Godzilla vs Kong does feel weird compared to King of the Monsters. I definitely liked the human cast better in KotM overall as they felt more like they they were part of the story, in G VS K they didn’t feel as connected!

@nathanclaspell6003 quit blaming the streaming. This was happening way before then with all the ridiculous sfx and cgi that took over the storytelling. It's made the moviemaking process more sloppy and lazy while being more expensive. Plus other little things like putting everyone up in motels or suites instead of renting trailers or campers to house the cast n crew. But mostly expensive sfx that the ppl have complained about over and over again.

Or actors are asking too much money for each role. I understand that they need to be paid, but they keep wanting more and more in their contracts and are not satisfied with their pay
There's a really interesting study of the economics of high salaries for celebrities, etc. that was done about 25 or 30 years ago. I came across it at university in the late 90s. I can't remember the details. Maybe Google it.
@@bradleyhightower4668You know about those movie companies and the sport owners that pay them, get money to pay those salaries and expenses and get millons in profits? When a new stadium or arena is desired, teams negotiate with states and municipalities to determine how they will be funded. This typically comes from an increase in sales and tourism taxes, as well as the sale of bonds to be paid back over time. Other methods of funding include surcharges on parking and ticket costs.
Remember actors like robin Williams would have homeless come in to act or work on every movie he did he would regularly say he would work for less if they would put this in his contract
10 million??? Holy shit. And to think Godzilla Minus One was made for supposedly $15m...no wonder American Blockbusters have such bloated budgets anymore. Wow.
Yes! This! If they wrote a good script with a cohesive story then some of these movies wouldn't need so much bloat! That's the issue!!! They will take any script and put hundreds of millions behind it in CGI and effects, but the script sucks. The US no longer cares about writing. They only care about CGI& making everything look realistic, and a medicore script at best, which will not fool US audiences anymore.
@abhinavchoudhury7000 I get what you're saying, but it's a loss imo. Netflix has been steadily losing money and dropping customers. Even to the point where they were forbidding people to share the same account in other countries. They raised the price and are considering doing so again. Unless it's an original; they buy their content to stream. Now, take that 10 million with other movies or shows with a similar cost, new content they purchase, and it will be a loss. With the drop in customers, it's not a great investment. No matter how long it's on their platform, Americans will no longer watch a bad show/movie just because. Now, it is subjective, but a good script is not something you can feign. If they put more effort into the writing, plot, and set designs, I am convinced that even with mediocre CGI, which would save them millions, wouldn't damage the value of the movie. People complain about poor CGI with Marvel movies because the movies are shit that the studio spends hundreds of millions of dollars on. Their writing is awful, plot all over the place, and they insert modern politics into our escapism....noone wants to be preached at. They spend hundreds of millions and take several years sometimes for post editing, and the CGI sucks.
Yes but who decides how much they should be paid? They sure ask for ridiculous amount of money but as long as there are studios or sports teams that pay them then who are we to intervene?
They make so much money because hundreds of millions of people pay to see them. Therefore they're entitled to a cut of the money they make whoever hires them

I mean there’s one season left. She might as well finish it out even if her heart isn’t in it. It would be career ruining if she didn’t and I think we would have heard if she wasn’t going to return since the final season is already a few months into filming
She’s contracted so wether she likes it or not she has to finish season 5, after season 5 it’s up to her but after season 3 she signed for 2 extra seasons. All she is really doing is taking as much money as she can, she doesn’t even watch movies or shows let alone her own. She doesn’t care for the roles she’s in she just wants a shit load of money
Transitioning from a child actor to an adult one is extraordinarily difficult and few people have really done it. Will be interesting to see how well she moves into adult roles. I personally don't think she has the range to cut it
There's literally no guarantee that an actor will have an ongoing career, so if they find themselves on a successful show, they absolutely deserve to get paid extremely well. I haven't seen any of stranger things past season 2, but i hope she doesn't demand too big a salary and get written out of the show. Why are actors paid so much? I have never understood this. Ever. Edit: The amount of people that don’t realize that this is a rhetorical question is astounding. 😵💫
Because as soon as their names are big enough, they make up a huge part of the reasons why people go to see a movie. The studios aren't doing this out of charity, but they calculate how much said actor is going to make them and then pay them accordingly. It's sad that we live in a world where people with jobs that contribute more heavily towards society running smoothly sometimes struggle with getting by, but in and of itself, the pay of actors makes sense: they get paid this much, because they make this much.
It's called capitalism. The same reason other entertainers like sports stars and musicians get paid so much. If you don't want them to get paid so much, then don't watch them.
Supply and Demand. They make so much because the movies are making 100s of millions of dollars. Since they're the main actors in the movie, they are entitled to a cut of the profits.

