AAC Blocks vs Bricks - Which is Best (Full Comparison)? - AAC Block vs Red Bricks Hindi
Bricks or blocks - which are better for construction?
A few years back it would have been the brick only era for constructions. All larger buildings relied upon the traditional red brick until construction industry decided to change things to suit the requirements and ease of access to turn towards AAC blocks.
People wanted sustainability and durability, and since people started being more sensitive and aware towards environment protection, blocks came just in time. Few years back the National Green Tribunal issued a ban against digging of earth for making red bricks without prior environment clearance (EC).
The brick-kiln industry faced a major blow, but soon enough the Fly Ash Bricks or AAC Blocks industry got a kick start as people found it easy to set up plants for them and the ease of building them is also relatively tempting. There sure are pros and cons of both bricks and blocks which can make us understand which should be used.
In this video you will know which one is better in 2022.

The cost of AAC blocks is lesser in comparison because they are made from Fly Ash. These blocks are perfect for those who are environmentally conscious. Red bricks cost more because they are made from the top layer of soil.

    Hi Sir, 2 questions:
    1. Can doors be fixed in AAC/Fly ash bricks without column present on other side?
    2. If i want to add partitions walls and there is no beams to bear the load, which is best to make partition walls? fly ash or aac?
(For Context: I want to make some changes in the room sizes before plastering in a G+3 residential building, but there are no slab beams to support the load, so i want to know the best alternative so that the load on my slab is not increased and my walls are fairly strong as well.. thanks)

Bro...I'm a civil engineer. According to my observation the main benefit of block over brick is "economical". A brick structure can sustain for 10000 years....for example Harappan civilization, Qutub minar...all are made of bricks. So use brain....if we intend to make our building strong....some extra cost does not matter. Brick is always a far better option.

We don't intend to do that , 40 to 50 years is enough cause after that the house style becomes outdated and no one wants it after that Seriously , no one wants to live in outdated houses except a few rich people
ACC blocks are far better than red bricks
      1) they are considerably economical
      2) better temperature insulaters
      3) better sound insulation
      4) reduces so much dead load of the building
      5) lessens the construction time
      6) uniform strength
      7) labour and materials cost is saved
      8) water leakage is less
      9) has more finishing than brick walls
      10) less chances of defects and adulteration
Sure there are some points where red bricks are better than ACC blocks but they are not much
There are also situations where you can't use red bricks even when you want , like for high rise building you can't you red bricks cause the material cost will be astronomical and dead load on the building would be very huge

    Compressive strength
    1 block = 10 bricks
    If 1 brick strength is 7 or 8 N/mm2
    Then
    1.block strength should be 70/80 n/mm2
But actually one block strength in 5n/mm2 only
So poor comprehensive strength compared to red color light weight bricks
I hope this is a clear difference

    • @devanshbhardwaj2014

@@vkumarsinha It will be impossible to build a structurally sound foundation without columns, as there will be nothing from the ground up binding and holding the structure together. My advice would be to build the columns and leave them open above your ground floor roof slab. The exiting columns can be then used for further construction of your subsequent floors.

@@CivilDimensions i have one more question....i have seen while construction we use tmt bars something which are made of steel & get rusted...why we don't use stainless steel rod in pillar or slab or use stainless steel sheets on roof slab under concrete instead of roads ??
