She is English not Welsh but she did live in a part of Wales for a while where Welsh was used. It is quite impressive, not many Welsh people can actually speak it despite living there their entire lives.
For a non-native, though, there are so many factors that can get in your head. 'W' as a vowel, trying to figure out what the heck to do in your mouth to produce "ll" sound, not to mention the length. I've tried to teach myself to say it. I doubt I could ever get it all out before a native figured out, "oh, my god, he's trying to pronounce that word, let me interrupt him."

"Llanfair" means "Church of St Mary" and is a common component of lots of Welsh place names.
I’ve also heard Taron Egerton and Luke Evans pronounce it. How many famous people has this town produced??
stvp68 they use at as a gimmick, the town is extremely small, any famous person from wales claims they’re from there because wales is a small country
Luke Evans doesn't say he's from there, he can just pronounce it.
I think Luke Evans is from Aberbargoed
None they just say there from this train station (no it’s not even a town really) because it makes good TV
All the Welsh ones
Americans tend to clap to everything
Mert Aygün yeah it’s something that the rest of the world can’t do. 😒
They're easily pleased.
I’m not American but that’s a bad thing how?
Haikyuu Trash Because if the default response to anything is to clap and cheer, the acts of clapping and cheering lose all meaning. They just become verbal ticks, alongside coughing, sneezing, saying "tum te tum" and so on...

Rwy'n Cymraeg hefyd a Mae llan yn Church yn saesneg!.I'm Welsh as well and sorry llan means Church the words following can be the saints name,eg llanfarian church of Mary, confusion comes when the English translation would be St Mary's
easy mistake ,just lucky my mams family are welsh speakers x
I just looove that she casually took her shoes off😂😂
Well..... she is Australian. That's pretty much how we approach life. 👍
It's only unpronounceable to people who don't speak Welsh, would you say that about your own towns in America because not everyone speaks English.
Boi, it aint unpronouncable, it's just hard. A lot harder than learning "Fry" in English, which is a town name LOL.
Zwei Universe It really isn't that hard. I only know a little bit of Welsh but I learnt the pronounciation of this in 5 mins. You just need a little basic knowledge on the language and practice. So for Welsh speakers it really isn't hard.
Zwei Universe if you speak Welsh (even if you’re not fluent) then it isn’t hard, it’s just like any other place name
Why u mad?
Not everyone,a lot of Americans can't pronounce san Diego to save their asses because it's a Spanish name, that happens through all the southwestern states
It's fun to see people actually talk about wales 😂
Every new year in school, the first lesson back in Welsh we have a little introduction lesson and this is always there and we have a challenge to who can say it
... everyone who attempts fails
For anyone wanting a rough translation of
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch:
The church of St. Mary of the pool of the white hazels near the rapid whirlpool and the church of St. Tysilio of the red cave.
It's commonly abbreviated to either Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Llanfairpwll or Llanfair PG
Ahhh it's good to be Welsh #CymruAmByth
She lived in a whale?
No Wales
Daniel Hill Multiple whales? Impressive!
Elian Wow!
I thought Pinocchio was a young boy
Elian LOL
I love Naomi laughs , make my days🥰
Naomi Watts is incredibly gorgeous and a underrated actress in my opinion.
I feel like this gets brought up on every talk show with a Welsh guest lol
i legit got a 22 second ad and it said i could skip it in 21 seconds
Five years later... I'm still trying to pronounce it 😂😂😂🤷🏻
Yeah.. she may be from wales, wait till a new zealander does this one - Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu
Liam Davis she English 🤣 coz she can pronounce it doesn’t mean she is
It’s like someone fell asleep on their keyboard when naming that town and that became the eventual name.
Human: **breathes**
Americans: 0:41
Except she didn't live there. She lived in Llangristiolus about 6 miles north of this town. We knew her grandparents and while she was there she went to school with me and my sisters.
+Lloyd Christmas LOL
She make it sound so easy to pronunce 😂
what a small world, taron egerton lived in this town as well, its a small world but we don't see beyonce in target
Lol🤣
Taron is also from that place???? like how many famous people are from there?????
insouciant lady Taron is from Aberystwyth
Naomi’s so talented and stunning like always♥️👏🏼
And here I thought that spelling and saying : Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis was impressive
Nawwwww... Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
me: so where are you from?
0:36
me: *calls 911* yes, someone is having a stroke
911: Ok we'll send help. Where are you located?
*starts having stroke*
Nope. As Wales is clearly not in America, you’d call 999. If you tried 911, no-one would answer, and you’d die. 😂
@@dickydoes the original comment takes place in America, not Wales
Sophia Borderon I was replying to the comment asking where are you located. You’d be in Wales if that was your answer.
So happy to hear someone get the pronunciation spot on!
She's SO adorable. Pure class. Completely different from the plastic Hollywood bimbos.
Taron says it differently
SpamiWami101 Because he's properly Welsh! 😄
Born yes, not grew up in
I think they're pronouncing it the same, just his voice makes it sound different and it could be an accent thing too because their accents are a little different.
I speak some Welsh and the pronounciation sounds pretty much the same.
Born in England, birkenhead to pe specific
Instructions unclear.
There is now a demon in my living room.
0:36 I’m surprised the desk didn’t start floating when she was finished saying that
"I don't blame you for getting out of there."
😂😂😂
Awsome 😂 love her for proud of her ancestors. Love from wales 🏴
ok cool town name but why is she barefoot???
ikr
Because heels
Heels can be painful.
That is the best way to live! Don't destroy your feet with those "shoes"! You don't need shoes.
@Max Ambient lol, nice
When translated it’s actually a description of the directions to the town train station
0:36 The moment we love!!
Thanks for helping everyone pronounce welsh! Da iawn!
My phone: **falls on me**
The text sent to my mom:
"So.. what do we name this town, Fred?"
*KEYBOARD SMASH*
@@Dreamboyuwu 😅😂 you caught me.
I’m so proud to be Welsh 🏴
Her laugh is so cute
Imagine sending a letter to someone living there...The Post Office would ask for a deposit.
Thank God for emails and texts.
It's known as Llanfair P.G also
“Let me go over here”
“Yeah, now you’ll get it.”
