I was thinking that some of these guys look like they were painted on the warning track. I think the guy that was on his face actually was. I doubt (NO, I'm positive) that I would have a heart attack before even finishing my head start.

But then that gives you less time to get up to speed it decreases effective distance at top speed but with the freezes acceleration it technically gives more time to catch up because while you are accelerating he is catching up. Sure you are remaining at top speed at the end but when he starts goung you want to be at top speed to maximize the lead and if you are going 15 as he stops until he hits 15 you are gaining distance only once he eclipses 15 does he start to catch up. Maximize starting distance and maintain a decent speed at the end if possible. It’s all about acceleration vs top speed
@J Ygb but while you are accelerating to top speed which is slower than his top speed and he has faster acceleration you actually give him more time to catch up. It’s most important to stay above the freezes speed as long as possible and capitalize on his start as long as possible.
The hundred meter world record is 9:58. This dudes best time is 10:47. He's almost a full second behind the world record and he still destroys most of these fans. Just goes to show how insanely fast these professional athletes are. Crazy
I mean you do have to consider he’s a full second behind a WORLD record set by someone who probably dedicated years of their lives to setting it like cmon man give him and the fans a break lmao
Yes. The 40-yard dash times are very familiar to sports fans these days because of the NFL and college football. So people have a really good idea about the fastest receivers and backs breaking 4.4 seconds, and the huge linemen running low 5s. And if you ask these fans what they would run, a good chunk would say high 4s, and nearly all of the rest would say they can do under 6 seconds. But it's just not true. It's amazing just how good the best are, and then how our human brains think we can't be that much worst than the worst of the professional athletes, but we are SO MUCH WORSE lol
The first part is the theme from Chariots of Fire. A brilliant movie about the 1924 British Olympic track team. The movie won a bunch of Oscars including the Best Picture.
Yeah it looks like the default head start is to that first corner, but he lets slow guys go several strides past that. You might be able to play possum and fool him into giving you a few extra feet there.
@@pthesmith Yeah, it would be downright laughable! I remember during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, (my home), some of the track athletes would do light workouts at Clark Atlanta University. I remember thinking, in a pretty decent half sprint, about 60-70 % these dudes would smoke me and I was running a 4.37 40 yard dash at the time...
@@tima.478 It kind of makes me jealous to see how efficiently they are able to use their muscles. The difference is made clear when people run against The Freeze. A lot of wasted energy in their movement.
Strategy: Is the head start based on time (# of seconds) or distance (when the fan gets to a certain point). If the head start is a certain distance, the runner shouldn't expend energy getting to that point. The runners that lose are tiring out at the end of the run. They could establish their lead without exerting any energy. Just jog to the point where the lead is established. Some runners sprint out of the start, and are tired before the Freeze ever starts.
Pretty sure the freeze starts after a certain amount of time… not when the competitor reaches a certain distance. Because that would be an obvious oversight of whoever made this little event.
Give The Freeze a lot of credit.... he seems to always take the outside lane as well, no cutting corners, no inside lane. This doofus was the best lol 3:52

the freeze would destroy him without a head start. track speed is completely dif then football or baseball speed alot of things come into affect like how to manage your speed over that length. metcalf is not going to beat a 400 meter sprinter in a race
This is the human equivalent of those nature videos where a cheetah is tracking in on an animal that got a warning just a bit too late. I'm so old and slow The Freeze could give me a lead to the 375 sign in right field and still beat me.
To beat the freeze the best strategy would be to start slow so that he can't properly gauge when he needs to leave, then before you get to the 385 mark turn on the jets.
