Awesome review as usual. Loved the slow motion shots at the start. I want a Pro R so badly but $50,000 Canadian is tough even though it is likely worth it.
Ya Polaris, you really went all out.. with the price. This kind of horsepower should of been in these from day 1. My motorcycle, sled, and wife's car still make this feel gutless.. They are gonna look great show room floors.. with your retailers paying interest on them. What a Joke along with CAN't pay for Am's
The way these high horsepower machines seem to destroy trails, it sad that I see in the very near future A LOT more trails being closed or having strict SxS restrictions
Jeeps, broncos, trucks etc destroy trails much more than any side x side. They way 2 to 3 times more and are wider. Where I live in the desert southwest I can always tell when a group of jeeps have been on the trail cuz its rutted out and washboarded
I have a 2022 rzr turbo R and I live in southwestern Pennsylvania. I ride with a group of friends and we frequent Hatfield McCoy trails several times and year. I can tell you that we ride around 200 miles in two and a half days and our average speed is less than 20 MPH. We aren’t ripping up anything. Trails get ripped up when it’s muddy and at that point anything that’s on them makes ruts. I own over 200 aces and I rip across my fields and I don’t make any ruts. We road Sand Hollow In Utah this past June it was mostly lose sand and hard pack and rocks. You can’t make ruts there. We ride almost every weekend somewhere and only run into ruts where there is puddles.

I agree with Cletus. The trails that I ride here in Wisconsin do not allow jeeps, broncos, or trucks. It's all 4 wheelers and SxS. These trails are so torn up you can't really enjoy a ride in a Polaris ranger with the junk suspension they have. Just about every sport SxS I see is being driven like its ars is on fire. The results--- torn up trails that only select SxS can handle.
I’ve always wanted a rally car or Trophy truck and right meow this is the cheapest closest way to scratch that itch I absolutely need to sell everything else I have and get this thing!
It's actually like 76.5 wide, i finally got my ultimate. I did do the stage 3 clutch kit and it made a difference from AA. I might go with the 35 inch tires
Don’t feel bad. 90% of the guys buying them can’t afford them either. I see pictures all the time of a new rzr with a house trailer in the background. 😂 it’s not if you can afford it, it’s how long you can stretch it out to afford the payment

I have driven one on high speed trails in Michigan and I’m one of those 80 plus mph guys that most complain about and no it really cool inside compared to other rzr’s. That’s actually my favorite thing about it, it’s not crazy fast from my standards, it’s doesn’t handle crazy, good but nothing like omg but it is crazy comfortable!! Has to be the most smooth, quiet, high speed SxS I’ve ever driven. I’ll have one at some point, think it would be perfect with a turbo.👍
Any Yamaha project engineer out there? You could use the 1.8 (2zz) in a YXZ 1800 SS Banshee edition? Yamaha is pretty good at doing 4 cylinders anyways...one of the best with high rev too!
Hmmm. I don't know. I've been waiting for 8 months for a recall replacement ECU for my sportsman ATV. I'd hate for that $40k machine to become a brick for lack of product support
This is a shot in the dark and will probably never happen. But what if Yamaha put the 1.8L supercharged motor that's in the GP1800 R SVHO in an SXS? Personally, they could figure it out but, most likely to never happen.
Good lord this thing sounds beautifully angry...these things with the speed limiter removed will hit 105 mph and around these parts we do a lot of lake racing in winter months and that makes you lake king...I know it's a bit pricey but you got to pay to play these days...love my X3 but this thing is on another level imo.
Screw all of the chassis measurements. I’m 6’3 and the only thing I comfortably fit in is the Can-Am X3. In fact I have to slide the seat forward One notch in that. Everything else I’m sitting more upright and feel cramped in
$50k 😂 It should be even more than what it is! Facts, with this price tag I will tell you I had a 500hp half ton I run sand drags, mud pits, any and all trails I come across if fit I shredded if weren’t burying it to headlights & had less than $13k in it so please , $50k is no way worth what’s here
I keep reading that sxs are limited to 1000cc. So what is this vehicle considered to be if 1000cc is the limit of what they can use. Did something change?
Couldn’t justify another 15k$ over my 22xrs, I like the looks and the NA aspect but didn’t want to spend 45k before tax, then add the accessories, Im happy with the x3, it ruts the hell outta trails just fine 😉
I love seeing the CanAm Polaris SxS wars! However as much as I would love a Pro R, I have to question where can I ride it here in the east coast without having to deal with fitment issues. If the machines keep getting wider the only place to ride them will be jeep and buggy parks. Meeting on the edge of a cliff in Hatfield in 2 64" wide machines is almost a physics problem in some areas!
.13 not 1.3 pound per hp. And .13 is a very good power to weight ratio. For reference that’s a better power to weight ratio than a 250cc dirt bike and about the same as a 450 dirt bike. I included the weight of a rider
You have to see one in person to truly appreciate how absolutely absurd the Pro R is. The cool factor is off the charts for me. It’s like being back in 2013 comparing the XP1K to the OG RZR S.
ok Polaris 2,100 lbs 225 hp - sand car 2400lbs 700 hp . hmmm doesn't really seem as much of a beast as everyone is making it out to be . but it is still pretty cool !

Regardless, I think can-am build quality and reliability will keep me on the cam-am side, moving forward. Polaris has really uped their fit and finish, I looked at a pro 4 seat and the thing was seriously huge. It makes a x3 look kinda small. Great review as always dirt trax👍
I just sold my X3 Max RS that was fully built. Picked up my Pro R 4 two weeks ago. My Can Am was a great machine. The Pro R 4 is in a whole other category. I put 35’s on my R right off the trailer. Highly recommended. It is a truly amazing machine. Expensive for sure. But sometimes you get what you pay for.
think about its 25 more horsepower but what does that 4 banger engine weight compared to that can am 3 banger or what does the car weight. I am willing bet that 25 horse is wasted on the weight of the car.
Maybe with this much horsepower I would finally find a side by side, Fun. I'd rather just park it and look at it. Which is why I ride dirt bikes and atv's and with the insane prices driven by ignorant emotions I think I will just continue on my way..
Why do they not make these one seater in the middle and smaller! Use the same power but make it just big enough to fit the engine and turbo! I don’t know why the RS1 went away if I bought one that’s the one I would get! Ain’t nobody in there right mind gonna ride with me I only need the one seat!
Should be legal for the road with that much Power n weight. MY Rav4 v6 is close to same weight and close to 300hp and tops out at 218kmph.Does it do over 200 kmph? And hell it's larger then one of my first cars a 1988 Toyota SR5 GT. The Price tag could go though. Might as well buy a Jeep with 300hp. Least Can drive it on the road and no trailer at all.
