Nice video of an unmodified 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air. This is original and not modified or hot rodded with some large big block V8 engine. When I was growing up my parents had a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air with the 6 cylinder engine and the three speed column shift transmission.
Such a nice looking car, looks fun to drive. Wish I still had my dad’s 67 Chevy. Needed a lot of work done and didn’t have the time or money to fix it so my mom sold it. Not only was my dad’s car nice before the engine went out and got rusty but it would have been the last thing of my dad’s if we didn’t sell it. He sadly passed away in 2007 and it would have been one of my favorite things if it was drivable.
dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend during the lockdown xD
Gorgeous car but if I had one I'd be throwing the fender skirts in the scrap pile (sorry but I can't stand them) The rear wheel cut out gives it is classic looks. I would much rather have one with a few scratches on it rather than a show car any day. So glad it has the original engine under the hood. I hate it when people put crate motors in them as that makes the car more generic. Forget any restoration, this car looks great as is and doesn't need it. Not to mention it's all American made (many repop parts are made in China)
I thought that REVERSE was always in between PARK & NEUTRAL? This is the first time I've ever seen REVERSE at the very end of the gear shift. What a trip. :o)
In the nineteen fifties most of the cars with the early automatic transmissions placed reverse all the way at the lever down position next to the low gear. I suspect this was so the car could be rocked back and forth to get out of a rut in the road. For safety reasons this was changed to having neutral between reverse and drive.
ed g.p I do as well, mine has a 283 v8 engine in it and I've even installed cruise control recently as well. Had her in the family since 61. she also came with factory a/c too. God I love her.
+floodedcaddy Actually it usually starts up just like that. If it has been sitting for a long time just give it 3 pumps and it starts right up! Thanks for commenting and make sure to check out my other car vids!!
@@pme6713 All they really do is basically switch the air from the heater to either come in from the outside or use the inside air. the "inside Air" would be like the modern recirculate in the new cars. Hope that answers your question well enough!
@@pme6713 In the nineteen fifties air conditioning was an expensive option that was primarily found only on expensive luxury cars. Almost all the nineteen fifties cars did not have air conditioning.

what I remember about my family's 56 Chevy Bel Air is as a kid falling asleep in the back seat driving home at night listening to Cousin Brucie
Thats AWESOME!!! What a GREAT memory to have!

@Luke Marc Yup, I've been watching on InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
Beautiful looking car. I've always found this to be the best looking of the *"Tri-Five"* Chevys.
What a beautiful survivor, never knew the offered a padded dash back then.... LOVE those boots also
Thanks!
Super nice original 56 BelAir! Nice padded dash, You do not see many with the padded dash I think it may have been an option.
Show the motor!

Me too!
I want this one. My dream car. I recently bought a 56 Bel Air that I'm going to restore. It's a bit of a project car but all it takes is some work.
That is going to be a great project man! Glad you are going to do it.
How's it coming along?
Same here. Has the original 265 so that's why i became interested.
Under the hood view??
Very luxurious

Chevy in 1958 went to the new order of P R N D L.
Nice baby
Why are the mirrors on the outside of the car so far away?
Did they really have passenger side mirrors on the outside of cars in 1956?
Good afternoon from Sweden, how much does this 1956 Chevrolet cost?

Nice old '56!
It can't be all original? I believe I can hear an electric fuel pump in the rear...?
It is all original. My Grandpa has had it for 30 years and was good friends with the original owner. We know everything about this car.
