Elite64 is becoming my favorite Hot Wheels line of cars. I am enjoying how they are more on the realistic detail and scale side while still having the Hot Wheels style.
As of publishing this video this car is still available at the Mattel Creations website: creations.mattel.com/products...

I absolutely LOVE this E64 928 Safari!
Yeh I love this one, including the choice of color - I'm not going for most of the RLC nowadays. Keeping them to accurate 1/64 and the better graphics puts them way ahead of Hot Wheels premium.
It's a winner
If hotwheels can also tone down the blobiness of the castings they are putting out in the Elite64 and RLC line, it would be great. Also adding fragile parts like side mirrors etc as a separate piece unlike the blobs of casted in metal won't hurt too much either as they are aimed at collectors and not at kids. They did it with the 100% line and they showed what they are capable of in 1/18 scale by releasing the HotWheels Elite line in that scale which competed with and often outclassed other models from the competition. I don't see why they can't do the same in 1/64 scale.
Yes, please, please please, do a review of the original real riders set! My favorite of all time, have about 50ish or so of the set spanning the four or so years they did it. Thank you for all your videos!
Like number 100😁
That OG Real Riders is sweet! 😍
Really like the series!
Thanks for your review!
Nice looking but way expensive for us in Europe. For this amount we can get a top tarmac works mini, or 2 mini gt, or one used kyosho.
Looks great!
I do like the elite line, i think its better than the rlc they've been putting out. Im waiting for mine to come in still. Might just stay with the elite line. I have all but the one. That porch from 83 is 🔥! Thanks for sharing
You have a point here, some Elite has real volume headlights made of plastic, like this one and mercedes 300sl, RLC is always painted headlights, Elite colors are realistic RLC is more into shiny but not realistic. Regards
I agree with you re: Elite 64 and silver series lines, they do feel like better alternatives to RLC and premiums and I think it is due to lower expectations. I Wasn’t expecting much from either series but they steadily won me over with unique and well detailed/deco’d castings, though I haven’t loved or purchased all of them. That’s the beauty of adding these extra lines - they’re available for those who like them and if you don’t, then pass, which I’ve done with the 1/43s.
I think it would be really cool to find the Elite64 cars in stores like they do with the Elite 1/43.
I like the Elite 64 line, but save for perhaps the Lamborghini, they haven't yet released a model that absolutely grabbed my attention. This 928 Safari is nicely done but it's just not my cup of tea.
Better than then the RLC and easier to get.
Ordered one opened it and loved it, I just ordered another to keep it carded.
Thanks for the review.
It’s a great choice of subject matter from HW Elite & good to see a neglected Porsche receiving some well deserved attention. That said the Elite brand is hard to come by (for me here in Australia)….& the scale may not be true 1/64 either. Hmmmm….I’d be more inclined to snag one if the likes of Inno64, TarmacWorks or MiniGT made one. (And I hope the Diecast gods are listening 😁).
I prefer Elite 64's realism to RLC's bling.
I’m not one to correct a buddy but the first release, the Chaser, was actually the #2 car. The next release which I seem to recall was the Benz was actually #1. They must have had an issue with production and switched them up but couldn’t change the packaging which may have already been printed.
I have that vintage 928 Real Rider and love it. The Elite is really tempting for me as I love the Safari look. I'm still waffling over whether it's worth the similar price of a Tarmac, MiniGT, etc. I do like the Elite series better than the RLC, but I'm not sure if I love it more than other premium brands.
I like all of them, but my favourite is that old one.
I like older models are cool and it's normal road version, not a off-roader, albeit ground clearance is about same as on the off-roaders, because huge wheels. 😄
😅I like the Elite 64 line. I passed on BRONCO , but did get all the rest. Really like the Porsche 928 Safari. Really like the details on the Elite cars. Think that You’re going like the RLC Pagani Huayra the slate spectaflame has mirror like finish and tons of nice details.
I’ve been saying for a long time that Hot Wheels/Mattel has no idea what they are doing and at the same time they know exactly what they are doing. I haven’t opened my Porsche yet but in the package this is my favorite.
I think the elite 64 line is cool I have only bought the lambo so far hopefully they will come out with more models I think would be cool enough I will buy.
Very cool video championdjk
I like the Elite series too. I think it's neat that there is some unique element to each (camber, removable parts, etc). The only choice they've made so far I didn't like was the Audi. I'm not sure there's anything special about that one, maybe the rim design I guess?
I like it but what I'd have to pay to buy one and then ship it to Canada (probably over C$50 all things considered) is at least twice what I'd want to pay for a car of that quality.
