While this is true, regardless of price, i feel older violins have a much volumnous and refined sound. I own one by my granduncle (he was a music techer and rector back then) and it has close to the same sound then the 100k Violin of my teacher.
I think it's the fear of pressing too hard and breaking it that makes the sound better... The sound becomes more tearful with the despair contained within it
Thing is, i think she’s playing each violin at the best of their capabilities. There’s a reason why the cheapest one gets played more aggressively and the other she’s able to manipulate the sound more. The high value of the second violin is also in that.
@@ikken5707Definitely if you want to improve your technique because play on a cheaper instrument will hide bad technique, so a better violin is a must. Also a better instrument has more of a warm tone to it.
Because she’s using more bow pressure and speed on the first one, she didn’t even play close to similar on each violin all these comparisons never work in practice
La différence est vraiment notable, mais il faut bien reconnaître que les deux sonnent bien entre des mains expertes. Si je devais faire le même test, on ne ferait certainement pas la différence entre les deux !
They also appear to be two different sizes. A larger instrument will produce a deeper, more rich and resonating sound. Oh and side note you're the first person I've seen that's so talented playing the violin "right handed" that's very interesting haha you must look so silly in an orchestra with your violin on your right shoulder while everyone else has it on their left lol 😮😊
The ease of playing vs the sound production is an important part of trying and playing the violin. And it not easily understood by most of non string players
Deeper tone on the more expensive one. But honestly the $500 is fine. While I played viola I played on a $1000 instrument and honestly I think the very expensive ones are nice. But price is a little inflated.
It’s not the art in the man, but the man in the art. Same holds true with the violin. She can make a $500 fiddle sound really good because she brings so much skill to the instrument.
the difference is only in the type of resonance produced, one is firm and the other is soft, it all comes back to value, prices can be adjusted, humble is more noble
I’ve been playing the violin for three years and I assume you’ve played longer but you aren’t wearing a shoulder rest and you play your instrument on different sides then usual maybe its different from where your from but just wanted to know
Yeah but you played them differently + you played the first one being more sideways to the camera and the second one was more with the front side of your body- It makes a sound difference. I know, because i play violin as well🤌
How do you do the thing with your finger where you allow the note to play in different degrees while your finger is still on it? I tried to do the quick hand back and forth to give that sound but can’t get it to sound like yours
You played much more slowly on the second more expensive, with more musicality. I’d love to see you play exactly the same on both. Or so the flip and play slowly and with more musicality on the $500 violin.
Does she want us to say she makes it sound as good as the expensive one? We know you are good, but if you played them the same way, maybe we could compare Also real sound comes from real life, RUclips compresses the sounds so we wouldn’t be able to hear the same thing
Not a good comparison, you played them both very differently

no she didn't she played them the same?
@@peachxzzno she played the first more aggressively and faster while she played the second more mellow and softer
@@VenturaEliteDetailing because they sound different😀😭
@@peachxzz no cause she changed bow pressure
On the first violin she plays more forte and scrapes. But on the expensive violin, she plays softer. Why are you manipulating us? :DD

@@Andrea-xf7gu She has to play both violins with the same nuances. In order for the audience to understand the difference
"Damn it sounds good"
"Damn it sounds good"
Lmao why do so many people do this? It’s very clear that you purposely played them differently, they think we’re complete morons
In conclusion: GO PRACTICE. IT'S NOT THE GEAR, NOT THE INSTRUMENT, BUT THE PERSON
instrument matters tho

for those wondering, the piece is “Waltz No. 2” by Shostakovich
She played forte on the $500 one and mezzo-piano on the expensive one. Different dynamics produce different sounds and vibes. We aren't idiots.
Amazing, I didn't know that.
We are musician and we know that even i’am not violin player 😂
Even though both are played differently I can easily tell the more expensive one is better
An affordable one Vs an unaffordable one lol
I'd be too scared to even touch the 500k violin 😮
me too
Back in the 90s when I was 15 a luthier just casually handed me a 100k dollar violin to try. I was astounded.
Even if you played it somewhat differently, you can still tell the difference in the timbre and tone. It’s so…smooth for the expensive one ^^
Ive heard that the older and well played and maintained violin it is, the better it sounds hence the more expensive it is
Given the difference in price.. I would definitely settle down with 500$ one😅
Even a Grass can become a weapon in Masters hands ❤
You make them sound so beautiful.❤
Beautiful music & violin cover 😍❤
Walts is just such a nice piece
The 500,000 violin 🎻 has a softer enchanting sound.
My sister used to torture me while she learn how to play a violin so i have some experience auditioning this kind of stuff. I'd say price matters
$500 sounds better to me. $500k sounds kind of muted, what do you think?
I do like them both, I think the more expensive one would sound better as part of a symphony though.
Ça s'appelle des nuances. C'est juste que lee violon à 500k fait mieux les nuances alors que celui à 500 est plus brut.
I get the sound is more bold but it’s also rough and very low dynamic range unlike the 500k one
That's not because of the violin, that's because she played them both completely differently
I've noticed more expensive violins sound softer. I guess it depends on what sound you like.
Meanwhile me with my 200$ violin💀😭
Keep practicing and you will get more expensive one sooner than you think. Just don't give up.
It's all in the way she plays she slows it and adds crescendo if you good enough you can turn a $100 violin sound like a expensive one
Both sounds good
IMHO, the $500 violin has a beefier tone, which I prefer. However, my dear, you make any violin sound fantastic! Je t'adore, Mademoiselle Esther!
Because she’s using more bow pressure and speed on the first one, she didn’t even play close to similar on each violin

Waltz no. 2 by Dimitri Shoshtakovich
The bigger one actually sounds better! Goes to show ya, money isn't everything! 😳😊
I could really get the pitch diffrence which was amazing in the 500k one❤
I agree
I prefer the first. Price/performance product 😎
It’s not the art in the man, but the man in the art. Same holds true with the violin. She can make a $500 fiddle sound really good because she brings so much skill to the instrument.
What I hear is a 500.000 violin played by a 500 million worth violin player! 👍😉
A Turkish proverb: Money never lies.
Waltz no 2 is always a bop
the difference is only in the type of resonance produced, one is firm and the other is soft, it all comes back to value, prices can be adjusted, humble is more noble
Esther, you could make an Ocarina Sound like a classical Instrument! 👍😎🎶❤️
No because it's a different skill 😅
Why does she play on the wrong shoulder??

fells like quenching my thirst, seeing you after awhile.
can you please play secret garden
Yep. Sound like a violin to me
I mean, of course, I'd play differently on the 500k violin too. 🤷🏽♀️
I have a 60$ amazon violin rn and am upgrading to a 380$ violin💀
How does the $60 sound? I'm about to get that same one. I'm a beginner, I haven't played once yet 😅
Can you play ' Tales of the Kojiki ' by yamada?
it doesn't justify the price difference... xD
also you play them different XD

I just bought one at a thrift store for $22. It's cracked and is missing a string, but still sounds beautiful.

idk with my laptop speakers they both sound equally good.
Would violinists say that different violins sound better with different styles of music?

girl play them the same so we can hear a good comparison 😂
How many years does it take you playing violin??

About 79 on amazon
I prefer the 500 because the 500k is little bit quite or maybe because you play it softer
