In 1999, William "Tony" Hooper, son of Tobe Hooper, began work on a spinoff of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre about the character Choptop, played once again by Bill Mosely. Although it has been over 20 years, however, the movie has yet to be released despite being mostly finished.

His camera angle reminds me of a security camera, so all I can imagine while watching the videos is this random dude broke into someone's house and is giving an analysis of a movie to the first camera he sees completely unprompted

That's so sweet.

Give it a decade, and Sony will have five seasons of Chop-Top: The Series.
I'd be all for that if it was done right. They could show his experiences in Vietnam perhaps his squad was lost in the jungles and resorted to cannibalism or something like Ermeys character in the reboot series.

I met Bill Moseley when i was 11 or 12 and gave him a hug and took pictures, he was such a sweetheart ;D he is so cool
dude, if bill ever starts that crowdfund i'm gonna end up putting a lot into it because i have been waiting for a choptop movie since i was a literal child. chop top is one of my favorite horror characters of all time and i was like ten when i found out about all american massacre. it's production's been an obsession of mine for over a decade now because it's like the king of all development hell movies (with the queen being darkchylde). god i hope someone finds a way to get this movie made. character rights are such a friggin disaster to deal with but it would be tragic if we never got to see it. it's been so long and everyone working on it clearly loved what they were doing. bill moseley deserves to be chop top again, he talks about the character often and i've seen interviews where he visibly looks excited at the prospect of being him again. some actors have that one character who's like their "baby" and i feel like chop top is his and those kinds of comebacks are always a blast to see.
I don't know if your Darkchylde pun was intentional, but it got you a like from me
@ what? No he's not. A quick Google search shows that he's still alive.
@ just checked, the last news article released with him in the name was January 2020 and is talks about how he wants to make a choptop movie. There's nothing about him being dead. Both IMDB and Wikipedia says he's alive.
@ I think I just saw the part that confused you. Whang said that the man who played the Old Man in TCM 1 and 2, a character who was later portrayed by Bill Mosely, had died, not that Bill had died.
@ Whang said "Jim Siedow" is dead, timestamp 9:20
I once had a dream where I found an old VHS copy of a movie called Texas Chainsaw Boogie Nights. Starring Poppy. I dunno seemed an appropriate venue to bring that up unsolicited
Thank you for this information, it is 10000% appropriate and important (not sarcasm, lmao)
I would love to see this movie.
I found a poster for a porn parody of TCM called *The Texas Dildo Masquerade* at a Cali adult store, it had a wheelchair bound Ron Jeremy. Asked to buy it and the guy wanted $400 for it, and as much as I wanted it, I couldn't justify the price. Highly regret it now.

Bill Moseley is seriously the nicest celebrity I’ve ever met. He screamed “YOU’RE KILLING ME WITH BACON AMERICA” in my face when I showed him the copy of “Devils in my Details” I brought. He also signed it for free and told me he had the same shirt as me.
Wholesome?
That's such an awesome story. I met Bill one time years ago, I loved Chop Top and his musical project "Cornbugs" with Buckethead, I would consider myself a fan......And yet literally only today did I realise he played Otis. When you talked about flash websites from the 2000s I remembered a Halloween flash website some guy created. It was one of the coolest sites as the guy had a webpage for every single Halloween movie with scenes from each respective movie drawn out in flash animation. His animation was pretty damn great too. The website was pretty big as it was constantly breaking news about upcoming movies and rumors, and even had a very active forum too. While i know im about a million years too late and nobody will ever see this, but Texas Chainsaw part 1 is actually a very very dark comedy. If you watch it with that in mind you can see the comedy.

I always thought that "chop top" was leatherface's brother from the original. The metal plate in his head was from where he got hit by the semi-truck at the end of the first movie.
I thought he was the Hitch Hiker put back together, too. In all the sequels it never really makes any sense where all the 'new' family members came from.
@@TheAcuphase choptop is in Vietnam in the first Tcm and the corpse they wear and dance around with in 2 is the hitchhiker nubbins
Yeah, same here until I realized that the corpse chop top was carrying around in a part of the movie was actually nubbins (leatherface’s brother in the og) since chop top mentions that the corpse is nubbins
That was actually their original intention till they decided to keep Chop Top solely as Bill Mosely's character.
hitchhiker is the body that leather face was behind in the beginning of tc2. the part where he killed those 2 kids.
Whang mentioning Buckethead makes me so happy :D

Dude, a movie with Buckethead playing Leatherface?! This just has to happen.
This is freaking awesome to me. 1) I'm a huge TCM fan. 2) about 15 years ago Buckethead used my bass cabinet for his bass solo segment at a show he did in the town I was living. Knowing that Buckethead is in a crazy way connected to Bill Moseley and TCM makes me feel like I'm connected too...in a completely dilusional way.

I lost my work of art website that was in Flash in the early 2000s. Me and a friend made it, it was amazing and in CG animated. Wish I still had the flash files. It was Tim Burton-ish and had a Mike Patton soundtrack on each page.

Bruh i think someone in the coments up is looking for it.
You could put a midi Mike Patton soundtrack on a blank page and have me mesmerized. (Sorry you lost it, that sucks hard)
I thought Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 was a great film. When I first saw House of 1000 Corpses it reminded me right away of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.
I fucking adore TCM2, it's not quite as good as the original film but it's damn close I think, 2 of my favourite films ever made.

I absolutely love Texas Chainsaw 2 yet somehow this whole story missed me until now. What a shame it's remained lost and unfinished, it would be a great time capsule and way to carry on the old legacy. Hopefully this gives more attention and something will come up. Hell, I hope more people go check out the film now in general because it's still underrated.

Original Evil Dead is overrated, sorry ED2 and TCM2 far outclass the originals.

I mean Return of the Living Dead is one of my favorite movies of all time, but I'd never try to argue that it's a high-quality, classy film like The Shining, or even TCM1.
TCM2 has a cult status for the same reasons it makes general audiences uncomfortable; It's too comically gruesome to be mainstream. That's its whole charm... but for most people, it's not going to be a better film than TCM1.

Been following this one since before the 2011 revival. All the footage is shot, it was a matter of sound design and editing that was holding it all up. I've been waiting for this since '99. As soon as I saw the title I had to click away from the video I was watching. I'm still hoping, but it's more wishful thinking at this point, if I'm honest. That Buckethead Leatherface footage is new to me, so I really don't think it was on the original flash site as I'm a fan of TCM as a franchise, in all it's cheesy glory. TCM 2 is my favourite of the series though. It was a departure from the first but it was done in a way that was amazing to watch as a fan of dark humour. That and The Evil Dead set the standards for great dark horror comedy.

A Choptop serial killer film sounds like the most exciting thing I have heard in a long time in relation to the TCM film universe. Mosely would kill that shit.
The best part of any Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie is in the remake when Leatherface's dad slams his cane on the ground. No comparison.
It gets a lot of undeserved shit, but I'll raise you one Matthew McConaughey yelling "BEEEEP!" as he jumps onto Renee Zellweger's car as she tries to escape in Texas Chainsaw The Next Generation
Nothing beats the chainsaw sword fight from part 2...
Or the scene where that little chubby kid and the old man go up higher than shit in that house with the balloons
I love it's still on it's way. Over 20 years, now I honestly want to see the movie.
BucketHead and Texas Chainsaw massacre was a collab I didn’t know I needed
