I started to learn to play acoustic about 5 weeks ago. I have saved over 10 teaching videos of this song and this is be far the best and clearest version so far. At 54 with sausage fingers this has not been easy but I am enjoying it very much.
I wish I had continued playing. I just started again a few months ago. My fingers are older than yours (72) but the years of practice still show. It's the dang memory that makes it hard. I learned Landslide note for note and now I can't play it, but I can play songs I learned 50 years ago. Hang in there. Practice correct technique and playing a guitar will give you great enjoyment.
@@59steveo Thank you. Their seems to be a bad connection between my fingers and brain as my fingers dont want to do what I tell them too lol. That and my rhythm is about as consistant as politician. But I still love it.
You are the best tutorial page in RUclips I ever found. Congratulations. I using your tutorials to learn a lot of songs I had always liked to be able to play.
The accuracy of this detailed lesson is astonishing. Wonderful job and one of the best tutorial you can find on RUclips. Thanks for this precious gift.
Dave - I can play this at the right tempo. Thank you!!! I've been playing for only 1.5 years and you're the only reason why I keep on going. I practiced this religiously for about 3 weeks for about 30-60 minutes. It's a lot of fun playing along with you. I know I'm getting better when my friends can recognize the song.

Hi Dave and thanks from a 73 year old guy trying to learn a few songs I love. I poked around for how to play W.T. and your lesson is the best. Thanks for taking the time to show us how to play this song. You're very talented as a player and teacher. All the best.🎸
Hello Steve, I hope you are well. I'm doing the same as you: I'm learning this great song now, I'll be 70 soon. A beautiful song. I also recommend you by Clapton: tears in heaven
It's late in the evening She's wondering what clothes to wear She puts on her makeup And brushes her long blonde hair And then she asks me "Do I look all right?" And I say, "Yes, you look wonderful tonight" We go to a party And every one turns to see This beautiful lady Who's walking around with me And then she asks me "Do you feel all right?" And I say, "Yes, I feel wonderful tonight" I feel wonderful because I see the love light in your eyes Then the wonder of it all is that you just don't realize How much I love you It's time to go home now And I've got an aching head So I give her the car keys And she helps me to bed And then I tell her As I turn out the light I say, "My darling you were wonderful tonight" "Oh, my darling, you were wonderful tonight"
It could be said that one of the skills of a great teacher is the ability to make the seemingly impossible become possible. You do that - thanks so much!
Man, this is what I was looking for. Thank you for all the tabs and the detailed instructions. I never thought I would be able to play Eric Clapton at home. You have made it possible. Thanks a ton mate
Thank you for the tutorial dave, yours are the only ones that made sense to me, the diagram on the side is awesome. Youre a great teacher and probably a big motivation to keep learning, every time i have the energy to learn more i think "what song should i have dave teach me today?" You made me play wonderful tonight
Thanks to your amazing tutoring on the john mayer stuff i can now use my thumb to hit some of these! my hands are super big and its really comfortable. Dave you made an arrangement which is super fun to play.
Yes I've learned this finger picking. Now I'm learning the lyrics tonight. So I have to say: I underestimated it. I underestimated singing along with picking...not easy
Hiii Dave, congrats on 1 million subscribers!! Also thank you for this wonderful tutorial, i can finally play both Tears in Heaven and Wonderful Tonight!!
Could you maybe do a tutorial on Eric Clapton‘s „River of Tears“ from the „The Lady in the Balcony“ Session? That would be great. I am a big fan of your tutorials, I already started to learn „Layla“ and „Tears in Heaven“ with the help of your videos and I am looking forward to start the work on this beautiful song. Keep up the nice work!👍🏻
Thank you I was just looking into how to play this song. I would love to see you do a tutorial on Is There Anybody Out There by Pink Floyd or Never Going Back Again by Fleetwood Mac.
Loooove this song! And perfect for acoustic guitar. I'm straight onto this one Dave, thanks for giving me something to work on over the xmas break. Cheers.👍
Hi Dave! I would like thank you to share this amazing tutorial! Behind it and that quality of presentation, there is an huge work and probably not everyone's can understand. I did and I wanna tell you: THANKS!😊
Hi, are these sheet music and tabs in your manual? (I say 'these' because I really like all your tutorials on you tube and would like to have a paper compendium of your arrangements)
Hey Dave, awesome tutorial, was searching for something like this. I played with it and I have a suggestion - at the end of the Intro, in the final beat, wouldn't it make more sense to play a D on the 3rd fret, second string, instead of the E on 2nd fret, fourth string? I think it sounds more complete and it also helps for the G chord shape in the next part of the song.
What a Wonderful song to learn Tonight.
