The other way to tie this knot is to make a slip knot and put the free end through the loop and cinch it down. Not sure why this guy went with the most confusing way to tie it.
Is there any benefit of using this over and infinitely easier barrel knot or figure 8? Can’t really be the king of knots if it’s harder to tie and provides no additional benefit.
Using strong but smaller diameter cord Tie an Alpine Butterfly loop Then insert end of loop through grommet of tarp Then pull free end (other end) of cord through the exposed loop It will be like a larks head or bale sling hitch It can be removed from grommet at any time And the alpine butterfly loop is one of easiest to untie. It will never let go or slip Thank you for your video That is a cool Ashley stopper knot
Great teacher I love the pause you give to learn it thanks
amazing song choice
Do you know the title?

I actually needed this knot to put up a tarp over my shed for this winter. Thank you, cuz now I can do it the easy way.
Great to hear some proper music backing this knot tutorial \m/
A sheet bend over the tarp corner will work when the gromit breaks 💪
Figure of 8 knot is easier and works just as well
Yessir I was just gonna say that
Barrel knot as well
Why wouldn't you just tie a Bowline with a quick release?
Excellent choice of music seen Metallica 8 times. The knot is cool too
ONE! Great!
Is there a stopper knot that can be pulled tight in the other direction, instead of towards the working end of the rope?
Simple slip knot will be solid, have almost as much girth, while being very easy to untie
Тоже вариант👍

Seria melhor se arrematasse o nó fazendo uma alça com a ponta da corda para facilitar o desfazer do nó.

Who carries cordage that thick camping? Unless you're rock climbing? Get something 1/4 the diameter and 1/3 the weight and use a stick as a toggle.
Or just tie a bowline with the eyelet inside.
Exactly 💯

What about the monky fist knot?
A simple stopper knot is easier.
ABOK #526 Oysterman's Stopper Knot
Yes, also known as the Oysterman's Stopper Knot

Идиотизм или просто нечего делать?Любая петля и палка.
