I know it's too early to tell but i am sure that I couldnt be as close as to profitable and understanding price action without the mentorship of these two smart and experienced gentlemen

I think you are a very good trader, but I'm wondering if you have predefined strategies and if you strictly follow these predefined strategies. In my case, I come up with a strategy case by case in real time as I watch the price action and I use the strategy that is specific for the moment, instead of waiting for a setup for a predefined strategy. In a sense, I trade based on my experience rather than some predefined strategies. How about you?
@@leonw6463 Thanks! I just looked up the meaning of discretionary trader and that's exactly right. I am a discretionary trader. My basic idea is that the price will eventually drift away from the current level, therefore, I should be able to trade any moment, although, I need to adjust the expectations of which way the price would drift, how far, how long, and how erratically.
Yes coming into market open I have a set of criteria that I look for when looking for A+ setups. As far as my actual strategy, I trade the break and retest and I have a playbook with a bunch of different setups with the B&R. When your scalping its a lot more discretionary as opposed to day trading or on the higher timeframes where you will be a lot more mechanical.

I been trading almost 8 years and im still not profitable and it sucks. I think i suffer from knowing to much so once the setup that im working on goes into to much of a draw down then i try a different strategy. I also struggle with having a strategy where my win percent and RR line up well.
Yea trading is one of the only things where sometimes knowing too much can hurt you. As for the strategy wise its all about back testing and also understanding that no strategy or setup is going to work all the time. My strategy works best on trending higher time frames and when the market conditions are choppy I understand that I need to size down or not take any trades at all.
@@JdubTrades your right. That's why I said my win rate and RR doesn't line up well. I can have a couple of weeks of being profitable and consistent and wipe out the winnings with a couple of days in a row of losing. It can be tough to have the perfect combination.

Thanks brother! Keep it small in the beginning no need to risk lots of money in the beginning. Keep it at one contract and scale from there.