Just got mine in today 🔥🔥🔥
Mine is in the mail. Really looking forward to the Bugatti later this month
I like it because at 40 bucks for the rlc stuff latly is way way to much for the quality nailed it man very very clean casting
These are cool but I will still rather buy mini gt. I definitely did like the 100% line. They had a 69 Dodge Charger but I think they only used it once. Thank you for sharing.
MiniGT bang for the buck definitely beats it. These do have the Hot Wheels charm though
I think is a great line. The only one that I think doesn't fit in is the Audi. I personally think is great that you are able to buy 2 of them and don't sell out within minutes. I would recommend 100% .
Agreed, I’m just going to snag the Audi to complete my set so far
Man, I would totally buy into these if they quit doing these modified cars. The quality beats anything Mattel puts out.
Yeah I think modified cars is what keeps them the identity of Hot Wheels though. If you want stock stuff there are plenty of premium brands out there.
@@Championdjk - Agree. So that’s why these are not for me. Thanks for showcasing them though!
I love the Elite64 line. I wish they released more of them a year... like 2 a month. I think they are better than the premiums and better than most of the RLCs. Hot Wheels needs to focus all their energy on this line.
E64 Audi on its way. Will be in this weeks box.
Championdjk, I quite like the Elite 64 line, however I've been limiting myself to those that have side mirrors only. This 928 Safari is quite well done!
Side mirrors to me are only necessary on certain cars in this scale. They have to be done well. Sometimes they can deter from the overall quality
@@Championdjk fair enough, maybe it's my OCD along with the fact that these are a bit on the expensive side so I just put some rules on myself else the die cast hobby can get quite out of hand 😂
👍👍😎
The mercedes gullwing was interesting but not worth the price for me, the Bugatti Type 59 might be the first I buy from elite 64.
I would take a wild guess but that being an off road style it is not originally produced by Porsche it has been modified so no way to tell it's actual weight or other stuff
Yeah that makes sense but then why even put it on the back of the package?
@@Championdjk check out pictures of card on the Audi it has them cause it's factory guess they just making it one way 😂
No HW product is really worth the money, much like McDonald’s. Back in the day, before Mattel bought them, Matchbox put out a nicer 928, with opening doors.
I bought this Elite Porshe too. I like it but I’m not crazy about the gold wheels. I wish they would of been black or white
White would have been rad
I like the Elite 64. Not a bad price either. I still like the Red Line Club better. I must of lucked out with my Mclaren. It is absolutely perfect. Perfect paint and the doors function like they should and stay in the open position when you open them
Nice! You got lucky.
My McLaren was all good too.
I’m not sure if elite is going for ultra realism. If they did that, it wouldn’t have the quirks of a hot wheels, you know, like the way you can look at a car and almost instantly say that’s a Hot Wheels
I think Elite64 is a far better proposition than RLC, both in terms of price and in terms of quality. They are still not on the same level as MiniGT and the likes, while being more expensive, but Mattel is greedy, so i don't expect them to lower their pricing any time soon. This Porsche in particular is cool, but seems to be lacking some of the finer details previous Elite64 had, so it feels less "Elite" than it should. All in all, a step in the right direction, but still not on par with their asian competitors.
Now, we need to know if these are true 1/64 or not.
Dig the review, not my cup of tea but the spare tire is legit!
am not as keen as you on the silverline and the ultra
the silverline is basically overpriced mainlines
the ultras are overpriced premiums
but hey each to their own
the silver lines are basically overpriced mainlines
the ultras are basically overpriced premiums
but hey each to their own, enjoy
The way I see it is the silver line is half the price of the premiums and you get more than half of what the premiums offer. I get it though. Not having rubber tires is a deal breaker for some folk
@@Championdjk I look at the silver series as what you'd have to pay to get the type of quality in a mainline that we got in the 80s where a lot were metal/metal with more decoration and even opening parts. The current mainlines are becoming more often plastic bodies and metal base now than ever before, it will be just a few more years before they're all that way. This line just resets the price point to the quality.
Price is not a good value for what you get
I do like this line from Mattel, but I do not pick all of them up. I did pass on the Porsche, just not feeling that one.
Not buying it! Don’t like it!
I agree -
There are better brands to collect.
Right on
I'd pass on the color but not the casting. I appreciate HW for what they are. Scale is not a big deal for me since HW is putting out so many models that other brands don't even make.
@@R26Roman HW has shown that they can make a pretty detailed casting in the past. It's sad to see that they are milking their customers by just sprucing up a base casting.
@@traviswalker8933 although I agree I collect only certain manufacturers and colors to not over do it. An extra cost for me isn't to bad plus having extras from the past helps with trading.
