Glad to see you both appear on the mend. This for me is a timely video. My brother-in-law contracted COVID last week and appeared to be on the road to recovery when his temperature dropped to 39 degrees C yesterday. Today he is in hospital on a respirator and the outlook isn’t good. Asking for everyone to pray for him.

I found out I had The rona on Halloween, the incubation period is 7-14 days. I know exactly where I got it, and so did 32 other people I know got it as well. 7days before we were all together. Stupid move, but it happened. Chin up buttercup . If we could all go back and do like over.

I wouldn’t worry about where you got it. You’ve contacted everyone and that’s all you can do and get better. ❤️ A lot of us are simply ready to go back to normal life and don’t think of it as foolish. If you leave your house at all, crowded or not, eating out or not, you’re still likely to get it, so best not to worry and just do everything you can to try to keep you and your loved ones as safe as possible. Glad you’re doing much better! ❤️

@@liahatz Sure you know by now loss of taste/smell is a major sign of Covid-19. Being female is a good sign for you as if you look at world wide stats for Covid-19 its roughly 40% female and 60% male catching the virus. We have a few theories on why women are LESS susceptible to the virus. Human's are born with two chromosomes with males have xx and females having xy chromosome. With males having two identical xx if one goes bad we do not have a backup. Say one starts dev cancer or something bad in general happens at the molecular level the female has backup dna strand with the extra x chromosome. This is not simple conjecture but one of the leading principles in why women outlive men in general. In America females used to outlive men by 7 yr average but has come down in last few yrs to about 5 yrs today. We have known for quite some time the female fights infection better than the male (not always) so we think we know the answer. Btw, anyone around the world reading this i highly recommend a Covid-19 website to you called MedCram on RUclips. The doctor doing the presentations is the leading lung specialist in the world out of California. I will warn you right now he does NOT dumb this down for the general public and is apolitical. He started back in March and we can see the progression that science makes in knowledge till today's vaccines announcements by Moderna and Pfizer. There are about 50-60 hrs on here and he labels them so you can narrow your interest down. Say, you are interested in what the top doctor in the world takes in vitamins and supplements he tells you. He goes into GREAT detail how a ventilator works and even how your blood type can HELP or HURT you with Covid-19. Short answer is if you are 0- blood type you have an average 40% LESS chance of catching and dying from Covid-19. Readers of his website have known of blood types since March 2020 and now 3 other peer reviewed sites have confirmed it.(you can still die from it folks with 0-) The worst blood type is AB+ but they are only 9% of population. He educates us on what being A- or A+,B-,B+,O-,O+ blood type means. The A+ or B+ are antigens that lock onto to the covid-19 protein and enters the cell. Note that O- blood has ZERO antigens so nothing for the virus to lock onto. When someone tells you your A+ when you get you blood tested that means you have the A antigen. Same with B+, you have the B antigen. Blood type O- has zero antigens and why 0- blood type are the UNIVERSAL giver of blood to anyone as the other persons body will NOT reject the blood. This can kill you quickly getting the wrong blood type folks. My point to this long diatribe is to teach people to learn on their own about Covid-19 and DO NOT RELY on BS politicians and friends. Do the work yourself and it will be time consuming. In closing i was a college biology major and i only understand about 75% of the good doctor but if i don't understand something look it up...especially his drugs. Good luck.

I work retail and my store’s fitting rooms are closed. People still try on clothes on the sales floor and we tell them trying on isn’t allowed any time we see it happening. Customers get very upset and annoyed with us, but the whole point of fitting rooms being closed is to stop people from trying on altogether for this very reason. I'm glad you are getting better.
I've heard similar things from nurses in the US saying that it is a mistake to take the test at face value especially if you've been in contact with someone who is a confirmed case.
So apparently a lot of jobs here have changed their quarantine requirements. A while ago, a lot of places required everyone to quarantine for 2 weeks after coming in contact with someone that has it, but this is very difficult to accommodate because lots of work cannot be accomplished from home. Now they only require negative test results. But the health care workers are reporting that many people who come in contact or have a few symptoms, tested negative initially, returned to work, symptoms worsened, and then they tested positive.... after exposing their entire work place to the virus. So...hopefully we'll come up with better processes as we get more data. Idk

Hi Lia: I really hope you are getting better. I have a little advice on when you are out in public. I NEVER use the public hand sanitizer pumps - if it is not electric where it squirts it out in your hand I don't touch it. Also, I always carry my own with me so each time I leave the store I clean my hands. Additionally, I notice you touching your mask and your hair while out. I know it's difficult but I always make a very deliberate effort to not touch my hair or anything near my face when I am out until I can actually wash my hands with soap and water. I am someone who is constantly touching my face and hair so I had to train myself. To be safe it's better to just wear your hair back so no need to go anywhere near your face. Like the last commenter said - you could have gotten it from anywhere, but additionally, when out it's best to change your clothes when you get back home to inside clothes only. Again, you seem to be on the mend so just keep resting.

