Loved the video. Our table is bar height with 6 chairs. Only keep 4 at the table and my goal for the new year is to get a smaller round table with 4 chairs in a lighter color. We are both in our early 70s and have the inside of our home down to only things we actually use. Garage is next, it’s not bad, but my husband has tools and things he will never use again. It’s very liberating to know our kids will not have to deal with “stuff” at the time of our passing❤
Thank you for watching! What you described is exactly where I want to be. My husband and I were responsible for cleaning out our parents' homes, so we understand how difficult that task is. We also do not want our children to have to deal with going through all of our belongings. While we are not sure if they will grieve as much as we think, not having to deal with getting rid of unnecessary items will be a burden they won't have to bear. Do you have a "Just In Case of Emergency" document? Watch this video, it explains what it is all about: ruclips.net/video/O0LWiexaoD4/видео.html
@ Thanks! I have everything organized in our files, but this would be instant access. Seems we’re on the same wavelength. I will be watching your videos to follow your journey.❤️
Oh my! I love that you are Oma, too! Wow, 15 grandchildren! I am sure your heart is full. Thank God for technology nowadays. It is so much easier to stay in touch when the kiddos and grands live far away.
This was great timing for me to watch. I just bought a replacement Kitchenaid mixer and I’ve been wondering if I should have bought a larger size. We have six kids, two of them already out of the house and one grandchild. I host the majority of family gatherings and relate to what you said. Yes, I love it, but it is important to realize that they will have their own lives and homes one day. We have a big family but do I really need the giant mixer sitting on the counter for the next 20 years or will I be content with the regular sized one? Am I really going to be regularly quadrupling bread or pizza recipes? You helped me put things in perspective. Thank you
I have a lot of furniture but it all has an every day use. I dont have space for once in a while use things LOL So though I have lots of large pieces they are all used in ways that make them useful every single day. I have china hutches for pantries and beautiful dressers for kitchen drawers things like that. Same for my hobbies. All my hobby supplies are in beautiful hutches. No more particle board anything ever in my house again LOL I get a lot of it off Facebook Market place so if you ever go to sell your table maybe that would be an option for you. Thanks for sharing! Felicia
@@MyLittleRealities I feel like I have too much furniture, but I love all of it. I think I might just put some in our basement storage to make space. But as far as the dining room table, we paid a lot for it and I know we won’t get near what we paid for it. We also have some matching pieces like the server. But if we do move to a smaller house, it all will need to go!
@@omasmusings Your table is beautiful!! Thats a great idea! Move it to storage and if down the road you never pull it out of storage you might be more ready to say "ok gotta go" but at least in the mean time it is out of your way and freeing up space where you spend more time. Have fun!!
@@michellelaclair Hello! Thank you for watching. None of my kiddos want or need it. We will most likely keep it unless we move to a smaller house or I get motivated to sell the set. Thank you for the suggestion!

You're welcome! Thank you for watching and following me! I appreciate it. We all need each other to navigate through these years!
I’m an Oma to 15 grandchildren! Ages 24-9 yrs. They all live in different states. I so wish they could drive to visit me. I enjoy your musings!

There are so many situations that your adult children need to move back home. UGH😭
Nowaday, yes. It is unfortunate. Thank you for watching!
