- This remake of James Clevelend's penned and Thomas Whitfield's arranged classic that was sung by Vanessa Bell Armstrong aired originally on Bet's Bobby Jones.
This was my favorite performance of the night. She was getting into it! They should have let her keep going. This video had some syncing issues that I tried to correct. If it is still out of wack that's the best you are going to get from me at this point. I uploaded so people could feel the anointing I felt not for the video to be perfect. She is one of the only in gospel who doesn't have to scream and holler to bring the anointing into a room. NO ANTICS...
I like that she does not come to entertain she comes to be used by God, to be lead by Him. She worships no matter who's around its not about a show its about God getting the Glory, where ever she goes God's anointing is in her the atmosphere changes, its about lives being changed, chains being broken, yokes being destroyed. Stay humble before the mighty hand of God Jessica.

No she doesn't need it. It's your opinion but she doesn't need it. What she needs is what she already has...the Anointing! All the screaming and high notes in the world will not make a song or this song in particular anymore effective or minister deeply. If you listen to the audience she did just great!

Love her voice, but she really allowed her choir/back up singers outsing her in most of this song. Beautiful, powerful, POWERFUL song, but I don't think she did it the justice she could have... With all that being said, I enjoy listening to it--the music and arrangement are awsome!

Vanessa has a warm voice and her singers complement her, but I couldn't detect the dynamics that made the James Cleveland version so powerful. The choir's voices virtually whisper when they sing "Peace, peace be still," then crescendo when they sing "No waters can swallow the ship where lies, THE MASTER OF OCEAN AND EARTH AND SKIES!!!" If you've never heard the James Cleveland version, I suggest you listen to it--and be prepared to be swept off your feet!

God is a God of perfect timing, he uses vocals, body language etc for his GLORY... the gift of persuasion is his this is why she still can move Mountains with her gift!! some stare at her, some cry uncontrollably, some stand, some praise out of control... you know why??? cause its not ANYTHING she must do different or anything to be taught...