You sure? Let's just take Cary Grant, for example. By the time he died he was worth about $60 million. Today, that would amount to more than double that amount. Grant demanded he make at least 300k per picture, but let's be generous and use The Philadelphia Story as an example where he demanded $137,000 or $2.6 million today. At the time, Katharine Hepburn wasn't doing so great in Hollywood (believe it or not. Had a rep for being "Box Office Poison") and Grant basically used that in order to get more money and have his name more prominent in the advertising for the movie. Scummy behavior although, damn, he was a fantastic actor. My point is, yeah, there are terrible and selfish people in Hollywood today. But it's no different than it was in the 40's, 50's, 60's whatever. We simply hear about it more now because it can easily be plastered all over social media. One point I'll definitely agree on is the style of movies back then. "Talkies". Even Hepburn's made up amazing transatlantic accent felt like you were watching a play, because you essentially were. It was less about theatrics and more about theater with those types of films; Hepburn, Grant, Bogart, Bergman, Stewart - all in many stage type films. This is also not to say there weren't some good hearted and less selfish actors back then. But I'm sure some of those exist today too. I think the majority of actors today and then, however, are/were likely quite vain/self-obsessed and care quite a bit about the paycheck.

@nathanclaspell6003 quit blaming the streaming. This was happening way before then with all the ridiculous sfx and cgi that took over the storytelling. It's made the moviemaking process more sloppy and lazy while being more expensive.

But mostly expensive sfx that the ppl have complained about over and over again.

Yes!
For real. And the movie was incredible.

@@abhinavchoudhury7000 Doesn't matter. 10 million is a lifetime amount of money. No one person needs to be paid that much for anything.