You know those thin white cotton gloves people wear at night after putting lotion on their hands in the winter? I wear these when out at the grocery store. So much better than vinyl gloves. I take them off once back in the car and use an anti bacterial wipe on my hands for good measure, Then I wash the cotton gloves and reuse them.

My wife was feeling symptoms late in October and got a positive test on October 31. Our household was ordered to quarantine for 14 days of from her symptoms beginning, so essentially November 7th we would be "free" to return to our regular schedule. Everyone else in the house tested negative. I felt the slightest sinus pressure on the last day (November 7th) so we got a precautionary test done again. I tested positive this time, so now I'm quarantined until the 21st and the other two in my house must quarantine for 14 days beyond that. Well, my oldest kid is now running a fever and just got tested again so we're waiting on the results. We are so "done" with this pandemic...I hope you guys continue to heal and wish all the viewers here a safe upcoming holiday season!

About clothing. I read materials arnt a source of transmission because of the non-surface aspect. The fomite surfaces are where bacteria and their spores can grow and be picked up. Fomite surfaces are table tops, counters, doorknobs, toilet flusher thingies...all smooth surfaces of that nature and of course direct contact with an infected persons respiratory droplets. I hope that helps in some way. Take care, stay strong, eat healthy and lots of liquids.

Aloha from Hawaii, Lia. I am a scientific researcher who has experience with qPCR analysis, which is the predominant technique used to evaluate whether or not viral genetic information is present in a sample. Sometimes if the patient is infected and tested very early on in the viral development, the signal for presence will either result in an ambiguous report, or a false negative. This could also be due to a number of other factors, including but not limited to your sample simply not having extracted enough of your mucous (or saliva) to result in a definitive and robust Covid-19 report. I hope that you recover quickly and am sending my well wishes to you and Joel!

Our daughter's best friend Teresa is pregnant. Teresa found out that both her parents, both her brothers, her sister-in-law who is also pregnant, and their toddler ALL tested positive for Covid-19. Everyone is terrified now, and Teresa and her husband have vowed not to see any of them until they're in the clear AND have had vaccines. This virus is extremely dangerous in that it not only attacks your lungs and heart, but it also can leave long term damage, sometimes a person can never get over that damage, and then the suffering is long, slow and painful for the rest of their lives.

It truly is hard to say where you got it! I know for me, I wondered where I got it too. Finally, the health department told me that they are sure they were able to pinpoint my exposure, which helped me mentally, just to know. I hadn't went in public for 5 weeks, with the exception of a restaurant. That restaurant shut down for "security reasons", and later, we found out everyone there tested positive, one of my favorite waiters there died :-( Which is why they were closed. They closed down around the same time that I got sick. It was a long 6 week, still having breathing issues. I never lost my taste, but my taste buds changed. Like everything tasted horrible, and everything smelled like an ash tray almost, or sulphur. Really funky! Luckily, my taste has returned, but, I still have moments where my smell is funky again! Sorry you got it, but, the bright side, at least you got it, and it turned out good!

Hope you both continue to improve. Looks good for a full recovery. Immersion blenders (the Masha) are fun.

Where did you get the white t-shirt that you're wearing in this video? Thanks for sharing! Washington state's governor just announced a soft lockdown starting yesterday, because our Covid numbers are higher than in March. So glad to hear you two are "on the mend".

I had Covid in March and my smell and taste comes and goes to this day. You should close your eyes and eat to really see if you can taste. When you see the food your brain tricks you into thinking you have your taste back.

About 25 yrs ago I once had a weird cold and my sense of taste was all messed up (basically as you described). Definitely on the right track with the hand blender!

Sorry to hear this, glad you are on the mends. Where I live it is rampant and just a matter of time before someone in my family gets it. We are doing everything we can to protect ourselves but a majority of the people where I live are ignoring every guideline , still believe it is a hoax, so disgusted with utter stupidity.

I know there's a lot said about hand washing and you can get it from surfaces but most likely you got it through the air. If you were in a shop and if and infected person was in there, even if you both wore a mask, it could get to you. If you had an N95 mask, it would reduce the chances but even that is not 100%. It can even be spread through your eyes I've heard. Get better! Praying for both of you.
