Hi Found Jordie at the 8:45 time stamp where you were showing the door skin you put up on the head. Congratulations on 1K subscribers! I love this channel and wonder why it took so long to get that many. You should be up around 20K by now! Keep the great videos coming I'm learning a lot that is helping me with my 50 year old trawler, Thanks!
Thanks for the support. It's great to know there are people who appreciate it. At 8:45? I had to go check. I can't find him there. Am I missing something? I'm thinking I'll do a weekly shirt giveaway. I'm amazed by the interest.
He was in the right hand bottom corner of the screen and not just for s second but for a long time. Please check as otherwise I think I'm going crazy. I double checked and he was there! I'd watch the show T-Shirt or not, I'm learning a lot and getting some good ideas as to how to modernize my 50 year old trawler. So thanks! Great videos!!!
Ahh, yes, you are right he is. In fact he's there for the whole episode. That's my channel logo applied there by RUclips. Thanks for the kind words. Hope you continue to enjoy.

1900..... I do love the Look of the boat. Years ago I had a buddy by the name of Gary Kennedy in Victoria that built an aluminum sailboat. That was his retirement job.
Hi Richard, I'll ask around if anyone knows of Gary. There is an amazing aluminium sailboat next door, perhaps it's him. You just squeaked in and were the fifth to spot pup yay! If you send me the shirt size and a shipping address to swag@travelswithgeordie.com I'll send it off. It will be a little while as I've only just ordered them.
Hi Matt, Thanks so much. You're the second to spot pup. If you send me the shirt size and a shipping address to swag@travelswithgeordie.com I'll send it off. It will be a little while as I've only just ordered them.
Hey...there's our puppy! 19:00 on the mark! Love how you're preserving the integrity of this beautiful old vessel. The way you've built the stowage boxes into the rear cockpit is pretty slick, and really like how you're finishing the overhead. (thankyou for clarifying that for us) :) Yeah, can't wait to see this all come together. Cheers from the Oregon Coastline!
Hi Tim! Thanks for watching. You're the first ever recipiant of a Travels With Geordie T shirt. If you send me the shirt size and a shipping address to swag@travelswithgeordie.com I'll send it off. It will be a little while as I've only just ordered the.
Just found your channel so a bit late to tell you this. Calking material has to stretch when the timber dry's out under direct sun, this stretching of course takes the least form of resistance. Now you have filled the bottom groove of the bulkhead planking and the material will adhere to both sides of the planking and the face at the bottom of the groove, so three faces. During timber shrinkage one of these faces will fail, hopefully for you it's the bottom face, as then the two sides will remain sealed. I caulked the teak deck of my 1930s motor yacht in the same way, spent a fortune on Sika Flex but I didn't know they also sold a special tape that fits in the bottom of the groove that the caulking will not adhere to it. Over winter the deck did not leak, but half way through the next summer it started. That's when I found out about the tape, but then I had the job of finding the leaking joint, the leaks of course did not correspond with the drips below as the deck was laid on marine ply. So there was nothing for it but to dig deep into the piggy bank and re-caulk the whole bloody deck again. Sadly I had to sell the old girl in 2010 but she has gone to super people and they have upgraded her, hopefully she will last another 88 years Below deck the underside of the marine ply was covered with a mahogany faced ply let in between the beams. I think those white panels you bought would have looked great let in to those beams of yours. But hey it's you boat and I look forward to seeing progress with it and see her finished. PS: If you are bored one evening look up Lazy Days, Dunkirk Little Ship. www.adls.org
Very good point on the three sided adhesion. I worried a bit about that and considered using a backer rod but it would be too thick. The tape sounds brilkliant. I really did want to put my overhead panels between the beams, I love that look. But the beams are a bloody mess and I didbn't have it in me to deal with that this time around. But I have a long term plan to do it that way and reface the beams. I'll check out Lazy Days.

Love ya work Peter! I liveaboard a steel hull yawl in Perth, Australia and even maintaining that keeps me busy. Always admired the woodies, where is Geordie? Apart from 19:05 in this update👍
Thanks Nomadic! Sounds like a great life you have. You should tell us all about it on RUclips! Geordie is always nearby and will appear in more upcoming episodes.
I’m really impressed with your work, the way you manage that little space is nothing short of magic! I am really liking how it is coming along. I don’t know boats but have always dreamed of owning a chris craft styled motor yacht. Can you tell me, is it cold on board? I don’t see much use of insulation on boat refits
Hi Daniel. Thanks for the kind words. Wood boats generally don't have insulation except possibly in the overhead space but even there it's probably not a very good idea. Happily the wood provides excellent insulation most importantly to avoid condensation which plagues plastic boats. I am plenty snug aboard while at the dock with 20 amps of shore power and electric heat. At sea or anchor I use a diesel water heater that also keeps me toasty. This setup will be all explained in upcoming episodes.
Thanks so much Klas. I pinned the masonite up temporarily with tiny stainless steel air nails. They'll be held permanantly by wood strips between the panels screwed to the beams above.
Great Labor Day weather . Nice head surround . The profile of the boat looks great with the flybridge w/out it has a canal boat look. Did you get the bed done on time? Where is Geordie?
Hi Robert, oh it was a lovely day. That clip is real time of course where the rest of the video is still so far behind. Rushing for Christmas after all. And yes, got the boat quite cosy and had a wonderful Christmas. Hope to be caught up by this Christmas. At the moment, pup is curled up at my feet. He will appear in more upcoming episodes. It's his channel after all!
Hi Ray, I should have just said to comment as you have. And that makes you the third to spot Geordie. If you send me the shirt size and a shipping address to swag@travelswithgeordie.com I'll send it off. It will be a little while as I've only just ordered them.
@@TravelsWithGeordie hi? No problem. Like to watch your videos. My w123 is from California imported to Holland in 2010 it 300 Turbo Diesel. And the old Steam Roller is a Aveling and Porter from the UK. 1901 13 metric tons. Keep up the good work. Greets.

Thanks Craig. Wow it sound like you did an amazing job on that Chris Craft. I pot polyurathane on the back side of the masonite too. holding up great so far. Thanks for watching. I'll be giving away lots more shirts.
Hi Jim, no, I'm not adding any insulation anywhere on the boat. I want to prioritize ventilation to preserve the integrity of the wood. There is risk of trapping moisture with insulation unless you are very careful. On the whole the wood is a very effective insulator, especially in almost completely avoiding any condensation. A real nightmare for some fibreglass boats.
Bloody hell. Now your stitching in pine beams to make a flat roof. Remember finding fault with previous owners using CHEAP wood stock. Glass houses.!!!

19:00-19:04 Hello Geordie.
