Niagara Falls has so much potential to become an amazing city, it would be nice to see more attention brought to WNY with rebuilding and investing into the cities and communities here. My parents grew up in Niagara Falls back in the 70s and it sounded like it was the place to be at the time. There's a lot of abandoned storefronts all up and down Pine Ave which is sad to see but you can just tell it used to be a bustling spot before. There's a massive difference between the Canadian and American side which has always bothered me. Like you said though, the falls can be pocketed but there are a lot of great spots everywhere in the city. Great video as always btw!
I grew up on College Avenue, but left in 1966, as my father got transferred to NYC. It was very good then. I took my son to see my roots last fall. This area was still looking good, but not many other sections.
Take it from a current resident who's lived in DeVeaux: half the area you circled as DeVeaux, specifically the right half, was the projects. All rentals, high crime. I was mugged there. Highland Avenue is _bad._ The _left_ half of what you circled _is_ DeVeaux, the most beautiful neighborhood in the city. I _loved_ living there, where I felt safe walking even at night, and that neighborhood also has the most beautiful elementary school I've ever seen, Maple Avenue School. Gorgeous churches on College Avenue, including a former synagogue. Walking distance to Niagara University and two state parks too.
I liked LaSalle. I think generally east of hyde park is ok, better closer towards Buffalo Ave. North of Pine, west of Hyde Park, I wasn't too crazy about.
I live in NYC and I was looking to move further up north, affordable house , townhome and quite nice area ..I watch your videos. Thank you so much for your honesty about certain sections of Niagara Falls in different sections and towns of upstate buffalo and different towns upstate New York area ,you have shown us. I’ll continue to look before I make a decision, your videos are really informative Thank you.
appreciate the breakdown. a cool video idea would be to profile the houses under 100k in the area of Niagara. There seems to be a lot of good inventory.
The main thing going for this area is the cost of living being so low. I live in the area around Military rd. and it's pretty decent. Walking distance to pretty much every big shopping and restaurant you need. Also, a nice little hidden gem for buying homes is the area near the Hyde Park Gulf coarse. Lots of nice little quiet streets in that area with some really nice homes of all sizes. Very affordable, too.
New subscriber. I wanted to move to Detroit, my wife feels more comfortable halving the distance and plus having her relatives in Buffalo Metro she asks that we look at this area. Your videos compete with any and all Detroit realtor videos, and to me you stand alone. We will be reaching out to you via email.
Looking forward to the follow-up in the NF series. I love Whirlpool State Park and the gorge paths now that the Robert Moses throughway is gone. I read there were 1 Million Canadian/U.S. dual citizens in Canada, and many of them live in Southern Ontario. Given the affordability issues in Ontario, Canadian's should consider WNY.
I was just in NF last week checking it out for moving back there. Over the 26 years I have been gone it has really gone to hell. I am concerned about the process that has caused such an inexplicable failure of the City. None of the surrounding areas (Buffalo, the Tonawandas, Lewiston, Youngstown Cheektowaga,... Niagara Falls, Canada) have failed so badly even though they faled all the same obstacles but had almost none of the resources that NF has. NF should be far better than any of the other communities. Whoever you guys are voting for...you need to stop because those losers are destroying the City. And yes, I know all about the failed Urban Renewal project of the 1970's, but that was more than 50 years ago.
My hometown ❤️ love the people...but its ghetto and nothing to do...everytime i come home to visit it just look more depressing....everything outside the town/city is nice but its boring
Ive lived here all my life 36 years, do not move herr, zero opportunities for kids and nothing but crime unfortunately. Hardly anyone own homes, its s landlord city sadly
The houses are really cheap in the love canal area. Strongly recommend
😂

did you use to go to St.Augustine???
How fair away is the love canal
Love Canal is in Niagara Falls in the area refered to as LaSalle neighborhood. It is between 93rd & 100th streets, next to the Niagara River.
