    Yeey, finally a rapper reacting to this song! Metalheads already know how amazing this is, making a song of such a niche subgenre, on such an uncommon topic for a metal song, releasing it independently and still making the numbers these guys made.

      There are a few good band that do similar with their cultural/folk music like The Hu for Mongolia and Alien Weaponry for New Zealand/Maori.

      @@robcampion9917 Yup, folk metal is an endless well of great music.
      A group called Otyken is great as well, even though they're not metal. They mix Siberian folk music with modern pop music.

    Awesome reaction! Definitely check out the whole album. These guys are so talented and genuinely good human beings. They're working on their 2nd album now!

    Fun fact: Dana Dan (or de dana dan) means something a little more brutal in Hindi than "bring the beatdown." It basically means to beat something (or someone) over and over until it is absolutely pulverized. Basically, beat someone to death, and then some.

    • @1o726eggsia
      @1o726eggsia 8 дней назад

      actually de dana done doesn't mean anything grammatically... i mean these words only 'indicate' the idea of a beat down and yeah specifically only beatdown that's why it directly translates to bring the beat down..

    These guys are incredible. They're completely self owned and managed, no label affiliations. The founding guys started playing covers and suddenly went viral in a huge way. Then they wrote their first originals, recruited half of the band members, played as a band for the first time, played their first ever live gig, did a European tour, and performed at Wacken Open Air, all in just over 12 months!
    There is a fantastic documentary about this on YT called Raj Against The Machine

    Ari Ari was their first song I came across and I loved how different it was! They seem like top guys too. Raoul’s rapping is something else!

    The language they sing in is 'Hindi', the most widely spoken language in India, especially the Northern and Central states. There is no language called Indian.
    "De dana dan" in Hindi would literally translate to give(de), non-stop and at a maddening pace (dana dan). So, yeah, beatdown is pretty apt.

    Enjoyed your reaction!
    Extra tidbits: the lady painted blue represents Goddess Kali. She is the destroyer of evil & protector of innocents. The line, "now we're here, we're thugging it", references Thuggees, some old time followers of Kali.
    You really should check out the whole album. It's just over 45 minutes long & every single song is epic quality like this one, although Dana Dan is the hardest. I think you'd enjoy Gaddaar next, for a single song reaction.

    I love Bloodywood. They took nu-metal and added Indian instruments and rhythms and the end result is wonderful. They have some very powerful messages in their music. Check out "Gaddaar", a song about corruption in Indian government.

    India has like a bunch of different dialects

    • @PeoplecallmeLucifer
      @PeoplecallmeLucifer Месяц назад +4

      Indian ain't a language. India has like ... a whole cosmos of languages

    • @1983simi
      @1983simi День назад

      India's 2 main official languages are Hindi and English, however, most all of its 28 states have an own regional language in which public life, forms, law, media etc function. Those languages are not intelligible between each other and most have their own alphabets. They do share a lot of Sanskrit-based vocabulary which is why most Indians will understand at least a few words in other languages. (Just like certain Latin-based words are spread across most European languages no matter if the language itself is Romance, Germanic, Slavik or Nors.)
      On top of that you have four major language groups/families in India: 1. Indo-Aryan languages, 2. Dravidian languages, 3. Sino-Tibetan languages, and 4. Mon-Khmer. Those language families have completely different roots and thus dramatically different grammar structures. That's not dialects, that's actually fundamentally different language family trees, and the languages between those trees differ between each other about as much as say Spanish vs. German vs. Turkish vs. Polish (just as a random example).
      And again within those families you have multiple languages that are not immediately intelligible between each other albeit people tend to have an easier time learning another Indian language that is within their own language's broader language family. For Indo-Aryan languages examples are Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, and Marathi (just to name a few), for Dravidian it's eg Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam; for Sino-Tibetan it's Meitei and Bodo. And within each of those languages, yes, there are on top of that plenty of local dialects.
      The constitution recognizes all in all 22 official languages, however, there are about 121 separate languages that are spoken by more than 10000 speakers each, if you include all the known dialects it'll come up to about 19500, at least according to a census from 2018. The ground reality might still be more confusing than that.
