Hi all, just wanted to share that CAAS in Singapore will be revising all drone related requests from 15 Jan 2024. To register a drone will now be $25 instead of $20.
Thanks for sharing 🎉. I got HoverAir X1 a self flying camera and weighs 125g. Not sure if all these rules apply. They say it’s not a drone but just like a flying selfie stick 😂, but it can still fly upto max height 15meters.
Wow I never heard of that, it’s under the weight limit for registration so you’re good there. Maybe don’t fly it in crowded areas or around buildings 👍🏼
@@didietaditya1897 yes you can but need to obey all laws, and check the fly app on the day you plan to fly, there could be events that will cause the area to be a no fly zone. For example, now Singapore is doing their National Day rehearsal so the area is a no fly zone on some days.
Thanks a lot. Sorry for the confusion on that, I had to get the license because I got the extended battery for the mini 3, which puts it over 250g. If you have the standard battery then you don't need to get the license.
Great video ! very informative. However i have a question, do the civil aviation mail the sticker to foreign visitors address who are planning to register and visit Singapore with their drone ?
That is a good question, likely not to overseas address. Is your drone over the weight limit? Perhaps it could be mailed to a temporary address in Singapore? Hotel, etc
Hey there. Just today I called CAAS Singapore regarding drone footage and posting it in RUclips. They said once I uploaded to RUclips, it’s considered as Commercialized and Non Recreational. Meaning I need license to do so. Even when I fly
Thanks for the info. I just have a toy Drone DJI Tello with max 10-15 metres height. So should be fine I believe. And at Marina bay, is it allowed to fly my drone? How about the beaches in Sentosa or Gardens by the bay?
Marina Bay is allowed but you need to avoid flying over people, cars, buildings. Over the water is ok. Sentosa is private property so some places are not allowed. Gardens by the bay is not allowed unfortunately. The DJI Fly app will show all the no fly zones.
Very nice and informative video 👏👊 thanks for sharing
Awesome aerial shots during the golden hour. Thanks.
Thanks alot
Thanks! This is very informative. Flying to SG next week
You're welcome, glad it was helpful. Enjoy your trip to SG!

Nice and informative. But i saw the no fly zones covers almost all of marina bay, isnt it?
marina bay is ok. Just obey the height limit and stay over the water and you’re ok
Wow, we can use drone at marina bay?

Hey bro, thanks for sharing. Nice and clear video. Just to make sure, why you needed to get the license once DJI mini 3 is under 250g?

It's better standard battery only for dji mini 3 so no need to register? Right?
@@felomoto correct, standard battery for mini 3 no need to register as it’s under 250g

Have you carried drone in plane?

Hey there, for most of the clips I obtained an Activity permit through CAAS

Thanks for your prompt response. Appreciate it.
Just want to check, some countries mandate that so long there’s a camera regardless of size the drone needs to registered?
Singapore does not have this mandate. It is only weight
@@certified_gmo thanks for clarifying
Good to know 👏👏👏
the no fly zone wow!
A lot of NFZ 🤷🏻♂️
How Dji AIR 2s ??
Air 2S would need registered
What if you coming only for 2-3 days?
I mean that registration, how do you get it as you need an address in Singapore to apply
Is your drone over the weight limit of 250g?
Can I fly drone on cruise ship in Singapore ports, sea?
I think you are not allowed to fly on cruise ship, but you should confirm with the cruise operator. When I went on the cruise it wasn’t allowed
But flying over the sea in Singapore is ok as long as it is an alllowed fly zone
