread.

  • @Braten891
    @Braten891 7 лет назад

    Hey guys, previously I had an idea to simplify the critical movement where you toss the card on the other, which is for me hard to do imperceptible and in case you have the same problem, here is it.
    I modified it in this way, that you just put it on the other:
    1. Everything is the same, you take the fan and get the Second card ready with your middle finger.
    2. You turn around the choosen card and already do the same movement as you would when you would put it on the Choosen
    card, just as you wanted to undo any movement from the flipping around of the choosen card.
    3. Turn it around again and lay the Second Card on the other, with the same movement mentioned in Point 2.
    You probably already realised that the Point 2 has the effect that the movement in Point 3 doesn't look suspicious when you lay down the card.
    In my opinion this is easier to realize, especially for more unexperienced Performer like me.