I like her. But the boys in stranger things were kinda better.
I'm tired of her at this point. Over-exposure and her clearly inflated ego have become a turnoff.
Yes, this
Agree!!!!
I mean she is young. You tend to feel invincible at her age and in your 20s. She will grow up and change in time
I kind of doubt that but I guess we will see.
@@CynsCorneryou’re a loser
She looks so much older than her age. I wish she would embrace her youth
I'm pretty sure most Monsterverse fans didn't miss her, as her character seemed to overshadow the other human characters, and the mosters--the MAIN characters of the movies.
The COVID interruption was really tough on Stranger Things. The child actors grew so much it really changed the feel of the stories.
They ruined that show before covid with that non binary red head
Eventually no one will be able to afford her. Movies aren’t doing that well lately.
She is so adorable. Turning into a stunning young woman but forever captured my heart as a little girl. May she be protected forever. Hollywierd is creepy. She seems like an absolute sweetheart and so talented. This generation has some very talented actors. Looking forward to the movies they will be in.
I can't remember a single time I've seen her anywhere in modern family? Is she a cameo or an extra? I feel like I'd have noticed her simply because my brain always goes "it's the stranger things girl."
Buddy we don't want you in GODZILLA x KONG 😂
Good. She’s yet another modern actor that just plays the same character over and over with a slightly different appearance.
I don’t agree with that at all.
Her two biggest roles so far are Enola and Stranger Things, where it’s two completely different characters and personalities.
I disagree but I have a feeling might regret turning anything down. Besides Enola which is connected to Netflix so of course they are going to pay her the big bucks, what else does she have? Maybe she has other stuff lined up but she will probably end up like most child actors struggling to be taken seriously.
@@TamTam9-15 I don’t think she’ll have that much trouble. Even if I haven’t seen anything I find particularly impressive in her performance you don’t really hear anyone saying anything bad about her. People know who she is, and the people portion of the Godzilla movies aren’t exactly the popular part. So I don’t think this will have a big effect one way or the other.
@@Charlesperalo Fair enough but all her parts, to me, have just been different takes on the prodigal child. Enola was a bit happier, but that’s it.
But being as fair as possible, it’s not a movie I particularly enjoyed anyway. I do think she’s done well in Stranger Things. But I can also only really think of her roles in Godzilla, Stranger Things, and Enola. I think the similarities stand out a bit more comparing Godzilla and ST than with Enola.
@@anubis24354 it doesn’t have anything to do with her likability, her being problematic or even her acting ability really. Look at the actors in the Harry Potter movies you’d think they’d all be A-list in demand stars but they aren’t. The same will happen to her and probably every kid on that show unfortunately. She will fair the best at first but will fizzle out just like Emma Watson.
Millie Bobby > Millie Cyrus
😌
A 470M revenue against a 200M budget is a financial success. Why wouldn't she get a good payday for that?
She can leave acting forever and live very comfortably.
Lol. She's spent most of it already on her agent and media consultant! Lol
shes marrying so i can see it happening
I DON'T CARE about Hollywood drama so WHY CAN'T I STOP watching you content??? 😂😂😂
😂😂
I love the part of the video where he explains where Millie Bobby brown is out so informative 😊
It's an over crowded field, with a lot of people who feel very comfortable in front of the camera but not necessarily talented! This girl is one of them & she's well known for rudeness! Plus way overpaid!!!
This is a sad state of affairs and it shows
All of the elder generation of veteran actors got into it because they had a passion for stage plays, movies and what it means to be an actor while todays generation of young actors only care about how much they get paid and get paid far too much for what they're actually worth and it again shows
Imagine being paid millions and STILL not being happy because you want to be paid even more when you're already earning enough you could retire before your mid twenties smh
She was the worst part of Godzilla vs Kong and King of Monsters so as far as I’m concerned they didn’t even need to cast her.
No one's there to see the actors in a Godzilla movie
Bryan Cranston was the closest we got to a good actor in an American Godzilla film, but he died halfway through wasting the potential 😂
She’s a pretty good actress, idk why they even wasted a big name like her for those movies. Yea most people love Godzilla for fights & destruction but the American movies especially never had character writing as their strong suits.
Actors will be terrified when Ai will be able to make movies without any real people and then they will be all out of a job
That’s going to be all of us
@@mattm6200laughs in sandblasting. See an AI carefully maneuver itself around a delicate piece while dealing with the blowback of sand in all its gears 😂
Honestly too to an extent, I think it should show everyone how valuable some jobs really really are. Being an entertainer really is a job anyone can do, whether it’s making up their own stuff or following a script. The whole industry has been too rich for too long
Nobody is finna watch AI movies. It’s just like a painting. No digital picture will ever be more expensive than da Vinci paintings
@@truaentnation2528True
@truaentnation2528 Actually, they're getting better now there are like short anime films now.
This is the golden age for court jesters. Somehow they have been elevated to royalty status 🤷♂️.
Human drama is the worst part of western godzilla movies anyway
To be honest though, she does a good job, but is she really that good of an actress? I don't think so. Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way suggesting that she is bad, I just don't think that she ever offered a performance that really was amazing. I hope she'll be wise enough to choose her role wisely. I don't have any problems with her making money, I just hope that money won't make her accept roles that are uninteresting and that it won't keep her from accepting potentially great roles.
i don’t think she’s that good of an actress
She's really not.
agreed
Same I think minor roles are better for her, she also felt out of place in Godzilla
She was great in Enola. Dont discredit her for Godzilla movie which is corn pop movie.
She's nice to look at.
Considering Godzilla vs Kong was released during the pandemic and was still be able to profit is amazing.
Bro apparently everybody's out yo
Bro gets paid to put her hand out and screem with a bloody nose. 💀 No one is watching stranger things for her.
I hate when any actor is driven by money not loyalty
And what loyalty does she own
She's a very commercial actress and she's not exactly bleeding for her art. I wouldn't be driven by loyalty either if I accepted the peace of crap productions she has played in since stranger things. And that awful makeup line... She's cashing in while she can, and I respect that though.
Human plots were fucking disgusting in GvK. But that isn’t to say the movie itself wasn’t good. I personally enjoyed the fight scenes with Mechagodzilla Godzilla and Kong. Plus, that movie helped inspire other movie studios to start making more movies during the pandemic!
Exactly the story for GvK was actually really good and the fighting scenes were cool too yeah CGI and some other stuff were off but like the Godzilla movies are great it's just the directors hiring actors that make it shit.
It baffles my mind that earning $470 Million at the box office on $200 Million budget isnt a profit
