The education minister speaks like an uneducated person about things obvious to ordinary people. He is more interested in defending his party than defending the rights of students based on their merits.

They say India has lots and lots of talent but the real problem is the people who are managing these talents. Shame!

It is rich that Congress holds up constitution given Emergency anniversary. This may backfire on Congress at some point not to defend BJP.

The students are being treated like cattle in this country. There is no respect! This is what happens when you have the BJP in power. No clue how to run this country.

Ignorance in India is increasing at a breathtaking pace.
In thia video the BJP spokesperson is saying that Article 356 had been used by the Congress governments 90 times to topple state governments while no BJP government has ever used it.
Neither the Congress spokesperson, nor the anchor chose to educate the BJP spokesperson.
The fact is that the Article 256 has been read down by the Supreme Court in 1994 - in one of the most important judgements in Indian jurisprudence- S. R. Bommai vs Union of India. In this judgement the SC made it virtually impossible for the Centre to dismiss state governments using this article.
Since there was not BJP government before 1994, the statement spokesperson is at best "misleading" and at worst completely stupid ( I lean towards the latter , as I find the IQ of most BJP spoekspersons are usually less than their age).
The BJP's record in federalism is hardly stellar-- it has toppled elected governments in Karnataka, MP, and Maharashtra , among others -- by using dubious means. Also it has stopped central funds to Wes Bengal for MNREGA and other schemes as a "punishment" for the people for not voting BJP into power. The latest being the stoppage of water to Delhi.
The ignorance, as I said, is spectacular.
I urge everyone to read the Bommai vs. Union of India judgement, which not only limits the usage of Article 256, but also lays the foundations for the basic structure doctrine, which has been under attack by several BJP members as their understanding of a constitutional democracy is less than that of a two year old
