    Great review Rob. A definite must have for those who have basements or cellars. We save our water for plants.

    Does the exhaust from one of these need to be ran to the exterior of a crawl space or can it just exhaust to the inside?

    • @redbonegaston2010
      @redbonegaston2010 Год назад

      It is supposed to exhaust to the crawlspace if that’s where the unit is. I bought the HD90 for my crawlspace. I ordered 6” duct and send the exhaust (warm dry air) to the tightest spot in the crawlspace. It was 100% relative humidity. Now, it stays around 47-50%.

    Definitely a must if you have a damp cellar or basement. We have a gas heat pump so in the winter I need the opposite ! I love gas heat , but it will dehydrate your eyes and sinuses .
    Hope all is well , enjoyed the video 👍

      If I don't run the dehumidifier in the summer I'll get mold in the cellar. There is just a lot of moisture in the air...

      I'm not sure....you might be able to contact Alorair tech support to see what they think. I don't have to run mine in the winter as the humidity here is lower when it gets cold and I don't have water in my basement

    Looks like a really nice unit. I won't mention the brand I have, but I've had good luck with it (over 7 years old). Tip - If you buy from a chain, chances are good your appliance will be junk. Buy from the small business "Mom and Pop" stores that have been around. The service is better, and are more reputable.

    This is clearly a huge step above domestic units however the compressor technology used on domestic units or any dehumidifier are generally long lasting. How many of us have fridges and freeezers, over 10 years old, Going strong. But this unit been reviewed looks excellent and you don't mess around with damp problems.

    • @wematanye533
      @wematanye533 4 месяца назад

      I spent $250 on a Frigidaire dehumidifier which looks to be the same model he has. Unfortunately it died after 2 years of use. Based on the symptoms it seems it's either the compressor or a refrigerant leak, both of which seem to be more expensive to fix than what the unit cost. Maybe I just got unlucky but there seems to be a lot of people out there who have had the same experience as me. The only thing that scares me about the industrial units though is that the company could simply not honor the warranty and I would be out $600 instead of $250. Not sure if this is a rational fear or not. I guess I need to do some more research.

    Looks like 10% of Amazon riviews are DOA or soon after, and any time buyers are asked to help "salvage" a defective unit or to send VIDEOS of malfunctions I say that seller needs to get with the program and just ship another unit. Imagine them telling you to install a new circuit board or capacitor!!? This is China's standard of customer "service"

    • @SevenFortyOne
      @SevenFortyOne  Год назад

      So far this unit has lasted longer than the last dehumidifier I bought from a big box store and I've only had it a year. I don't know about the issues anyone else has had or the service they have received but my unit had worked perfectly since I received it.

    I got this unit and it doesn't work as well as my regular units from Midea or GE or Frigidaire . Although I need to replace them every two or three years.. they function much better than Alorair. Shame on the RUclipsrs who are promoting junk products they never put to the test.

    I had the large LGR storm extreme. Rated for the square footage bldg we were using it in. Never got t humidity below 50%. We were getting regular readings of 40% with our residential GE models. They easily out performed these machines. Not impressed. Most of these glowing reviews are from people that got the machines for free. I paid for mine. It went back to Walmart this morning. As for they're 5 year warranty, Walmart offers an extended warranty for 4 year's for a small fee, so that removes Alorairs 5 yr. warranty. The pump was barely acceptable. About the same amperage draw as ours when operating. I can buy alot of cheaper dehumidifiers for $900, which is what i paid w tax. Our unit was $120 on sale. No, the regular units aren't for a crawl space, but i could make it work. Save your money, buy a good regular unit.

    • @SevenFortyOne
      @SevenFortyOne  Год назад +1

      I paid for my unit and it has outperformed anything from the big box stores. I didn't pay anywhere near 900 for this machine. Extended warranties are a rip-off.

    • @MrLittleman777
      @MrLittleman777 Год назад +2

      Im glad it worked for you. We expected commercial performance, but didn't get it. At this very moment, I'm looking at 50% humidity. Outside, its almost 90%. My 2 GE's pulled 3 gallons overnight. The Alorair would barely do 1.5 gallons. It seemed well made. I was also shipped a 2021 model. I paid for 2023. They refused to send a new unit. Told me to deal w Walmart. Walmart. couldn't guarantee a new unit since there's no date indication on t box. Unit arrived w a damaged plug, and missing t O ring seal for t condensate line. It pissed water all over. They replaced that at least. All around disappointment.
