That was the general idea, '5star'. Like Groucho Marx's "YOU BET YOUR LIFE", the show focused more on the "interviews" Herb had with his contestants, than the actual game. Herb indeed had a sense of humor that was both friendly and "down-home disarming"...and if he invited special guests to perform on THEIR harmonicas, that was okay, too!
This edition was originally seen in September 1955, when the show aired on CBS' Saturday night schedule at 9pm(et)- immediately following Jackie Gleason's summer replacement series, "AMERICA'S GREATEST BANDS" (the Dorsey Brothers' "STAGE SHOW" and "THE HONEYMOONERS" began October 1st)- for alternate sponsors W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co., and Lorillard Tobacco's Old Gold cigarettes {Herb offered both to his contestants as gifts}.

Milton DeLugg was the show's music director. Before the "Gong Show" with Chuck Barris.
Loved Milton on the Gong Show. Chuckie dubbed the band "Milton DeLugg and his Band with a Thug"

absolutely my favorite game show of all time. this guy is so smart and charming
One of my favorites. And herb could play that harmonica! He did a killer version of Silent Night on their Christmas show.
I believe this was Kenny William's only G-T game show
Absolutely the show was narrated by then-future Heatter Quigley Company narrator Kenny Williams.
This is a good game concept. It would probably work today.
you see were Wil gets his good looks
the reason it was so fast was because they lost so much time chatting
The blonde at 20:07, I wonder how many children she had
