Thank you for all the uploads on past Oscar shows. I would welcome similar clips from the previous shows from 1927/28 to 1948 (understanding that there are very few clips from the early banquets, etc.). I look forward to seeing those. I applaud you on your great work here.
Wow, 1948 was a very Strong year for Motion Pictures I Must say, the Treasure of the Sierra Madre, I Remember Mama, Johnny Belinda, the Red Shoes, Key Largo, Bud Abbot Lou Costello Meet Frankenstain, Letter from an Uknown Woman, a Foreign Affair and Sorry, Wrong number! Where all Masterpeices and was relesed that year and I Think it is one of the greatest years of Movie Cinema!
And now, 72 years later and thanks to the pandemic, the 2021 Oscars will be held at a more glamorous venue than the Academy theater: Union Station (in addition to the usual Dolby Theatre)!
Holding those 1949 Oscars at the Academy's own theater was like as if the NFL Championship Game (the first Super Bowl wasn't until 1967) was played at a high school football field! In light of a Supreme Court ruling that movie studios cannot own theater chains (a violation of antitrust laws), the studios wouldn't sponsor the Oscar show, and the Academy was in trouble.

Look how simple and unadorned the stage is....and the podium! Hilarious! And look at all the statuettes lined up on a shelf in the background.

Wow, What a self serving speech. Yes the world of film would fall apart without the guiding hand of the academy.
