This show brings back memories of coming home from school around half 4ish back in the day. I'd be able to smell the cooking and I would be watching this and the weakest link. When life was stress free.
I used to love to watch this every day n I still love watching memorable videos like these fantastic n I miss seeing mr Noel Edmond’s on tv he’s a legend.
One of the best episodes ever to be aired on the show. Amy demolished the banker like no contestant ever did before. Many, many, many congratulations to the girl. She deserves every inch of the credit.
3 of the 5 amounts left on the board were much less than the offer + if you dealt at £75k but you had the £100k you wouldn't be that gutted. She'd only be kicking herself if she had the 250k, which she didn't, right decision.
I remember watching this game when I came in from school - I think the offer at 5-box I guessed was £62,000 as the offer at 8-box was half of that - £31,000. I couldn't believe how excellent this game was!
She deserved it, wasn’t greedy at all, she still had 100k and 250k and still went for deal. It would’ve shown what would happen if she didn’t deal the offer. This is what gambling is all about, if you don’t stop somewhere, it will stop you by force and regretful
It worked out brilliantly after DOND's little psychological trick backfired, for once. Very clever over the years encouraging the player to bring sentimental photoraphs. EVERY time, without exception, the player looks wistfully or feels the card there is NO WAY they are going to ignore their lovedones on there so take the money, especially as by that stage they are quite emotional anyway...
@@jackcutler9096 haha I guess he must keep fit and eat healthily stuff like that. Saw an 84 year old on the news the other day who was running marathons and then you get people who are knackered with aches and pains big bags under their eyes by their 30s. Apparently we are all inflamed from processed crap food. Everyone is different though I guess.
I love the way Amy got upset when she was offered the 75k and also when she ran to John when he showed he had the 250k... she moved so fast the camera lost her!!!
75k was such a good amount too, You're either playing for the 100k or 250k only at that point, Because if you knocked out either of them the offers next won't be as high as 75k, Maybe 40-50. Wp to her its nice to see someone not being greedy and getting rewarded for it.
Very smart deal. The board looked attractive but there was still moderate danger of winning less than £75000. Morris the clown could have learned a lot from this exact game
This was truly an iconic game. The board was just ridiculous and to then have the maximum damage round post-Deal was beautiful. Noel did seem to be leading her into No Dealing at both of these offers - the mention of her fitting the QM profile was ewww, especially as her offer at that point was more than those two winners risked *between them* on their respective finishes! - but thankfully she took the 8-box risk and not the 5-box one, creating perfection!
I love how in the UK, they celebrate like they won the lottery when they win a minimum of £15,000, yet in the US, some of the ‘biggest fails’ are when they win $150k instead of $500
What you might not know is that in all UK game shows, all prize money won is not taxed at all. You keep whatever you won, nothing has to be declared in income tax returns. Unlike in the US, where you are subjected to tax on winnings. So £75,000 win here in the UK means a £75,000 win.
I can't remember what offer I predicted at 5-box - I think it was either around £50,000 / £55,000 or £62,000. If 62, it would've been because of the offer of £31,000 at 8-box. That's probably the 3rd or 4th perfect game ever - not just because of the right "DEAL" but Amy's enthusiasm towards the game!
Mitchell Hurd I can see why you would say that but whoever the crew in the background are that play as the “bad guys” in this game have to try and figure a way to get the person off the chair as soon as possible The banker is there to play mind games with the player to get them to deal too early and make as little money as possible. As he said though this was a really difficult call for their team 50k wouldn’t be enough. With 15k as a minimum, the loss wouldn’t be too great and she could take 15 in the first box and that would by default up the offer. 60k would put her in a bind for sure, but the problem there is the way this person was playing would scare the banker as she was with bravery and he couldn’t be cheap to scare her off That’s why the offer was 75k. Third highest amount possible in the game is seriously tempting plus with her style of playing a bigger then usual offer was needed to get her the chair so they could attempt to cut their losses since selling a 250k box for 75k would be a win, but they would still have to pay out a crazy sum of cash, so this was all damage control That and the 1p went out. The 1p is a great one to get out early because the longer it’s there, the more the banker will be inclined to give less as the risk on the player winning 1p is quite high
Well the average in the sums of money left was 84k. The banker usually undercuts this by a small margin to account for the fact that if the 250k goes, the EV crashes.

Loved Amy, she was great!

It is a specially created background music for the show
Very very good deal that. To have that level of a head when you're guaranteed £15k is something many people wouldn't have been able to do.

Why is this great show no longer on? Brilliant stuff x
They actually brought it back recently with a new host on itv
When exactly in 2009 did this game programme happen in?
This is how I start reacting when I bet on the football and start getting decent cash out offers.
‘Decent’ and ‘cash out offers’ aren’t generally heard together !! Betting companies are far less generous tgan the DOND banker
When life in the UK was a better place to be.
