I remember when I first saw this, and thinking what the heck is this? its so obscure!! this was the first time I actually knew pikmin were around, and I thought It was amazing. This became my game of the year 2013
Gosh, I remember watching this over and over and over again when this video came out. I was SO excited for this game. Pikmin 3 was the primary reason I ever even wanted a Wii U.
Oh god. I remember loving Pikmin 2 when I was 8, getting excited for Pikmin 3 when I was 17, and now I'm 24 playing Pikmin 3 Deluxe. Time really does fly.
I grew up with pikmin 1 and 2 as a child and i still love the franchise! Thank you nintendo for remembering this old series from 2001 and 2004 and finally making a 3rd installment of one of my favorite franchises
I love how this trailer makes the Pikmin look like a peaceful species that spends its days doing nothing until you come along and make them attack everything
when i first got this game i got stuck gave up and hated it fast forward a couple years and after using the internet to cheat i finally got into the other 98% of the story and it is now my favorite game of all time
I remember crying a lot for this trailer, Pikmin was the first Nintendo IP I ever played I have great affection for this saga I play Pikmin 1 and 2. When I saw this trailer I cried with emotion because Pikmin is back

I liked the older version of the rock pikmin much better. Now they all have the same model and that makes them look a little less rock-ish... In the beta they had 4 different models and that's much better in my opinion...
I decided to revisit this trailer today because I was reminded of it and the sudden rush of nostalgia seems to be causing me to tear up. I remember not knowing about the pikmin series and stumbling upon this trailer on the nintendo channel. The look of the game, being a world where you're a tiny person with a bunch of tiny plant people, it just made me feel so happy. I could go on explaining all my thoughts and feelings, but I don't think I should waste my time pouring my heart out in a comment section.
I agree. I had to use a guide for some of the puzzles in Skyward Sword. I can't imagine a little kid knowing what to do on some of those puzzles. And anyone who says the Wii U sucks obviously hasn't played the right games. New Super Mario Bros U, Zombie U, and even Nintendo land are all awesome.
I sometimes come here (or to the other trailer) and just watch it again. Pikmin is BY FAR my favourite franchise of Nintendo (the second is Zelda ofc :D). Nintendo. I would donate both my kidneys for more Pikmin titles! I just love these games!

I'm sure you've read Kage1713's comment by now, so allow me to add to it: As he pointed out, it's an RTS. It's not war-oriented like most RTS's are. You actually use your head in the Pikmin games. Efficiency is key. You've got (as far as I currently know) 5 types of pikmin (the little creatures you command) and they each have their own unique abilities and traits that you learn about and use to their full potential. Each enemy also usually has a special method to defeat. Wonderful series. :) §
Cannot wait for this to come out. Loved Pikmin 2 so much, so hopefully this one will be as good, if not better than the second one. I'm glad I got a Wii U. The lineup for this year looks great. Pikmin 3, Zelda Wind Waker Remake, 3D Mario, Game and Wario.

Rock Pikmin are resistant towards being crushed by rocks, enemies, etc. Being crushed can be seen as a hazard (such as fire, electricity, water, etc.), and ergo its resistance.
Coming back after the Pikmin 4 trailer, the Pikmin 3 reveal trailer blows it out of the water. Showing off the brand new art style, new characters, new gameplay mechanics, new maps and locations, new & returning enemies and a boss, a new Pikmin type, and even a subtle hint for Winged Pikmin at the very end of the trailer. Compare that to the Pikmin 4 trailer, where we see a slightly new area with a slightly different art style, 3 very basic returning enemies, and that’s it. We had more of the game revealed in a single screenshot than any of the 15 seconds of the trailer, and even then it’s just the return of the closer camera angle, the return of the basic three Pikmin types, and a new character that looks too similar to Brittany. I get that hiding content can generate hype, but it’s so barebones that only diehard Pikmin fans would care so much.

Remember how the challenge and battle modes in Pikmin 2 each had a bunch of exclusive maps? For this, Nintendo should regularly update the game with new maps, like how Valve does with Team Fortress 2
I never played the 1st or 2nd yet I cant wait for Pikmin 3. Pikmin Adventures in Nintendo Land got me into the series lol. I have had Pikmin 3 pre-ordered and payed off since last September...such a long wait lol.

I know about Pikmin lol. You don't lose a lot of Pikmin if you know how to manage them and strategically attack enemies actually, and most of their nutrients come from pellets and nectar to turn them into Flower Pikmin :P

you know, I love the gamecube as well, it is my favorite system, but the wii was not a fail. They have a classic controller, and you can use gamecube controllers. Wii U also has a controller that you use instead of the gamepad.

Low storage space and bad battery life for the Game Pad are problems; but the main problem is that ALL of the WiiU games are coming out later than expected. The WiiU is doing great by its first year selling standards, though.

Technically it's Spring-Summer for Europe, so the latest we could get it is August 30th (games come out on a Friday here). But it's near enough Q3.

When I went to GameStop to check on my pre-order they said it was pushed back to August. But I know it will be worth the wait.

Low storage space and bad battery life for the Game Pad are problems; but the main problem is that ALL of the WiiU games are coming out later than expected. The WiiU is doing great by its first year selling standards, though.
Yup! Just watched it. That's great news and earlier then I expected! We also got a release date for Wonderful 101 finally! This year is gonna be great!
