Thirty years is still young by American standards. Here in the New York City Metro Area, we have regional commuter rail carriages clocking 50-plus years on the speedo. Some of our subway (metro) train carriages are nearly 45 years of age and are still in service. Some may call our fleet of rail carriages "dinosaurs", but for the millions of passengers who need to get to work on time, those "dinosaurs" still provide a yeoman service any day of the week. With that said, great shot capturing one of the train I got to pilot in Train Sim World (yes, I'm a gamer). I hope a heritage railway museum gets to keep the Class 323 in the Regional Railways paint scheme.
I say if something is working keep them, the trouble with our country is build new units and some get stored, with these 323s most of been moved up north.
I was at walsall yesterday taking pictures and filming, I finally managed to sit in the cab after waiting for most of my life to do that so, life goal completely ticked off the list there. one of my friends was on the tour as well.
Amazing shots and captures there Mike. Nice sounds and liveries. Another gooden from you. Shame these are going from the West Mids, they will be missed in this livery. Very nice indeed. Really enjoyed, thanks for sharing!
I did think of doing Lea Hall myself Brian but I wanted to get them sounds they make so it had to be Barnt Green, plus no aircraft flying over. Be in touch soon regards Mike.
Great video mate. It makes me wonder what would have become of the Northern 323's if they had took on the Class 365's for the Chat Moss line before they were scrapped in 2021? Although I hear Dapol are making a Class 323 in OO Gauge, so you might be able to get a model of one of these for keepsake. I know I am :).
Why can’t Royal Mail and other Parcel Carriers acquire the now redundant Cl.323 EMU’s and convert them to parcel carriers, to replace the ageing Cl.325 fleets which are now going to that big EMU depot in the Sky?
Maybe 🤔 perhaps 🤔 I agree ☝️ that class 323s should stay with WMR - West Midlands Railway 🚃 beyond 2024 and could continue until perhaps 🤔 2034. I honestly haven’t been on any of the 3 car class 323 trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 however I assume that they are very good 👍 😊 😌 is because they are very smooth and trustworthy trains 🚊 🚆 🚂 in the world 🗺️ 🌏 🌍 🌎 however it’s time 🕰️ to move on and are replaced by brand new 🆕 class 730s. It’s probably very confusing 🫤 that there are changes to what happens next to these trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 however it’s probably best for them to move to NT - Northern is because they replace the aging class 319s and 769s that are scheduled 📅 📆 off lease from NT - Northern. Class 323 trains 🚊 🚆 🚂 has standard class accommodation only, second generation EMU - Electric ⚡️ Multiple Unit trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 , has a toilet 🚻 🚾 🚽 , luggage 🧳 rack, no smoking 🚭 accommodation is because it’s prohibited 🚫 on all trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 , buses 🚌 🚍 🚎, railway 🚃 stations 🚉, houses 🏠 🏘️ 🏡 , cafes ☕️ 🍽️ 🍵 , shops 🏬 , hospitals 🏥 , schools 🏫, enclosed public places and inside the buildings around the world 🗺️ 🌏 🌍 🌎 , open windows 🪟, gangway within unit, comfortable seats 💺 and are reunited with NT - Northern only. Both NT - Northern is the other train 🚊 🚆 🚂 company and this train 🚂 🚊 🚆 company WMR - West Midlands Railway 🚃 runs its services everyday including public holidays except Christmas 🎄🎅 🧑🎄 🤶 Day and Boxing 🥊 Day. It’s a shame 😳 that class 323s have finished ✔️ ☑️ ✅ with WMR - West Midlands Railway 🚃 however never 👎 mind. 👍 😆 😁 😄 😃 😀 😍 😎
Glad you caught these workings Mike and thank you for some great shots. Cheers, Colin.
I had you go and get this farewell tour Colin, it was good to meet Ben who came a long way to get them.
Cheers mate for watching, regards Mike.
Great video of the farewell Railtour. Now consigned to history around the West Midlands.
Yes I missed 323240 this afternoon at MG due to traffic.
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it this farewell.
...and then they were gone. Thanks for posting this Mike.
Yes the two from the railtour have gone to Wolverton works.
Cheers for watching Julian.
Excellent video Mike, sad to see them go, but glad you were able to see the send-off.
Yes Andrew, that sound will be missed on the CCL, but we can still get to see them in the Manchester area.
Glad you were able to get out to film the send off.
It had to be done Paul, as it was a I won't forget.
The last 9 years I've used they 323s I will miss them goodbye 😢❤
Yes I bet you will, they did a great re-furnishing job on them a few years back. 😊

I was on this tour. It was a wonderful day
Oh I bet you had a cracking trip, shame the train got delayed twice at Crewe and Birmingham International.
Cheers for watching Nathan.
Nice one Mike, great video of this farewell tour! Such a shame they're gone in the West Midlands!
Yes mate I agree but we can still hear that great sound up on some Northern routes. 😊
I was at walsall yesterday taking pictures and filming, I finally managed to sit in the cab after waiting for most of my life to do that so, life goal completely ticked off the list there. one of my friends was on the tour as well.
Well done mate, thanks for watching and your comment. 😊
Now I feel old, remember them being brand new and catching them between New Street and Stafford for a bit of weekend spotting………
Yes I do know how you feel, we don't realise how long they have been around until we see that its the end of them in the West Midlands Richard.
Mike, Now just a memory and a great farewell. Regards, John
Thank you John, yes that sound will be missed in the West Midlands, regards Mike.
Great shots Mike.
Cheers David.
Wonder if Northern will do any specials when their time is up ? I imagine they will do. Great shots there, goodbye 323's. Enjoyed cheers Nick.
Yes I think its possible Nick but you are talking years I think.
Nice video Mike :)
Glad you enjoyed it
Great footage 👍
Glad you enjoyed it😊😊
Nice little film Mike. Nice shots at Barnt Green and Berkswell. Well done be sad to see them go to the cutters torch. ☹️
Lots of trips on them for me over the years along the CCL Tony, I wonder if the new one's will last as long, cheers Mike.
@@antman09ful1 does any thing last long these days. 🤔
As far as I know 9 are being put into storage, with the rest going to Northern.
Amazing shots and captures there Mike. Nice sounds and liveries. Another gooden from you. Shame these are going from the West Mids, they will be missed in this livery. Very nice indeed. Really enjoyed, thanks for sharing!
Many thanks Jamie for taking time to watch and comment on this video.
Try and keep dry today regards Mike.
@antman09ful1 Anytime Mike, and you it was very wet yesterday. Cheers Jamie
Great shots at Berkswell Mike. I think I might add the Barnt Green shots to my summer vid to finish it off.
Yes why not as that would be a good end to your video as September is the end of the summer I think.
Great seeing you yesterday.
Well Mike, initially Barnt Green was on my rader but being lazy i opted for more local. Nicely covered by yourself though. Regards, Brian.
I did think of doing Lea Hall myself Brian but I wanted to get them sounds they make so it had to be Barnt Green, plus no aircraft flying over.
Be in touch soon regards Mike.
@@antman09ful1 Yes Mike, always a problem with LH & MG & the high risk of being bowled. OK mate, speak soon. Brian.

Oh yes this might be possible, thanks for watching my video of these West Midland units on the farewell tour.

I don't know about the Royal Mail as they don't what to us rail to transport letters, but most of the class 323s have gone to Northern.

Class 323s Should Stay
Would be good if some could have continued being used along the CCL.
