Alan looks very nice here and the song is slightly different to other versions as it was re-recorded and is a version I had not heard before.

This wasn't re-reckrded but just edited using the original Paul Da Vinci lead vocal and John Richardson's "take my advice." Alan William's actual voice cannot be heard here.

It's a shambles really that William's should take the credit for the vocal, he wasn't a patch on Paul da Vinci
david cole ....get over it! It was 40 something years ago. Da vinci was offered job of frontman for the rubettes after the recording of sugar baby love . he turned it down...enter Alan Williams. The Rubettes went on to have a successful career and are still performing today ......in fact I’m going to see them next month! how many people have heard of da Vinci!? Not many I’m sure.

It's true. Paul Da Vinci sang everything. It's disgusting that this guy Alan Williams who is miming, bought a French mansion in Normandy and a plane from the money that should have rightfully gone to Paul. So wrong. The thing is, he chooses to continue to mime to Paul all this time later. He gets the choice to mime to his own version. It angers me so much. He wouldn't have had a career if it weren't for Paul and in a documentary I once saw, he was lying about Mr Da Vinci. He lies in interviews as well. Disgusting.
TheGreatPretend .... he didn’t buy his plane or chateau in France with the proceeds of one song.....the rubettes carried on making fantastic music after SBL and Alan sang on every one of them. Remember da Vinci turned down the chance to front the band.... bet he’s been kicking himself for the last 45 years about that one although it’s Alan’s good looks and charisma and yes....his voice that brought him fame and fortune and adoring fans. Doubt mr da Vinci.... for all his amazing vocals on SBL ....could have emulated that. Get your facts right....he sings to SBL when they are live....I saw him 3 months ago....when we’re you last at one of his concerts. It was 45 years ago that he mimed to SBL ....get over it!

Alan wouldn't have had a career if it weren't for Paul da Vinci, and had he not had a career, he wouldn't have made all that money. It's pretty much fraud. Now yes, I know he had no choice, he was just filling in someone's spot, but it's the fact that he just loves himself and lies. He lies all the time. He hasn't the guts to say that it wasn't him singing. You can write a long comment trying to put me in my place, but that won't happen I'm afraid. I don't care to see him live because he is not the real voice and to be honest, I don't really like him as a person. Mainly due to the fact that he lies. It is known that people who have actually met him have said that he is not a nice person at all. I have seen Paul da Vinci live and met him though. He is a nice, humble and honest person. Something that Alan Williams apparently isn't. Thanks
