I lost my manual for my push mower and now I am having a hard time getting na adapter for my mower blade it is a craftsman push mower 6 years old every where I go it’s too small what can I do now
If you put them on upside down you'll know real fast as soon as you start cutting the grass. Instead of cutting they scalp and dig into the yard tearing up the yard. So it is always a good idea to test a strip of lawn to make sure you put them on right side up.
I got a nice mower. Just realized after 3 years the blade was upside down. It cut well but would not get good vacuum and would cut horribly if the grass was a bit wet.
I cut this whole year with the blade upside down. Was a free mower I got from the side of the road, never bothered to check. It cut surprisingly well but man did it plug up a lot. I flipped it over to clean and winterize it and found rock dings on the wrong side of the blade, that was a big FFS moment.
Doesn't help me - Husqvarna blade is flat and bevelled on both edges. I do wonder how hard it would be for the manufacturer to simply mark the blade to show how it should be fitted.
Never have I seen blades that turn in opposite directions. If they do on that mower you will be cutting with the back side of one of those blades. You may have been doing this for 20 years as you say but you have not learned everything you need to know. I really don't know why you think those blades turn in opposite directions.
Thank you for correcting that. What was being said and then the spin direction of 2nd blade was not making sense. If I understand this correctly, the cutting side of the blade will always lead the spin toward the discharge shoot. And if you are looking at the blade from the bottom, it will be a counter-clockwise spin. Thank you for letting me say this so I can get it in my head. (Correct me if I am wrong and I will edit this.) Jesus bless.
It has been over 2 years since I replied to your mis-information about the blades spinning in opposite directions and no reply from YOU because you know you are WRONG - back to lawn mower school for you dude and start over with those 20 years experience you're claiming. Ha ha ha ha !!!!.
lol, so much is wrong, both blades spin the same direction, if the star is burned up the spindle is done, as it will loosen up over time, or if it takes a hit its going to tighten up and snap the bolt throwing the blade, the 1st bade is bent not the deck being bent, yet you tell us all the dangers of mix and matching blades, come on dude, if you want to troll other channels make sure you have your act together,
I'm not going to argue . i've been doing this over 20 years and have NEVER had an issue with any repair i have done. I do things correctly. Like i said i'm not going to argue. and i am not a troll nor do i troll other channels. I appreciate your comment and thanks.
One other thing, the blades were not bent, the star was rounded to the point where the blade sat at an angle, i put a new shaft in it and it works perfectly.
i can't use latex as im allergic to it, i primarily wear medium nitrile gloves due to having very sensitive skin. sometimes large is all the store has so i have to make due with what i can get lol.
Thank you OPG great video! I didn't know about the bevel side makes senses. I had my blades wrong didn't know.
Great video.... You explained things well... Thank you

Even a better idea - check your work.

So the parts number side should be in sight when putting the blade on, right.
Or the parts number becomes unseen when tightening it back?

awesome job. was hoping you would zoom out a little tho
If I'm sitting on my mower and look straight down at the deck are the blades turning clockwise or counterclockwise.
Clockwise with the sharp blade side down to the grass.
Well damn... I put the blade on upside down 😒... Shame. Well, I just returned a Perfectly good mower lol fresh start on a New One lol
Lube that bolt!!!
Lube that bolt and wait for the excitement to happen when the bold works it's way out.
@@joesinakandid528 we always grease bolts for tools used in wet areas to prevent corrosion internal to the bolt
what size bolt holds the blade on lawnmower
depends on your model, some are 9/16 or 14mm newer models are 5/8 or 16mm.
The wings on this type of blade should face up.
The wings should face UP on any type of blades - not just these.
Cut mine a whole season like this...actually cut decent but knew deep down something wasn't right
Now that I got it jammed on there upside down how do I get it off. Ugh
take bolt off - hit hard with a large hammer on the end of blade.
Lawn mower tractor blades replacement
way i remember is the dip part on bottom to the ground! flat part up towards the deck!
Cutting side down
@@joesinakandid528 What works for you. You will know if its on right or wrong when its engage he hee Thanks
I wouldn't want be within 1/4 mile of that mower after you forced the blade back onto that damaged shaft
u worry too much
The good thing is that you never have to sharpen them again. Blades last a lifetime.

100% correct. Impossible to spin opposite directions without two belt and pulley systems.
Yes, I saw that to. Both blades should turn clockwise. Thanks guys
