The irony for me is the Scripture is the real treasure, the coins were just to make an exciting signal to dig. I would have opened it in the field not waited lol
When I was a kid in the 60s we'd burry a mason jar with a dead bird, maybe a dead mouse from a mouse trap, some fresh dog dookie & add in a cup of water. We'd wait about a month & get some unsuspecting kid in the neighborhood to help us dig a big deep hole just for fun. We purposely selected the spot where we burried the mason jar & when the digging got close we took over so it wouldn't get broken open with the shovels. When the jar was exposed we went on about possible burried treasure & what might be inside like money or old coins. We were sure to let the unsuspecting kid unscrew the lid to see what was inside but as soon as the seal was broken the condensed, potent, pressurized stentch would hit his nostrils & he would gag uncontrollably & start throwing up. As we laughed hysterically the stentch would overcome us too & it became a total gag fest of uncontrolled wretching, vomit, cursing & laughing all at the same time. Crazy times & still funny after all these years. Makes for a good science project - LOL!
After a month the contents turns into something that looks like that thick black oily goo from the X-Files & it was incredibly, incredibly strong smelling stuff. More often than not it would overwhelm you before you even got the lid off. We could win wars with that stuff.
Nice! Now that's an interesting find for sure!! Got to love the thought behind this find how cool Owen! Keep up the good work my friend and best of luck to you and yours cheers Nathan
How cool is that. One of the coolest finds ever. I would reburry it, and add your story, and maybe another tube or two of pennys to it in a larger Mason jar and add your testimony to his also. Who knows who may find it next, or when.
That is for sure a fun thing to do. Now if this wasn't found for say 100 years from now, could you imagine the thrill that would of been ! Really enjoyed the video. GL&HH :-)
150 Pennies in one hole! That is the most pennies on one find that I have ever seen on metal detecting video on RUclips. Great Find! And even better MESSAGE on the bottles and PRAY for US! GOD Bless! :)
I have hunted a local park in town so much, that it is rare to get any good signals there anymore. So in 1985 I started putting some back. I am diabetic and had been saving so many empty "test strip" snap top vials and couldn't figure out what to do with them. I found a use. I put 10 wheat pennies and 2 silver dimes in each, along with the bury date and who buried them. I return one a year in different trash littered areas, none are buried deeper than 6 inches (so even a cheap Bounty Hunter) can find them. Maybe this year I will put my favorite verse quote in there John 3:16. Awesome find dude.
@@justanotherpulltab I also subbed you. I have been detecting since 1960 and next year I will have been detecting 60 years. A few of those "mini" caches contain a 1912-D wheat, I have found over a roll of them in all my years of hunting.
hey buddy man I was worried it was going to be a pets burial , I have found a few of those very cool find and awesome note ( BIG thumbs up from Alaska )
Nice.. Brother.. You have been handed the baton.. Now you must pass on the 'Love" for the next person to find.. Don't let the mantle die.. Out there someplace is someone that needs touched by those like Owen..
Not doubting you, but from what I've been told, the lids on mason jars rust quickly. That's why they dipped them in wax years ago when they hid money. Especially paper money.
great video. If you rebury them consider replacing the pennies with pre 82 coppers lol. they should hold up a little better. Awesome of Owen and I would have enjoyed that find
I think this is just precious, you got a good thrill!!! It was great that he told you about Jesus! This just goes to prove that there's more than one way to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!! Thank you for your appreciation of his message to you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That is a really cool find, it's like digging up a time capsule!!! :) You should check all those pennies to see if any are key date pennies or error pennies as they could be worth quite a lot, search RUclips and Google for keydate/error pennies to find out more! I'm a detectorist from Australia and at my local park I was fortunate to dig up a horde of 19 Aussie predecimal coins in one hole dating from 1924-1957 (which were all half pennies, pennies, threepences, sixpences, shillings and florins) and these weren't jarred lol, that was one of my once in lifetime finds.
Recently I pulled a jar out of the ground packed with 1933 30 caliber bullets. Then beneath that I found 50 pre WWII stripper clips each holding 5 rounds each. Almost 300 rounds. There was evidence of a wooden box / crate
🐩🚶Imagine all the times people have walked & doggies doodoo over it with no idea of the blessed treasure beneath. 🎉 Congratulations 🎊 🎈 ✌️ PEACE 💜 BLESSINGS 👼
Such a kool find, it would be interesting to see if you reburied it how long it would be till it got dug up again. So kool. Cheers for sharing, happy hunting, Alicia
That was a really great find! I was thinking if you do re bury it maybe copy what that person wrote & put it in there so if it fads more the next person who finds it can see the original message ... also maybe add a note 📝 of when you found it 👍

The mason jar reminds me of my ex husband who use to put keys, money, rocks in mason jars. He had a bit of a warped mind. Enjoy looking at treasure hunters videos.

Well that's one cool way to get rid of your roached out zinc pennies. So, a metal detector can help! The railroads here, quit using them in the early 60s, when mass manufacture made dating sleepers, impractical ! Depending on the Age, Design and Railroad, some can be worth upwards of $100 or more, to the "Right R.R. Memorabilia Collector!"

Can't have been buried long. My brother and I just opened and emptied ~200 non buried mason jar. The ones with rings on them had to be pried off before they would unscrew. Zinc pennies.
If you still have the Penny's and still planning on reburying them you should tell your side of a story on how you got them and make a map so some yrs down the road you can go back to see if anyone had found them
That was a truly enlightening video.Thank you. You seem like a very humble and kind man.Thank you for paying attention to "Owen". Hope he's ok.
